The 'Defective' Billionaire and His Relentless Appetite for Me
Chapter 150: I Will Always Wait for You
CHAPTER 150: CHAPTER 150: I WILL ALWAYS WAIT FOR YOU
After hearing these words, the clever and quick-witted girl rolled her eyes and found a solution. She immediately smiled and said: "Oh, you’re quite right. Since those bad people want to bribe us with money, we might as well accept it openly as a symbol of justice. Then, I can use this money to pick out some exquisite gifts for you. How does that sound?"
Upon hearing this, William Foster felt a warm current surge in his heart.
He was very happy that his ’little wife’ considered him first, even after receiving a generous income, she prioritized how to reciprocate his kindness.
But then the image of going to the film set for work soon came to mind, imagining his woman possibly having to engage in intimate interactions with other male actors, which immediately dampened his mood.
However, outwardly, the always meticulous and deep-minded young master of the Foster family showed no odd emotion. Instead, he took out a delicate jewelry box from his pocket and handed it to the lady in front of him.
When the box was gently opened, a ring with a blue gemstone, simple in appearance yet possessing a noble temperament, lay quietly within. Then, he carefully placed it on the girl’s left ring finger.
William Foster said softly: "I was originally planning to give this to you on our honeymoon, but since you’re leaving now, I thought I’d give it to you in advance."
Clara Bennett slowly squatted down, picking up another bracelet and gently putting it on him, "In that case, I can’t wear mine."
A trace of heartache flashed in William Foster’s eyes, but he still gently replied: "I know. You can keep it for me for now and take it out occasionally. As long as you think of me, it’s fine."
Clara tilted her head, revealing a relaxed smile: "It’s only a few days, isn’t it? The first thing I’ll do when I get back is to come find you."
William Foster blinked, his long lashes quivering slightly: "Is that true?"
That pitiable look, along with his trembling lashes, made him especially endearing.
Sometimes, Clara couldn’t help but wonder if he had deliberately trained this trick. Otherwise, how could a man in his late twenties be so charming?
William Foster: That’s right, I’ve practiced it.
But it seems my skills aren’t deep enough, nor is my position stable enough.
Clara felt touched and softened: "Really, I’ll run to see you right after I get off the plane. How about that?"
William Foster’s mouth curved into a satisfied arc, his face brimming with a joyful smile.
He reached out, gently caressing her cheek with his fingertips, then leaned in closer, lightly touching her face with his nose.
"Alright, I’ll be here waiting for you, no matter if it’s midnight or broad daylight. As long as you come, I’ll always be here."
Clara’s heartbeat suddenly quickened, almost uncontrollably surging with the impulse to kiss the man in front of her.
This sudden thought even startled herself.
After all, the relationship between the two was merely a contractual marriage, not based on true love.
All previous intimate acts were because of William Foster’s requests.
But now, she wanted to kiss him on her own. Is that not possible?
Having lived another life, Clara decided to follow her heart.
After experiencing so many ups and downs, this time, she decided not to suppress her true feelings anymore and bravely do what she wanted to do.
If she wanted to kiss him, then she should, especially since he was so charming and cute and had promised to wait for her.
This thought had lingered in Clara’s mind for some time, and she couldn’t help wanting to respond to his affectionate gaze and gentle words. He was indeed someone worth investing in, not only handsome and dashing in appearance but also mild-mannered and considerate. And most importantly, he had once promised to wait for her and give her a wonderful future.
Thinking of all these things, Clara leaned forward and kissed William Foster, feeling satisfied as she left.
At that moment, she felt the whole world turn bright, the air filled with a sweet scent. She knew it was a little secret shared between the two of them, her heart full of happiness and contentment.
Clara didn’t feel any nervousness returning home; instead, her three brothers were on edge, as if facing a great enemy.
The atmosphere at home seemed particularly heavy due to her return, as if they were preparing for some imminent major event. Each person’s eyes showed a hint of unease and vigilance.
Early in the morning, their father noticed something odd about his children’s behavior.
Even though it was a day off, and according to usual habits, the young men should have been out enjoying their free time. Yet today, they were all gathered at the breakfast table, which was quite unusual.
Sir Bennett put down his coffee: "Are you three hiding something?"
Although his tone was calm, the underlying meaning was unavoidable. Clearly, he had noticed his sons’ abnormal behavior today and intended to find out what exactly was going on.
The brothers’ expressions noticeably tightened, and they looked up at their father.
At that moment, the air seemed to freeze, and the three of them appeared a bit flustered, afraid of revealing their secret to their father.
The eldest brother tried to remain composed. The second brother sighed helplessly.
As for the third brother, he lowered his head, not daring to meet their father’s eyes.
Have they been found out?
Where did they slip up?
Obviously, they hadn’t said anything about it!
Each of them was full of nervous speculation, unsure of how their father saw through their thoughts. In reality, these youngsters were merely worried that their sister’s recent decisions might affect the family’s harmony.
As the eldest brother, James Bennett was relatively calm: "Dad, what are you trying to say?"
He attempted to divert attention to other topics through questioning, avoiding direct confirmation or denial of anything.
However, such a simple question could hardly fool their experienced and sharp-sighted father.
The father directly pointed out the crux: "Since this morning, you three haven’t settled down. Is it because of your sister?"
Bluntly addressing the core issue, his words carried a certain interrogative tone.
It seemed that matters regarding Clara had already become an open secret within the family, but nobody had truly brought it into the open.
Edward Bennett forced a smile: "Dad, what are you saying? We’re getting more and more confused. What’s up with Clara?"
He tried to downplay the situation to distract from the tension in the room.
However, this only highlighted the possibility that something unknown was hidden behind their behavior.
The second brother sighed inwardly: Can’t be, how could it be so exhausting to cover it up, yet Dad still discovered about the sister’s marriage, right!
