CHAPTER 352: CHAPTER 306

"Did you find the materials you wanted?" While asking Zhou Sisi, Lan Tian turned and went downstairs.

"Found them." Zhou Sisi raised the books in her hand, came over, and took Lan Tian’s arm, "Let’s go together!"

Lan Tian glanced at the arm on her hand, said nothing, and his eyes concealed the coldness within. By now, if she still didn’t realize that Zhou Sisi was deliberately targeting her, she had no business mixing in. That being said, what was Zhou Sisi clinging to her for?

Lan Tian kept quiet but Zhou Sisi had plenty to say. She looked back at the two following them and made faces at Lan Tian, "You two have a special relationship, like a guardian angel. You’re so pretty, do they like you?"

Lan Tian sneered at Zhou Sisi, whose demeanor was casual and appeared straightforward, as if she didn’t know her words could cause trouble. Lan Tian wasn’t sure if Zhou Sisi was genuinely straightforward or had a hidden agenda.

"I feel like I’m dreaming, encountering two important figures from the school in one day. I want to get to know them too, Lan Tian, please introduce me," Zhou Sisi begged with her hands clasped together, putting on a cute expression.

"Okay." Lan Tian stopped, turned around, and waved to the two behind, "Come on, you two."

Zhang Shenjing and Hua Kongque, thinking Lan Tian needed something, quickened their pace and came over. They looked at Lan Tian and then her classmate, "What’s up?"

"Sisi, this is Mr. Zhang, and this is Brother Hua, I’m sure you already know them," then pointing at Zhou Sisi, she introduced, "Mr. Zhang, Brother Hua, this is my classmate Zhou Sisi."

After Lan Tian finished introducing them, she moved away and stood aside, retired from the scene and content to be a silent backdrop.

"Senior Zhang, Senior Hua, hello." Zhou Sisi was shy and feigned innocence, looking up at the two men, "Senior, do you remember the last time we called Lan Tian together?"

Madman’s face was frosty, and with a sidelong glance at Zhou Sisi, he walked past everyone and left, while Peacock nodded as a response to Zhou Sisi’s words and followed Madman.

Zhou Sisi’s expression was incredibly colorful; she turned from green to red, then from red to white, looking at the departing figures and looked pitifully at Lan Tian.

"They’re just like that, don’t take it to heart. You’ll get used to them after a while. Let’s go!" Lan Tian struggled to suppress a smile at the corner of her mouth as she turned to leave. Although she called him a lunatic, they were actually princes of prominent families in Beijing, extremely proud at heart, not the sort Zhou Sisi could try to befriend. It’s not that they despised those of lower status, they chose friends based on compatibility, and Zhou Sisi’s scheming was no secret from those two experienced men.

Seeing Lan Tian leaving and no one to stand up for her, Zhou Sisi bit her lip, ran over, and took Lan Tian’s arm again, smiling broadly.

Approaching the fork in the road, Lan Tian slowed down and glanced at her, "Where are you going?"

"It’s nearly noon, of course, I’m going to the cafeteria for lunch. Class hasn’t ended yet, there will be no one in the cafeteria; it’s the perfect time for us to go without queuing." She stuck out her tongue after speaking.

"Unfortunately for you, I’m going home to eat. I’ll be going first. Bye." Letting go of her arm, she dropped Zhou Sisi’s wrist and walked away without looking back.

"Hey," Zhou Sisi shouted silently, watching Lan Tian’s retreating figure and slowly lowering her hand. Lan Tian hadn’t mentioned bringing her along for lunch; she couldn’t shamelessly suggest tagging along herself!

Zhou Sisi felt she couldn’t do something that shameless.

Walking past the next building, she saw Madman and Peacock sitting on the garden bench downstairs. Noticing Lan Tian’s arrival, they got up to approach her.

Lan Tian sighed resignedly, knowing they wouldn’t back off so easily.

"Little Lan, that classmate isn’t as straightforward as she seems, she’s too crafty to befriend," Madman advised genuinely.

"They weren’t friends to begin with. I’m going home to eat, what are your plans?" Her gaze circled the two; surely they wouldn’t follow her home for a meal.

"We’ll drive you home," Peacock said.

Lan Tian curled her lip; she wasn’t really going home, but since she couldn’t shake them off, she decided to make use of them.

"Fine, if you want to follow, then follow. I’m going out for a bit. Let’s go!" The three boarded Madman’s car, with Madman and Peacock in the front and Lan Tian alone in the back. Lan Tian pulled out a map from her bag and handed it to them, "We have to visit all the marked places. Drive!"

Without a word, Madman and Peacock headed towards the nearest location.

"Alright, hold tight," the car zoomed off like an arrow.

Through the rearview mirror, Madman saw Lan Tian seated calmly, as stable as Mount Taishan, and he pressed the gas pedal to the floor.

Crazy! Lan Tian cursed silently in her heart, anchoring herself firmly in her seat.

"Sister, if you’re looking for something, tell us so we can help. It’s easy to miss things alone," Peacock glanced at the person in the back and said.

"It’s not that I don’t want to tell you, it’s that you wouldn’t believe me because I don’t even know if it exists; I can only rely on intuition, I’ll know once I’ve seen it." Lan Tian spoke earnestly, so they refrained from asking further.

The first stop was Qinghe Palace. Once they arrived, Madman found a parking spot, and the three got out of the car. Lan Tian looked at the "Qinghe Palace" inscription in front of the palace, stepped up, and walked in.

Qinghe Palace was just an ordinary palace, seemingly a residence of an Emperor’s consort, with a history of over three hundred years, and the country had restored it once.

After walking around the palace, feeling nothing, Lan Tian waved them towards the next palace.

As night fell, they had visited all the palaces on the map, and Lan Tian found no clues. Not even a hair was found at He Xu Palace. Having asked the palace guards, they all said the surviving palaces from the war were all in Beijing; if a place wasn’t on the map, it simply didn’t exist.

"Sister, do you still want to keep going? I, Brother Hua, am hungry. How about we have dinner and then continue?" Hua Kongque looked at his watch; it was past eight in the evening, he turned to Lan Tian touching her stomach.

Since Lan Tian’s Foundation Establishment, she didn’t need food and didn’t feel hungry, her meals were just for show; Madman and Peacock hadn’t eaten lunch, accompanying her from noon until evening, and Hua Kongque was getting hungry. Being a grown man, he felt hungry, let alone Lan Tian, a young lady who must be starving but was too embarrassed to mention it. He had to interrupt Lan Tian’s contemplation.

Looking at the colorful lights outside the window and hearing Hua Kongque’s suggestion, Lan Tian said with embarrassment, "Brother Hua makes a point, let’s have dinner first, my treat."

There was no rush, after dinner, she would send the two back and run another check herself.
