Chapter 441: Queen Taratect
CHAPTER 441: QUEEN TARATECT
The children the speaker meant was the little black spiders on her long sharp silver nails, glinting with sharpness like a knives.
The little spiders crawled and woven silver threads on her palm, making a nest. The silver haired silhouette gazed lovingly at the little spiders.
She possessed an elongated flame-shaped head, with silver filaments cascading from her back, face dotted with numerous eerily eyes darker than the night, semi humanoid upper body apart from her large bloated abdomen and eight branching spider-like legs.
This was Undra’s right hand, Freyja, one of eight elites serving the Lich King, the ruler of the Abyss Taratects.
[Queen Taratect- Level 56- (HP: 240, 000/ 240, 000)]
Undra was also on the verge of her patience. These ants despite not possessing a shred of power to fight against her dare not to confess, nor plead for their lives and remained silent in the end. If not for the annoying system rule numerous heads would rolled on these stairs long ago.
Undra threw the barely conscious Nian Zhen to the plight of stairs, near the rest of his dying team members before turning to Freyja, mustering crafty smile, "If you find it boring then spare me a little hand and make them talk."
Freyja’s was a special type of mage, specializing in mind control using her ventriloquist taratect threads. Through it she’s able to take temporary control of target which had lower mana than hers. This is why she’s in charge of gathering information and highly valued by the Lich King.
Nian Zhen heard what the succubus said and shuddered for unknown reason.
Freyja cast a glance Nian Zhen and the others, and softly said. "They’re of extremely delicate minds. What if something goes wrong? I’s be a pity if they just broke like that." Her words may of concern but it doesn’t match the distinct lunacy in her eyes, expressing her willingness to heed Undra’s request.
"Stop the gags of pretending as someone sensible and just release your threads." Undra scoffed. She already wasted time dealing with these people.
"You’ve always been of someone who had no patience and hard-tempered." Freyja clicked her tongue, stopped fiddling with the spiders, and approached Nian Zhen.
Nian Zhen propped himself weakly and stared at the half human and half spider a few feet away from him.
"Don’t be afraid. This will not hurt." Freyja smiled gently once again. A tiny black spider jumped onto the tip of Freyja’s fingers.
Nian Zhen felt his jaws were squeezed, sharps nails digging into the skin of cheeks, drawing trickles of blood. The entrance of his nose became itchy and something trying to crawl inside.
"My children are very gentle. It will only sting a little bit...like your innards were being scraped by dull sieves." Freyja giggled, finding the human’s expression a bit entertaining.
The tiny laugh and words caused the hairs on Nian Zhen’s body to rose.
Freyja had been standing behind the succubus since the start and Nian Zhen had already seen her figure and it doesn’t take much for him to guess what’s trying to enter his nostrils.
A dagger appeared in his hand and he slashed it Freyja.
Freyja merely flicked her fingers and Nian Zhen’s weapon was thrown away and his arm bent and twisted in a weird shape. Nian Zhen grunted and let out a loud scream.
Freyja covered her mouth, hiding a part of her amusing smile.
"Your struggle is pointless. The next time you move, my threads will severe your arm into several pieces. Although I will be delighted to see that but we can’t have you dying right away from blood loss, now can we." Freyja made a short demonstration and with the slight movement of her other hand, several trees were cleanly cut.
In that short moment, Nian Zhen could see countless of silver threads moving around the trees acting as saw and easily cutting them down.
He saw the same threads on the corner of his eyes, also tied around his twisted arms. His whole body became frozen as if he had fallen into the ice cellar, sensing the messenger of death looming above his head.
Is this the end?
Freyja stroke Nian Zhen’s cheeks with the back of her hand, trying to soothe his tense nerves, "Don’t be too sad. It will only take a short time. You won’t even notice the time as you will be drown by your own screams."
Undra pursed her lips, annoyed at having to endure Freyja’s hypocrisy.
Freyja licked her lips savoring Nian Zhen’s changing expressions from fear, panic to hopelessness.
With Freyja controlling Nian Zhen’s body using the taratect threads, he can’t move an inch and can only let the spider crawled inside.
In the last moment, Nian Zhen cried with all his remaining strength, "Help me!"
As if the skies heard his call, there was a high-pitched whistling sound. A streak of golden light passed Nian Zhen, avoiding him by hairsbreadth, hitting the spider and destroying all the taratect threads.
"Eek!" The little spider shrieked and burst into meat paste. Its flesh and blood splattered onto the Queen Taratect’s face and Nian Zhen’s.
Nian Zhen was stunned after regaining his movements.
Freyja’s smile froze before getting angry at the death of her child. "Who dares!" She screamed horrifically before turning to Nian Zhen, wanting to vent her anger.
But before her nails could reach the man, an unknown force wrapped around Nian Zhen’s and pulled him in the opposite direction.
Nian Zhen found himself flying in the sky, winds whisked passed him, sending him straight to the peak.
Swoosh—
The space shuddered as a red and golden spear covered in radiant glow descended from above akin to a meteor. Its sharp blade gave off a monstrous killing intent that tore even the air.
Undra and Freyja turned rigid as dreadful, ice-cold killing intent instantly enveloped the entire mountain.
The two felt grave danger and dodged.
Boom—
The spear they managed to evade hollowed a large part of the land to a pit.
Undra and Freyja swallowed the nervous lumps on their throats.
No doubt, the blow was undoubtedly terrifying.
