At that moment, Mo Junhua’s voice came from the secluded path nearby. Lan Tian turned her head, picked up her sword, and rushed over.
"What are you doing here?" Mo Junhua glanced at Ji Feng, who insisted on following like a clingy young man, and found his presence thoroughly displeasing. Various annoyances flared up in his heart.
"What I’m doing is none of your damned business. What, do I have to report to you? Anyway, I’m not here to see you." Ji Feng gave Mo Junhua a cold sidelong glance. He was indeed here to give Mo Junhua a hard time. When Mo Junhua felt unhappy and annoyed, that’s when Ji Feng felt happy and pleased.
Mo Junhua snorted coldly, "As long as you’re not looking for the girl, indeed it’s not my business."
A sardonic smile curled the corners of Ji Feng’s lips, "I’m not looking for the girl; I’m looking for Lan Tian."
Mo Junhua laughed angrily, never having encountered someone so shameless.
"The girl is naive and has had little contact with the outside world. She’s unaware of the malicious and deceitful hearts out there, easily mistaking a wolf for a dog."
Wolves are cunning and wilful, wild and hard to train, ungrateful creatures that seize any chance to rebel. No matter how well you treat them, it’s pointless. Otherwise, the term ’ingrate’ wouldn’t exist.
Ji Feng understood what Mo Junhua meant by calling him an ingrate and found it amusing, actually laughing out loud.
"I will never treat her that way," Ji Feng laughed meaningfully because Lan Tian is the reason for my existence, "As for you, that’s debatable."
Their eyes met in the air, an undercurrent of tension between them. Neither would avert their gaze first, as if sparks could be heard crackling in the void.
"The girl is my woman, a wife married with all proper ceremonies. Since you’re here to see her, tell me, does that concern me or not?" During the day, Mo Junhua hadn’t been idle and had delved into Ji Feng’s family background, uncovering only superficial details which were enough for him. "You also come from a military family; you know the discipline. Interfering with a military marriage is illegal. Even if you are his grandson, you can’t ignore the law. The head of state is upright and impartial. Surely, he wouldn’t want to watch you err."
Of course, given Ji Feng’s family background, whether there would be any penalty for disrupting a military marriage was up to them.
Ji Feng snorted coldly, "Anyone can say that, but you’re the last person who should." Knowing that interfering with a military marriage is illegal, yet this man had an affair in his previous life and even drove away Xiao Lan. Now he’s lecturing me about it – I’ve never met someone so shameless.
The two men were still in a silent stand-off when Mo Junhua suddenly felt a chill race up his spine.
Danger!
Mo Junhua, who long walked on the edge of life and death, felt an alarm in his heart. His body, moving faster than his brain could process, jumped aside, narrowly avoiding a chilling blade wind that grazed his nose.
"Bang"
The spot where he had just stood now bore a large hole. The fierce wind sent stones and dirt flying around, completely wrecking the nearby flowerbed. Ji Feng, standing merely an inch from the hole, was surrounded by a faint green glow. The flying debris as if sentient, automatically veered away from him.
Servants who came running over at the sound of the commotion stood dumbfounded at the sight of the massive hole.
With lingering fear, Mo Junhua looked at the hole; had that sword wind hit him, he would have been reduced to nothing but dust. Seeing how Ji Feng was still spotlessly clean in contrast to the dirt and grass on himself, no comparison was needed; just the thought was chilling.
"Little girl." He turned back and looked at Lan Tian with a particularly aggrieved expression, and glanced at the weapon in the girl’s hand. His brow twitched; this was not going to be an easy situation to get through!
Lan Tian came over from the other side, and upon seeing Mo Junhua’s figure, she swung her sword at him, creating a Protective Shield for Ji Feng beside her with a flick of her hand, looking like she was ready to flay and disembowel Mo Junhua, the embodiment of fierce evil.
How dare he play the victim? Lan Tian swung her sword again with a flick of her wrist, and Mo Junhua, seeing Lan Tian’s motion, immediately dodged to the side.
"Bang!" The rockery shattered into several pieces and smashed to the ground.
Mo Junhua had already mentally prepared himself for the events of yesterday—he was ready for the girl to wake up heartlessly and retaliate. He didn’t mind getting beaten to within an inch of his life, as long as the final step of the wedding night was completed. His heart settled only when he considered the girl to be completely his, from head to toe.
Lan Tian approached with her sword, her demeanor raging. With each step closer, her facial expression changed in a flash: from towering rage, to chilling coldness, then calmness. By the time she reached Mo Junhua, her smile blossomed like a flower.
Mo Junhua’s heart thumped in uncertainty—it was a sign he was going to freak out.
"Brother Junhua, I just really love you so much," Lan Tian said, smiling with her eyes curving sweetly, her joyful smile dazzling everyone around her. Without warning, the next second, her sword viciously struck towards him.
"I’ll hack you to death, you damn dog!" Lan Tian’s face twisted viciously, with a murderous light flashing in her eyes, each move more ruthless than the last, "Hack you to death, you’re nothing but trash!"
The shift in tone was too abrupt; one second she was a fairy, the next a demon, and the crowd just couldn’t accept it.
"Little girl, little girl, why are you hitting me?" Mo Junhua didn’t dare fight back and ran away with his head in his hands, his face the picture of innocence.
The sword in Lan Tian’s hand was a Magic Artifact, highly lethal. With one swing of her sword, sand and rocks flew about, and a gust of wind made the bystanders sway unsteadily, tilting and stumbling back several steps before they could regain their footing.
Where Mo Junhua had just been standing, a deep ravine was left behind, and the nearby flower bed was also ruined, with flowers chopped at mid-stem into several pieces, leaving a mess of fallen petals and leaves.
"Ah! The young lady is trying to kill the son-in-law." Thanks to the cutting wind waking the onlooking servants, seeing the cold and grim blade in Lan Tian’s hand, they screamed and ran to call the old master over.
Ji Feng was utterly confused, unsure what this whole scene was about.
What on earth had Mo Junhua done? Little Lan was red-eyed with rage. But to be honest, seeing Mo Junhua being chased and beaten by Little Lan felt incredibly refreshing. Ah, I’m a kind person, how can I take pleasure in other’s misfortune? As a soldier, such thoughts were inappropriate.
Watching the chaos in the garden, it didn’t feel quite right for him to stand by and enjoy the show, so he took a couple of steps forward to offer some advice, sowing discord with his words.
"Little Lan, can’t we talk this out? No matter what, Mr. Mo is the First Battalion Commander; it’s not appropriate to act like this. Put the sword down first. It’s okay to wreck the garden, but what if you hurt someone?" Then he turned and said to Mo Junhua, "And you, shouldn’t a grown man like you be a bit more yielding? If you did something wrong, just apologize to Little Lan. Little Lan is not unreasonable."
When Mo Junhua heard the young man Ji Feng speak, he knew there would be no sweet fruit for him, not believing Ji Feng would have anything nice to say about him. The hostility was thick, nearly written on his face as, "Mo Junhua, go die!"
Catching a glimpse of Lan Tian’s furious eyes, Mo Junhua knew he was in for it.
Lan Tian was so angry she couldn’t vent it all. She was just having a nice bath, but not only did she not finish it, she ended up losing her virginity. She still hadn’t figured out exactly how the two of them ended up sleeping together, as she had absolutely no recollection of it. The groggy experience of being slept with was disgusting to her.
