CHAPTER 140: 140 - THAT’S A TERRIBLE EXCUSE!

Qingyi woke up at sunrise, his body still a little sore.

He grunted softly and opened the system store, buying a low-quality recovery pill before getting up and dressing as usual.

His long black hair fell loosely over his broad shoulders, his pure white robes covered his body while his incomparably beautiful face bore the same gentle smile as always.

He left his room and walked through the corridors until he entered the large garden.

His eyes soon focused on the solitary figure of Qingxue, sitting with her back to him.

His gaze traveled down her slender, sensual figure, her black dress hugging her slim, delicate waist, tightening around her wide hips and perfectly marking the curve of her shapely, full, perky buttocks.

Qingyi admired her for a brief moment before his eyes followed her vision to the sea of golden clouds that covered the city and stretched for kilometers.

Her residence was one of the tallest in the entire sect, rising high above the clouds and second only to the sect leader’s palace.

The view was naturally beautiful.

Without those clouds, one could probably see the entire city and a considerable part of the duchy controlled by the sect.

After a moment in silence, he bowed, bringing his fists together. "Disciple Long Qingyi greets the master."

Xu Qingxue turned softly, her cold, serene eyes meeting those of her disciple.

"Are you rested?" she asked, standing up gracefully.

"Yes, master," Qingyi nodded.

"Good... A mission was recently issued by the sect protection pavilion. You will complete it together with three other core disciples. Hua Juechen will lead the mission."

"Juechen? You mean the sect leader’s disciple?" Qingyi raised his head.

He had seen the sect leader’s disciple from afar and, although he didn’t know how powerful he was, he knew well that he was not a figure to be underestimated.

"Yes," Qingxue removed a small talisman from her spatial ring and tossed it to Qingyi.

"This carries a thread of my Qi. Use it if necessary. Meet Hua Juechen at the sect’s mission pavilion. He should be waiting for you there by now."

Qingyi took the talisman, looking at it for a brief moment before putting it away and bowing to his master one last time.

"Thank you, master. I won’t disappoint you!"

Immediately afterwards, he walked away, leaving her alone again.

"I know you won’t," she whispered, a soft smile playing on her lips before she suppressed it, realizing she was blushing.

Her thoughts were drifting again. She needed to cultivate and calm her heart.

Qingyi crossed the sect quickly, his eyes studying the people passing by with curiosity before focusing on an imposing figure.

It was a man in simple robes, his body over two meters tall towering above everyone there and his brutish face bearing an honest smile.

Next to him were young men of less eye-catching appearance.

One of them was an ordinary man with long black hair and an inexpressive face, while the other was a man of little beauty whose face seemed strangely familiar to Qingyi.

The man of little beauty turned towards him, his facial expression immediately distorting.

"Are you the damn pretty face who attacked my brother?" he roared, approaching in strides.

His cultivation at the peak of the Golden Core realm exploded, but it barely affected Qingyi.

"So that’s where I recognized that face from." Qingyi thought, they were two brothers truly blessed with everything but beauty and personality.

"I, Tang Ruhu, will have my revenge!" The ugly man declared, but stopped when he felt a powerful hand fall on his shoulder, squeezing hard enough to make him let out a grunt of pain.

"You can deal with your personal tantrums later. For now, let’s focus on the mission. Of course, we can complete it with one less man if you wish."

Those words made Ruhu shudder.

He knew full well that it wasn’t Long Qingyi who was being threatened, it was he himself.

"N-not at all, Senior Brother Juechen. I was just testing Junior Brother Qingyi, hehehehe," Ruhu smiled awkwardly.

"Good!" Juechen returned the smile, turning to Qingyi.

"It’s a pleasure to meet you, Junior Brother Qingyi. I’m Hua Juechen, disciple of the sect leader." Juechen spoke, shifting his gaze to the man of little beauty.

"This is Tang Ruhu, disciple of the internal affairs elder."

He turned, pointing at the ordinary-looking man. "That’s Xu Hantao, disciple of the war hall elder."

"Long Qingyi greets the senior brothers," Qingyi bowed, his face a little surprised at Juechen’s way of acting.

He had heard of his honest and straightforward personality, but he hadn’t expected it to be so much.

"There’s no need to be so decorous. Just call us by our names. A talent like you deserves it," Juechen slapped Qingyi hard on the back as his smile widened.

"Then I’ll follow big brother Juechen," Qingyi smiled back. Juechen’s honest personality was by no means unpleasant.

"Perfect! We’re leaving right now. We should be there in less than two weeks," Juechen said, ignoring the curious looks from the external disciples as they left.

"What will the mission be, exactly?" Qingyi asked, but Juechen was interrupted before he could answer.

"Husband!" The drawling, seductive voice of a voluptuous, tanned beauty played in Qingyi’s ears.

He turned around and was greeted by a huge pair of breasts hitting his chest while thick, creamy thighs wrapped around his waist in a tight embrace.

Without hesitation, Feiyan pushed her lips against his, their tongues meeting as his hands gripped her hips, searching for support.

"The master told me about you leaving. Were you really going on this dangerous mission without even letting your wives know?" she whispered, the looks of envy and judgment around them not affecting her at all.

"I’m sorry, dear... I only found out about the urgency of the mission now. My master sent me off immediately."

"That’s a terrible excuse!" She puffed out her cheeks before pulling a small pouch out of her space ring and handing it to Qingyi.
