CHAPTER 437: CHAPTER 437: FALLING APART
"Ah!!!"
"Stay calm, don’t panic."
"Keep formation."
"Damn it, I’m going all in with you guys."
Continuous intense sounds of battle came through the public channel, growing more and more chaotic. Clearly, their path had been struck by a wide-ranging attack, and their ranks had been broken. With heavy losses, facing the onslaught, the Military Academies had failed to coordinate effectively, resulting in their inability to leverage true combat strength.
Everyone looked at Lin Fu with a mixture of shock and admiration, realizing that it was indeed the route chosen by Sister Fu that was safe. As expected, an ambush had been set up early on the route provided by the mainframe.
Morris’s expression was grave. In such circumstances, it was too late for him to even think of going back to rescue.
The distance was too great.
"There are too many problems," Lin Fu frowned, ignoring the looks from everyone, "The annual Freshmen Contest is meant to train the students, but the prolonged competition has inadvertently divided us from one another."
"Sister Fu, you’re right. That’s why in the battle against the prisoners we were easily defeated."
"Forget about the others, let’s accelerate our progress."
"Yes!"
Everyone from Elbert pushed forward with high spirits, helping each other, with clear divisions of work and complete trust in their comrades, not stopping for a moment.
The Ice Sea of Helheim Star had a very unique environment. As soon as they stepped onto the ice, everything in their view changed. It wasn’t the perpetual darkness anymore; the ice under their feet glowed with an icy blue light, turning the world a light blue. It was beautiful but dangerous.
Beneath the ice surface lurked ferocious mutant beasts, queuing up to break through the ice and launch vicious attacks. Every attack was resolved one by one by the Combat Sequence troops in an orderly fashion.
Those from other Military Academies who had joined Elbert’s team for various reasons were utterly astounded.
Before any real contact, they often heard all sorts of gossip about Elbert, always providing the Military Academy Students plenty of material for jokes—not fighting each other meant brawling in groups. In fact, nobody really liked Elbert.
Perhaps even hated it.
But this time, Elbert’s disciplined and highly coordinated nature had them completely turning their views around, showing utmost respect.
There were no quarrels, no disagreements or divisive arguments.
The entire Elbert was like a highly functioning precision instrument, high in efficiency, calm, and rational. They were no longer Military Academy freshmen; they were real soldiers.
...
On another marching path, a team had been waiting early in a canyon formed by the frozen landscape, watching from a distance the fierce battle underway. By that time, the forces composed of three major prisoners were thoroughly united, launching a relentless assault on the Military Academy Students.
The team was utterly scattered, forming many small circles of battle. Individuals like Jesse were specifically targeting the experts from each academy.
Prisoners controlled the seed players from each academy, fighting one-on-one, two-on-one battles.
Slaughter, death...
Blood dyed the blue ice surface, forming piercing patches of red.
"This year’s batch of freshmen just won’t do!" said the Silver-haired Man with a mocking smile at the corner of his mouth, "You can tell from the Military Academy freshmen that inside the Empire, disintegration has already begun."
"This is the perfect timing for our rise," said the man with black hair respectfully beside him.
"The time isn’t right yet," the Silver-haired Man shook his head, "The Galaxy Empire is far stronger than it appears. If it weren’t for their deep foundation, how could they afford to keep courting death."
