The Cultivator's Reborn to 1970s
Chapter 287 - 245
CHAPTER 287: CHAPTER 245
"Auntie, are we not allowed to bring so much stuff on the train?"
"Enough, I know, stop nagging, can’t you see I’m counting? You keep talking and interrupting my count... Where was I? Tiantian, come over here and quickly pack up these things I’ve already counted."
Lan Tian looked up at the sky, not having heard, pack what exactly, there was no space to pack. Just as she looked up, Zhao Li came over and yanked at her, "Hurry up, what are you staring at the sky for? The weather’s fine, a big sun, scorching to death. Quick, pack, or I’ll get it mixed up and have to count it all over again. Why can’t you be more considerate?"
Lan Tian: "..." Lan Tian was at a loss for words being complained at by Zhao Li for being inconsiderate.
Alright, it wasn’t wrong that the family knew she could make things disappear, but they had also made it clear it had to remain a secret, saying it shouldn’t be done in front of outsiders. It hadn’t been long since they agreed on that.
"Girl, just pack it, Hua Zi is one of our own," said Grandma Sun, which made Mo Junhua’s heart burst with joy.
Did you hear that? Grandma said he was one of the family, confirming his status in Grandma Sun’s house, his place as the girl’s man was secure for a billion, everlasting years. A single word from Grandma Sun was worth more than a thousand words from others, he had to hold onto this golden leg tightly.
Alright, even Grandma Sun was siding with Mo Junhua, Lan Tian rolled her eyes, Mo Junhua would find out sooner or later, and with a wave of her hand, a pile of stuff vanished into thin air.
Mo Junhua heard but did not understand, not knowing what Zhao Li and Grandma Sun meant. The girl waved her hand and a pile of things disappeared, his pupils shrank, but his gaze calmly moved away, the shock within him was indescribable.
Legends say Immortals have unfathomable abilities, capable of moving heaven and earth, summoning clouds and vapor, leveling mountains and overturning the seas. Witnessing it with one’s own eyes was really magical, this moment even further solidified Mo Junhua’s resolve to seek immortality, to accompany the girl for an eternity, through thick and thin, till the seas run dry and the rocks crumble.
Mo Yuanle borrowed an ox-cart from the village to take the two to the train station. Grandma Sun and Zhao Li, after walking them to the gate and seeing there was still room in the cart, sat in it without a second thought. Mo Yuanle did not speak, turning his head to look at the two, indicating it was their cue to get off voluntarily. Grandma Sun, like a stabilizer, just smoothed her temples and remained seated without budging. Mo Yuanle’s gaze passed over the elderly woman, looking at Zhao Li.
Zhao Li patted off the non-existent dust on herself, smoothed her sleeves and collar, and when she caught Mo Yuanle looking at her, she glared at him, "What are you looking at? Let’s go, aren’t you going to have dinner later?"
Lan Tian glanced at Grandma Sun and Zhao Li; the clothes on the two had already been changed, which were not the same ones they wore in the morning. Lan Tian did not notice when they had changed, but they were fast. And so, it turned into a full family outing, the ox-cart slowly moved forward, as the view of the courtyard became more and more distant, with Grandma Sun and Zhao Li casually chatting, the ox-cart bouncing along, Lan Tian thought back to when she first went to Shanghai to study, and how her whole family had seen her off.
As the saying goes, when a child travels a thousand miles, the mother worries, which perfectly described Grandma Sun’s family. Lan Tian had great abilities, and Grandma Sun and the others were always worried about her suffering outside.
Zhao Li was in high spirits and even started singing. The melodious song floated with the wind towards the distance, Lan Tian tilted her head and leaned on Mo Junhua’s shoulder, watching the clouds roll by in the sky.
In this life, her happiness was right here.
...
At the train station entrance, Granny Lin and Lin Guofu were also waiting for Lan Tian. From a distance, seeing the approaching ox-cart, Granny Lin nudged Lin Guofday with a push, "Third brother, check if that’s Miss Lan Tian and company."
Lin Guofu glanced ahead, his face twitching, glancing at his newly tailored suit, really not wanting to go over, it didn’t match his graceful demeanor.
The train station was bustling with people coming and going, seeing off and picking up at the station entrance, parked not were cars then bicycles, men and women conveying affection through their eyes, a scene much too picturesque.
The beautiful scene was ruined by an ox cart rolling in, such a buzzkill and such an eyesore. There he was, a dashing young master, with an ox cart in the background—the image was too horrifying to contemplate.
Mo Junhua and Lan Tian spotted Granny Lin waiting at the station.
"Grandma, aunt, Granny Lin and the others are here too." Mo Junhua turned back and whispered to Grandma Sun. Lan Tian glanced at Mo Junhua and nonchalantly turned her head away. She was really good at sucking up and playing cute.
When they got closer, Mo Junhua helped Grandma Sun down; Lan Tian and Zhao Li followed, and Mo Yuanle disembarked, leading the ox cart behind the group as they walked towards Granny Lin.
It had been many years since the train station platform had witnessed such a novel event. There were those who came to gawk, those who reveled in it, those who mocked, and those who looked down with disdain—all sorts of gazes were present.
As Mo Yuanle got off the road, two young girls came walking towards them. The ox cart stopped, and the ox turned to graze on the roadside grass. The breath from the old ox blew towards the girls. Mo Yuanle saw it and backed the ox cart up a bit so as not to fumigate the young ladies.
"Girls, are you two alright?" Mo Yuanle came over to check if the two young girls were unhurt.
The girls had sour expressions, looking utterly disgusted as they stepped back a few paces, fanning under their noses before standing still. Pointing at him, one scolded, "Where did this dead old man come from? Can’t you drive properly? Always heading right toward people, are you blind? If you’ve damaged our clothes, can you afford to pay for it?"
Up front, Grandma Sun and Granny Lin were gossiping as old sisters do. Zhao Li was chatting and laughing with Lin’s eldest daughter-in-law, while the three youths, including Lan Tian, walked behind. They heard the commotion and turned back; their faces immediately darkened and they walked towards it.
Mo Junhua saw Lan Tian suddenly turn and head back. He found it odd, so he turned around and saw two young girls pointing and yelling at Mo Yuanle not far away. Damn it, he thought, those two girls had stepped on her red line.
In no time at all, a crowd had gathered around Mo Yuanle and the others to enjoy the show, more and more people accumulating around, not understanding what the two young girls were doing, pointing and scolding at an honest rural man.
"What’s going on?" someone from behind asked those ahead, "Did the girls get pickpocketed?"
Lan Tian, with a cold face, squeezed through the crowd and went into the center, sending onlookers stumbling all over as they tried to avoid her. They initially wanted to scold her, but seeing she was a beautiful girl, they swallowed their words and instead opened up a path for her voluntarily.
Lan Tian approached the two girls with a sweet smile, "Grandma."
"Pfft!" The onlookers burst into laughter. Some of them remembered Lan Tian—this beautiful girl who had ridden on the ox cart. Their view of her changed. The rural man being scolded must be her father.
As if Lan Tian didn’t hear the surrounding laughter, she continued, "My dad told you to go back and take your medicine. You ran out here without taking it, and he’s really worried. What if you have a fit again? You might end up being sent back to the mental hospital."
Lan Tian thought she was not only crazy but like a mad dog, lashing out at everyone she saw.
The other girl, upon hearing her friend spoken of in such a manner, covered her mouth and giggled. The unusual glances from the surrounding crowd made the girl furious with embarrassment.
"Who are you calling crazy? You’re the crazy one! What I’m saying to him is none of your business!" she retorted angrily.
Lan Tian gave her a cold glance and then turned to smile eerily at the other girl.
