CHAPTER 450: BROKEN SEAL

I spent several hours floating in space. It was all I could do to try and adjust to this new environment and my super unpleasant "new body."

The flood of information and sensations was something that took time to get used to. I decided to think of the positives. Even though being so sensitive ruins my sex life, it has the advantage of giving me a new perception of reality.

These many hours spent watching this mess of information made me understand much better what magic is and the workings of the universe through particles and molecules.

My internal biology also changed quite a bit to adjust to the new gas I use to "breathe" now. It’s interesting, I guess, but I need to find a way to reduce these capabilities.

I can’t return to the planet being so sensitive to my surroundings, but I’ll think about that later. For now, these changes are what allow me to treat space as if it were a natural environment for my body.

’Wings don’t work here... but if I make them like this... it should work.’ I decide to start moving before a rock hits me, something that’s already happened. Out of nowhere, a rock hit my head a few hours ago.

The wings made of darkness quickly begin to grow. They have a wingspan much larger than my body and are very thin, almost translucent. In fact, they are so thin they’re closer to a cluster of particles in the shape of wings.

"It seems I can make them even thinner... but this is enough." I begin to release mana in an extremely controlled manner. My new perception of existence allows me to manipulate magic with such precise and absolute control that I can send mana along a path through the wings, even though they are this thin.

Quickly, the wings begin to generate a small gravitational field and manipulate the gravity around them, using it to move me. I start flapping the wings and begin to move.

"This is so strange..." I murmur as I move through space. I can’t really say I’m flying; that would be a lie. It’s closer to me swimming in a sea of particles and cosmic radiation through gravity.

The wings are so thin they would tear easily with any blow, so their only real use is to allow me to "swim" through space at high speeds.

"The [Moon] of this world is so big." I look at what would be this planet’s moon. It’s larger than planet Earth, being proportional to the gigantic planet below.

’Why is magic like this?’ As I head towards the moon, I notice how strange magic is. The particles touching my body are unpleasant; being touched by anything material is like being submerged in sticky fluids.

But magic isn’t like that. It’s smooth, light, and not attached to anything. Unlike molecules that bond to others, magic simply exists without connecting to anything.

And because it doesn’t attach to anything, even when it touches my body, it isn’t exactly unpleasant, just strange—as if an ultra-thin membrane were near me but never truly touching me.

’...’ I move my hand, grabbing a handful of magic. Because of my new perception of what’s near me and my new vision that allows me to see such small things, I can interact with the quantum world directly and literally.

"Any scientist would go crazy knowing there’s a being who can interact with the quantum world while being so large," I say, sounding a little proud of myself.

No being visible to the naked eye can truly interact with the quantum world directly like I’m doing. We are too big and too hot for that. But I can, because of the changes in my body.

The fact is, my adaptation didn’t just change my way of breathing; it changed my entire body’s biology to adjust to what I’m breathing now. So a lot of things have changed inside me.

’It’s better I stop wasting time. It’s fascinating and all, but that’s not the focus!’ I release magic as I approach the moon. My control over magic has become so "perfect" that in seconds I cover the entire moon with a thin magical film that functions as a radar connected to my body.

’Damn, this shines so bright... My eyes really feel uncomfortable with this.’ I’m already adapted to it, but I’m not used to it, so all these vibrant colors around me are strange.

"Found it? Just like that?! These changes are incredible..." I start heading towards the only spot on the moon where the magic doesn’t circulate, because something there is draining the ambient magic in a stable and controlled way to make everything seem normal.

But now that I see such minute details, I know it’s not normal. There’s such an infinitesimal difference that I would have ignored it before and taken much longer to find the seal.

’My movements are so smooth and light... How fast I am now is crazy...’ Even though just changing from oxygen to hydrogen might not seem like a big change, it really is.

In the common Earth atmosphere, I must have become about 40 times faster. In higher atmospheres, I became about 60 times faster. And here in the vacuum of space, I became 120 times faster, showing how this change in my body kind of made me stronger.

In the past, with the power I had now, I would never achieve this speed. I have the speed of a level 170,000 Pandora! In other words, a massive attribute increase.

And there’s still my body. The adaptation greatly increased my body’s resistance. I’m between 500 and 1200 times more resistant than before. I never thought adaptation would make me so much more powerful.

’It’s no wonder my race is feared for its adaptation... I severely underestimated how powerful adaptation is...’ I’m excited to free my sister and train with her! Imagine how strong I’ll become when I fight someone who adapts as fast as I do!

"...Finally!! I’ve waited so long for this!!" I land on the moon in the part where I feel the strange magic. The sensation of my bare feet touching the ground is a little strange.

’Uncomfortable... dirty... repulsive... There must be something I can do about this feeling.’ I decide to ignore it for now.

"The seal is here... but where?" I don’t feel the presence of anything, even with detection.

’Perhaps the seal isn’t something physical...’ I decide to focus my vision on things I’m actively trying to ignore, and with that, I notice a "vacuum" floating nearby.

All particles, matter, and even magic are absent from this point. It’s like a void already occupied by something else.

’I see. So this is the seal... It’s nothing like what Lilith described... Maybe it’s also because my vision is very different from other beings now... So it’s my fault.’ I approach this thing while stopping my focus, because staying focused makes my brain a mess of visual stimuli.

"Lilith said I could overload and break the seal with magic... So..." I thrust my hands into this empty area, immediately feeling my hands touch something strange.

’There’s clearly something there...’ I begin to release my magic while manipulating it with mastery to cover the area and infiltrate this thing. It takes a while until I find a weak point in the magical structure.

And by "a while," I mean literally a while, because I spend the next two hours just looking for an opening where magic can infiltrate this seal.

And when I finally find it, I attack with everything, releasing a violent wave of magic. However, instead of just stupidly throwing magic around, I make the magic small, controlled, and precise to reduce the cost to the maximum.

I hear cracking sounds, like something shattering—a sound so low any other being wouldn’t hear it, but my new hearing picks it up. I can see a black glow, darker than the seal, starting to leak out.

’This is magic... it’s similar to mine... but denser and darker...’ I smile, knowing it’s my older sister! I accelerate the release of mana even more, creating multiple cracks in the seal, which begins to give way.

It seems the focus of this seal was entirely on being difficult to break out of from the inside, which made it fragile from the outside.

"Go! Just a little more!" I start infiltrating magic through the cracks, increasing the fissures more and more as they expand violently until they reach a critical point and pieces begin to disintegrate, vanishing into the air.

"..." Suddenly, everything explodes into trillions of micro-fragments that scatter into the air, and I soon see a dark sphere floating.

"...Is that... an entire dimension!?" I perceive the dimensional magic in it. It seems the seal functioned as something to store the dimension inside. I prepare to break the dimension, but before I can do anything, it breaks on its own.

"...!!?" It fragments in seconds, and in its place, a beautiful girl appears. She has long, multicolored hair, half white and half black—white on the left side, black on the right. She has red eyes like mine and a golden/silver angelic halo.

Her pale skin is identical to mine, and she has large breasts, seemingly even a bit larger than mine. I see her tail, which is similar to mine, black and long with a thick base that gets thinner towards the tip, but I see severe wounds on it, with several golden spears piercing various areas of her body.

"Sister..." Before I can finish speaking, I see her trying to strike me. Her fist comes absurdly close to my face; the magic in her fist is so violent and destructive that it genuinely frightens my body, which barely dodges the attack.

"W-What-" Without even having time to understand, I’m kicked in the stomach and thrown absurdly far away.

’H-How the hell is a girl so wounded this strong?’ I move my wings, regaining my balance and shooting upward, while feeling a disturbing magic approaching.
