August 24, 1822

    This is my first journal entry since I received this for my 13th birthday. It matches the journal my twin brother, Cecile, got. He thought that journaling was a waste of time so I doubt that he''ll ever use it.

    Oop. I’m getting off track. I almost forgot to introduce myself. I’m Cybelle Edlyn Van-Allen. The first, and only daughter of the Van-Allen household.

    Today was a good day, I started taking riding lessons with Cecile; despite Marnie''s disapproval. Marnie says it isn''t "lady-like." Luckily my mother approved since she herself learned to ride a horse from a very young age., so Marnie reluctantly agreed.

    She made me agree to take both dance and piano lessons as well to make up for it; I hate the piano but at least it should get Marnie off my back for a while. I know that she''s in charge of my education but still. She could let me have a little more free rein.

    Ah, I gotta go, Marnie''s calling me.
