Chapter 444: Chapter 445: Huo Tian Arrives
Brother Dao Jiu looked at Su Changfeng with gratitude and said, “Brother Changfeng, thank you, but this is too much.”
“Then you can make your brothers’ families live better, not just scrape by. You must also want that, right?” Su Changfeng asked.
Dao Jiu was stunned. Of course he wanted that; he had always thought about how to improve his brothers’ families’ lives. But his abilities were limited, and, ensuring safety, he had no other way to make more money. Hence, over the years, he managed only to prevent them from going hungry.
“Brother Changfeng, from now on, my life belongs to you,” Dao Jiu said softly, bowing his head.
Su Changfeng smiled, “Money, to me, was just a meaningless string of numbers. If it can be used for something meaningful, that would be the best. And how much money the Boxing Arena earns depends entirely on you, so you don’t need to thank me.”
Despite knowing this, Dao Jiu understood that even if he had the ability, without this place, he couldn’t make such money.
“Brother Changfeng, I have a request. I hope you can agree,” Dao Jiu said.
Su Changfeng looked at Chen Zehua and said, “Chen Zehua is your brother. If you want him to stay, it’s certainly fine.”
“Thank you very much, Brother Changfeng,” Dao Jiu said as he kicked Chen Zehua.
Kneeling Chen Zehua fell face-first. He couldn’t understand why Dao Jiu was so respectful to Su Changfeng, wondering how capable he could be.
Though unconvinced, Chen Zehua dared not defy Dao Jiu’s will and promptly said, “Thank you, Brother Changfeng.”
“You haven’t seen each other for years, surely you have much to talk about. I won’t intrude,” Su Changfeng said and left.
Chen Zehua stood up, dusted himself off, and said to Dao Jiu, “Ninth Brother, who is this kid? Why do you want to be his follower? I could take him out with a single punch.”
Dao Jiu coldly looked at Chen Zehua, admonishing, “Su Changfeng is my elder brother. If you want to stay, you better respect him in the future, or go where you want otherwise. Furthermore, he’s not as easy to defeat as you think. Back then, he fought me to a draw. Admittedly, I didn’t use my full strength, but he proved himself formidable.”
Chen Zehua’s eyes widened. This guy actually fought Dao Jiu and ended in a draw? That’s impossible!
Dao Jiu was the strongest among the brothers, with few opponents in the forces. Chen Zehua always idolized Dao Jiu. Su Changfeng seemed so young; he shouldn’t be that formidable.
“Ninth Brother, are you joking? Can that skinny guy really fight evenly with you?” Chen Zehua questioned incredulously.
“Right here, with many witnesses. Do I need to lie to you?” Dao Jiu retorted.
Chen Zehua was shocked. If true, he must view Su Changfeng differently, as he was young with great potential.
“Ninth Brother, I’ve been searching for you for many years. I never expected forgiveness but want to care for our brothers’ families together,” said Chen Zehua.
Dao Jiu sighed. The past wasn’t Chen Zehua’s fault. He never blamed Chen Zehua, since it couldn’t be completely assured. Accidents could happen anytime, and Dao Jiu also faulted himself for taking revenge, leading to other brothers dying.
“Stay, and if one day I’m gone too, you can continue caring for our brothers’ families,” Dao Jiu said.
Before this, Dao Jiu avoided dangerous things, but now Su Changfeng had given him much, sparing him fear of death. Now Chen Zehua could take over, even if it meant passing through Hell for their families.
Leaving the Boxing Arena, Su Changfeng leisurely walked the streets, quite relaxed.
Su Changfeng never doubted Dao Jiu, nor investigated his background. But with no clear understanding, he harbored some concern.
However, there was no need to worry now. Su Changfeng clearly felt Dao Jiu’s loyalty, knowing such a man wouldn’t easily betray him.
As he walked, Su Changfeng suddenly stopped as if immobilized, standing in place.
“Grandpa Huo, why are you here?” Su Changfeng asked with surprise as Huo Tian approached.
Su Changfeng knew, without special reason, Huo Tian wouldn’t leave Beijing.
Facing Su Changfeng, Huo Tian still wore a kind, gentle smile.
“Been lazy these days?” Huo Tian inquired.
Only before Huo Tian did Su Changfeng show junior-like demeanor. Hearing Huo Tian’s question, he scratched his head and said awkwardly, “Haven’t practiced much, but exercising daily.”
Huo Tian tapped Su Changfeng’s head, disappointed, “I knew it. Haven’t you remembered what Grandpa Huo told you earlier?”
Su Changfeng shook his head swiftly, replying, “Of course not, I could never forget.”
“Grandpa Huo reminds you once again, wealth is external. Even with tons, it’s useless when facing danger. Only great strength can shape your fate. Understand?” Huo Tian said.
These words made Su Changfeng stand straight. Was this final reminder a sign Grandpa Huo might never appear again?
“Are you going somewhere, Grandpa Huo?” Su Changfeng asked anxiously.
“Not going anywhere. You’re grown now. You should act properly without external reminders,” Huo Tian replied.
Relieved, Su Changfeng laughed, “How can you be considered extraneous? Without your guidance, I wouldn’t persist till now.”
Huo Tian smiled helplessly. Su Changfeng was always self-disciplined. His words about value were aimed to inspire him.
“Grandpa Huo is old now, no need to prove anything, so don’t flatter me,” Huo Tian chuckled.
“Grandpa Huo, why suddenly in Jiang City? Did something major happen in Beijing?” Su Changfeng changed the topic.
Huo Tian’s expression turned very serious as he asked, “Are you aware of the M Country Su Family?”
M Country Su Family!
Su Changfeng’s brow furrowed. He knew of them but not much. So long since, M Country and the Su Family had no connection with Beijing Su Family. Why would Huo Tian suddenly mention this?
