Chapter 596: Chapter 594: The Feral Dog

The sound of claws scraping on metal pipes and wires from afar to near was heard by everyone in the elevator, and they all crouched on the floor with panic-stricken faces.

“You two stay inside and protect them.” Su Mo said to Li Qian and Zhao Changsheng with narrowed eyes, holding a Tang Blade in one hand and a Wooden Shield in the other. The elevator had just descended to the eighth floor, and there was still a considerable distance from the ground. If the elevator were damaged now, all these people would die.

On the silent bridge box, a gigantic creature landed on top of the box with a thud, its sharp triangular claws directly piercing through the metal sheet.

Seeing those claws, the researchers instantly recognized what species it was. One of them whispered to Su Mo, “That’s a person transformed by an unknown virus infection, with two deformed heads, capable of spitting toxic liquids from its mouth.”

Su Mo didn’t respond to his comment, simply whispering, “Stay quiet, stay down.”

Then, under everyone’s watchful eyes, she took out a plate of Bok Choy and stuffed a few pieces into her mouth, followed by gulping down some tea.

Everyone was baffled by her outrageous actions.

The monster had reached their doorstep, yet she was still eating…

Su Mo paid no mind to the strange looks she was getting, and, like Spiderman, effortlessly leapt onto the top of the bridge box, her hand sticking to a piece of metal.

The creature, whose two eyeballs were in the same socket, locked eyes with Su Mo, and without hesitation, she thrust the Tang Blade in her hand into its eye.

“Roar!”

In pain, it raised its head, its sharp claws fell again, tearing off large pieces of metal, revealing half of Su Mo’s body. Li Qian took the opportunity to bind the creature’s body with invisible Spiritual Threads, temporarily halting its further movements.

The controls inside the elevator also started malfunctioning, causing it to plummet rapidly.

Su Mo had only a few seconds to deal with this creature.

She had to defeat it before it could spray its venom.

She flipped over and kicked the head, which couldn’t even be called human, climbing on top of it. Her right hand transformed into wood vines, and numerous wooden thorns spread out on her arm, which she violently flung at the creature’s body.

Its body was covered with one blister after another, resembling worm intestines, spreading across its entire body and emitting a strong, pungent smell.

Su Mo avoided its swinging giant tail, nailed the tail to the bridge box with the Tang Blade, then locked eyes again with the head resembling a lizard’s skull.

Two heads burst in an instant; the creature howled in pain. With a strong swipe of its claws, it actually directly cut off the steel wire pulling the descending bridge box, causing it to fall rapidly.

The massive body also crashed heavily onto the bridge box, causing the people still crouched inside to cry out.

Lu Chen had apparently encountered the same issue, but he had Jianxiong tear open the stuck elevator doors and let everyone out first.

When Su Mo crawled back into the elevator, Zhao Changsheng reached out to help her.

Their elevator was forcefully opened by Jianxiong, and everyone climbed out one after another.

Lu Chen caught Su Mo as she emerged and looked her over before asking, “Did something happen on your side?”

Su Mo nodded, “A mutant creature with two heads.”

All of them stood on the first floor of the Technology Building, the main entrance not far ahead. Yet everything inside the building had been released when Hua Nong pressed a button, unleashing all the monsters.

In the lobby on the first floor, dozens of dogs with their ribs protruding through rotting skin slowly emerged from the shadows.

Huddled together, the researchers swallowed hard and said, “Without the drug control, these dogs are the fiercest creatures. We have added a stimulant similar to a rabies drug in their feed. During tests, their bite force was frighteningly strong.”

Jianxiong glanced at them and said gruffly, “You created them yourselves, who else is to blame?”

They didn’t dare to speak and just huddled together silently. In contrast, several women who had been kidnapped picked up weapons lying around and stood behind Su Mo and the others.

“We will do our best to protect ourselves.”

Su Mo saw them in a new light; this women’s army had more mettle than she had expected.

She twisted her neck, “No need, we are enough.”

The mutant dogs had all gathered at the main entrance, barking and dripping saliva on the floor as they charged directly towards them.

Another dog not far from her dashed towards the crowd, and Su Mo’s right hand morphed into a vine, ensnaring the dog’s body and lifting it high before forcefully smashing it onto the marble floor.

The floor tiles shattered under the impact, and the dog’s head was crushed to death.

In the blink of an eye, she killed two dogs and immediately moved towards the next one.

Zhao Changsheng’s whip with each flick took a dog’s life; Li Qian’s Spiritual Threads were equally lethal.

Their skilled mastery of their superpowers meant that within just a few minutes, they had cleared all the mutant dogs.

Someone couldn’t help but say, “Too strong.”

From the elevator shaft, another series of zombie roars echoed, and Jianxiong walked to the tightly closed doors and punched them hard.
