CHAPTER 17: CHAPTER 17: I WOULD NEVER STOP LOVING RUAN RUAN

Su Ruan wasn’t a good drinker to begin with, and today she was excited, so she drank a bit more.

Unexpectedly, she was fine while drinking, but as soon as the cold wind blew, the alcohol started to hit her.

Hearing Lu Shinian’s voice, Su Ruan tried her best to open her eyes wide, wanting to see the person in front of her clearly.

"Mmm."

It was as if a fog was covering her sight, making it hard to see clearly, but the scent lingering in her nose reminded her that the person holding her was Lu Shinian, someone she was very familiar with.

Her body involuntarily relaxed, and she mumbled, "I drank, so what."

"Don’t worry about me."

He curled his lips into a smile, picked up Su Ruan, tightened his hold, and with a stern face, walked toward the hover car.

After getting into the car, he set the destination and let the hover car fly along the predetermined track.

In the back seat, Lu Shinian tightly held Su Ruan’s waist, his voice low and husky, "Ruan Ruan doesn’t want me to take care of you?"

Su Ruan blinked, her extraordinarily beautiful eyes glistening with a touch of moisture, having a gut feeling of danger as she said, seemingly covering up, "I didn’t drink that much."

"You’re drunk." Lu Shinian’s tone was deep, and his eyes, hidden beneath long lashes, were also somewhat profound.

"But I really didn’t drink much." Su Ruan slightly adjusted her posture, her hands wrapped around his neck, explaining, "Today Shen Shi wanted to drug me, but her plan backfired, and she got caught in her own trap."

"When I left, Mother had already gone upstairs to find Shen Shi, and the second floor was in chaos. She must have seen Shen Shi entangled with those men."

Su Ruan’s long lashes trembled, her lips pressed lightly together.

She lifted her eyes, staring straight at Lu Shinian, her gaze seemingly clear, yet lacking focus, "Am I so bad that you won’t like me anymore?"

Her voice was already soft and tender, and now with the alcohol, it carried a coquettish tone, softening Lu Shinian’s heart. The anger that had been boiling just moments ago miraculously dissipated.

"Never." He answered Su Ruan very firmly, "I will never dislike Ruan Ruan."

He raised a hand, ruffling her hair, feeling the softness under his palm, a rare smile flashed in his eyes, "Ruan Ruan is not bad at all."

"They are the ones who are bad."

Although he didn’t know exactly what had happened, Shen Shi dared to try to drug his Ruan Ruan, and even if she didn’t succeed in the end, this debt he would still hold against Shen Shi.

A dark gleam crossed Lu Shinian’s eyes, filled with a hint of bloodthirsty intent, but it was quickly suppressed.

Su Ruan blinked, staring straight at Lu Shinian.

As they spoke, the hover car had already arrived at Lu Villa’s entrance.

Lu Shinian carried Su Ruan out of the car, whispering, "We’re home."

He stride into the villa, holding Su Ruan.

The villa was quite empty, not even a single robot present.

Lu Shinian had never liked household robots, and before Su Ruan married him, he rarely came home, and even if he did, it was just for a night before heading to the front lines again.

To him, a home was merely a temporary stop.

But now, because of Su Ruan’s presence, home held a different meaning.

Lu Shinian looked down at Su Ruan, lost in thought, with a slight smile on his lips.

"What is Ruan Ruan thinking about?"
