CHAPTER 894: CHAPTER 891: YE WANWAN AND SHEN YI SIDE STORY

Shen Yi had reached a state of indifference in the end.

Whatever made her happy, really.

...

At the end of September, it was Ye Wanwan and Shen Yi’s wedding anniversary.

Over the years, Shen Yi had never forgotten it. Even if, over so many years, there wasn’t really any gift left to give, Shen Yi would still prepare a gift for Ye Wanwan and take her out for a romantic candlelit dinner.

This year was no exception.

When Ye Wanwan woke up in the morning, she received flowers from Shen Yi, flowers that, upon seeing, she immediately knew what they were about.

They were all grown by Shen Yi himself in the garden downstairs.

After breakfast, Shen Yi took Ye Wanwan out again.

"Where are we going?" Ye Wanwan asked, curious.

Shen Yi said, "Booked a photography studio."

"Photography studio?" Ye Wanwan seemed puzzled, then continued, "For taking pictures?"

"Mm." Shen Yi nodded.

Ye Wanwan smiled, leaned closer to Shen Yi, and took his arm, "Wedding photos?"

"You can take pictures of anything you like," Shen Yi said.

Ye Wanwan’s smile grew wider, clearly very pleased with the idea of taking wedding photos.

When they arrived at the studio, Ye Wanwan saw the wedding dress and turned to look at Shen Yi, a certain uncertainty in her eyes.

Shen Yi nodded, affirming Ye Wanwan’s thoughts, "It’s the one from our wedding."

The wedding dress in front of Ye Wanwan at this moment was the same one from Ye Wanwan and Shen Yi’s wedding.

At their wedding, Ye Wanwan’s dress was a couture piece worth millions, yet it had been well-preserved, still beautiful despite all these years.

Ye Wanwan sat in front of the makeup mirror, her feelings incredibly complex. Even though she had lived through another life, she had already married Shen Yi when she woke up. So, in Ye Wanwan’s memory, the scene from when she married Shen Yi felt like ages ago.

So long ago that she couldn’t recall what she felt at the time.

But likely nervous, as anyone would be nervous their first time getting married; likely joyful too, as she was marrying Shen Yi with a heart full of love.

Ye Wanwan looked at herself in the mirror, even though she maintained herself well, she was no longer young, quite different from the girl who married Shen Yi back then.

"Mrs. Shen, it’s done," the makeup artist reminded Ye Wanwan.

Ye Wanwan snapped back to reality, whispered, "Thank you."

"Mr. Shen is waiting for you in the lounge," the makeup artist added.

Ye Wanwan nodded, got up, took a deep breath as she looked at herself in the mirror, and then turned to walk towards the lounge.

The heels made a "tap tap tap" sound as they hit the floor. Even though the staff here also wore high heels, Shen Yi seemed to have some sort of psychic connection, raising his head just as Ye Wanwan appeared.

Upon seeing Ye Wanwan in that wedding dress again, Shen Yi was momentarily stunned, as if he truly traveled back in time.

Back then, he had accompanied Ye Wanwan to try on the wedding dress, she was the same—made-up and standing there in that dress.

At that moment, Shen Yi couldn’t help but find his eyes moist with emotion. He couldn’t quite explain what he was feeling deep down; he simply found tears involuntarily welling up.

Ye Wanwan also felt a nasal sting and tried to smile, making an effort to control her emotions.
