CHAPTER 36: SIRI’S WALKING CATASTROPHE PHYSIQUE PART 2
"Sir Elf, what are we going to do? We can’t stay on this tree forever." Little Mantou, who was currently clutching on the thick branch, snuck a quick glance at the situation below.
There were a lot of monsters resembling those ghouls in the graveyard, scratching the trunk of the tree and trying to climb over each other.
The moment they came in this world, they were immediately surrounded by monsters resembling those ghouls in the graveyard before they jumped inside.
They had already dealt with hundreds of them, but these monsters were endless and kept coming to them in large waves.
The worst part was that these monsters don’t produce loot and don’t give them experience points, so no matter how both of them eliminated these fellows relentlessly chasing them, it was all for naught, and they would only waste their stamina.
Sir Elf had advised the little fox to preserve strength since they hadn’t explored the secret realm well and Master’s whereabouts were still unknown.
It’s just that...
How do they get out of this predicament?
The tree was only five meters high, and if those monsters kept increasing, it wouldn’t be long for them to make a ladder using their bodies to stack together and reach them.
"Sir Elf, have you got any ideas?" Little Mantou turned towards the elf.
"What happened to you, Sir Elf? Is there something wrong?" Little Mantou asked after noticing the soulless expression on the elf’s magnificent face.
Why does he feel he’s looking at a person who wants to die?
Sir Elf is giving off such an aura.
Siri was currently in a daze while looking at his status window.

His soul almost left his body when his red irises glided on the luck stats.
-400?
Why are the other basic stats rising by single to double-digit numbers, but his luck is decreasing by hundreds?
System, you can’t be serious, right? There must be something wrong with your calculations!
Siri complained inside while the color of his face turned paler by a few seconds because no matter how many times he blinks, the number won’t change at all.
"Sir Elf?" Little Mantou called again for the third time.
"I’m...fine." Siri responded with a voice on the verge of crumbling down while sticking his eyes on the [-400], silently hoping that it was a mistake and that the system was only pulling a prank.
"Are you sure? You don’t look like you’re fine." Little Mantou probed worriedly after detecting that the corner of the elf’s eyes were moist. Even when they were being chased, the elf had not shed a single tear, but now, for unknown reasons, his eyes were bloodshot and the ruddy lips were pursed into a thin line.
That doesn’t seem to be an expression an elf who is fine should wear. It’s more like extremely lamenting over something.
"I’m really fine." Siri smiled, but it came out crook and his lips were trembling.
Little Mantou raised his eyebrows, totally not believing the elf’s words.
"I’m really alright." Siri adjusted his position, finding his butt was becoming numb from sitting. He extended his hand, trying to search for a thicker branch among the dense leaves on top of him.
When the tip of his fingers sensed a cold, thick branch, he grabbed and squeezed it to pull himself up, but the thick branch fell on his lap and made a hissing sound.
The green snake raised its head and slithered its tongue onto Siri’s cheeks. "Hiss."
(O ∆ O) (O ∆ O)
Siri and Mantou spent a few seconds looking at it in a daze before they reacted.
"Ah!" The elf screamed and wrestled it, trying to prevent it from coiling his body while hooking the thick branch with his two legs.
Little Mantou also screamed because his position was closed to the elf and the snake’s tongue and tail touched him several times while the two tousled for their lives.
Because of the big movements, the tree shook wildly, and green leaves and twigs fell to the ground.
It took a few minutes for Siri to defeat the thick and long green snake. He threw it on the ground filled all the monsters.
The big snake, weighing a hundred kilograms and with a length of five meters, fell on top of the rotten monsters and engaged in another fight.
Hiss-
Ho ho-
Siri spat the leaf in his mouth and began to rethinking his life choices.
At this point, he thought that those ghouls in the graveyard seemed a lot cuter compared to this secret realm.
With the problem settled, Little Mantou, who managed to cling on to the some branches for his dear life, asked Siri if he was alright.
Siri slowly picked up the leaves on short twigs stuck to his golden hair before answering, "Yep, I’m still Ali..." alive.
Both of them heard a cracking sound.
"What is that?" Little Mantou asked curiously since his vision was impaired due to the trunk in front of him.
Siri had a bad premonition and looked down on the branch he was sitting on.
╭( ๐_๐)╮
Oh sh*t.
The elf quickly circled his legs on the trunk the little fox was clinging to, his heart was still beating fast.
Just a split second after his legs secured around the trunk, the thick branch fell, joining the wounded snake on the purgatory party below.
Siri breathed heavily, but just when he thought he was safe, Little Mantou, who spun his vision to his right, saw something red and emitting flames in the sky.
"Sir Elf, is that a meteor?"
Meteor?
Siri tried to look up, but due to the dense leaves on the branches, his view of the sky was blocked. He climbed up. When he reached enough heights, he swept the leaves to make a hole, and there he saw five meteors streaking across the gray sky, falling in a particular direction.
As long as it was not heading in their direction, it was fine...Hold on, why is it coming here?
The elf blinked hard for a few seconds.
(ºoº )
You’ve got to be kidding me.
One of the meteors strayed from its straight trajectory and made an illogical, swift turn in their direction.
Don’t come here! Don’t come here! Please! I beg you! Please!
"Sir Elf, why did it change course?" Little Mantou’s mouth was hanging open.
Siri solemnly remembered his luck stats before jumping down, disregarding the monsters below. Compared to the danger of the meteor, these monsters didn’t even amount to a tenth.
"Wait for me, Sir Elf!" Little Mantou also leapt down.
The two got entangled in a fight once more.
They only managed to escape the encirclement of the monsters for a few minutes, and by then they were dead tired.
Bang-
The meteor landed on the tree and created a crater measuring several tens of meters in length and width.
Looking from another tree in the distance, Siri’s heart was exhausted. "I have a confession to make."
Panting, the little fox responded, "What is it, Sir Elf?"
Siri showed the little fox his luck stats.
[Luck: -400 (Cap)]
"Ah?"
-400?
Isn’t it just -100 this afternoon?

Somehow, the earlier unlucky events, from the beginning when they were surrounded, to those fork roads filled with monsters, to the snake, and then the meteor, replayed in his mind in an endless loop.
Little Mantou had a constipated expression before suggesting "Sir Elf, how about we search for Master separately? It will increase our efficiency and reduce time."
Siri looked at the little fox with an indiscernible glint that fleetingly flashed in his red irises before pulling a dried vine coiled around the tree branches.
"Sir Elf, what are you doing with those?" Little Mantou slowly backed away.
A harmless smile was plastered on the elf’s face.
A minute later, someone was tied into a dumpling letting out muffled screams.
"As future colleagues, we should strengthen our bond."
