CHAPTER 376: ERASED EXISTENCE

Hanjun dragged Minmin in a corner and whispered with desperation. "Minmin, are you sure we should have done this? We didn’t know that Yang Mingshen was Song Jia’s boyfriend!"

Minmin parted and shut her lips. "Oof, can’t you think positive at all? How was I supposed to know about her relationship status anyway!"

He gritted his teeth. "It doesn’t matter anymore because we are cooked! I have been trying to reach Fenhua for a while but she isn’t picking up my calls. Don’t tell me that...Song Jia rattled everything to her boyfriend!"

"Speak slowly, will you! You are just taking unnecessary stress and making me upset too!"

Hanjun was stupefied. "Don’t be an idiot, Minmin. You don’t have any idea who Yang Mingshen is. That man is simply out of our reach and to humiliate his girlfriend...He won’t spare us. Yang Mingshen is infamous for being the devil! His reputation alone makes me shudder. If I had known that we were messing with his woman, then I wouldn’t have gotten dragged into this at all!"

"Enough! Nothing will happen to us as you are fearing! That person will help us."

His gaze darkened. "The mysterious person who brainwashed you into doing this stupid shit in the first place? Are you sure they would even have the guts to go against Yang Mingshen?"

"I have dropped that number a message already so will you just wait!" She glared.

A chime came in just then and Minmin quickly opened the text.

’Seems like you went beyond doing a good job in breaking her spirit.’

Minmin beamed. "Look! That person is praising us!"

"Ask them about Yang Mingshen quickly."

"I already did!"

Another chime arrived.

’Be careful of Yang Mingshen. He is very notorious for experimenting with research subjects. You two will give him some nice entertainment.’

They froze.

Hanjun sweated. "W-What is he saying! Isn’t this as good as leaving us to be eaten by the wolf!?"

Now finally, Minmin was beginning to realize the danger too and quickly typed back.

’But you will help us, right? We did just as you said!’

’I appreciate it. Now your role is done for. So adieus.’

She paled and tremblingly typed back.

’You cannot do this to us! You dragged us into this mess. We will tell Yang Mingshen everything that this wasn’t our plan anyway!’

The next text felt like an evil foreboding.

’Sure if you will be able to prove my existence in the first place. Good luck with that.’

Hanjun stumbled back, breathing hard. "That person has given up on us...He always meant to drown us in the first place! I told you that this whole thing looked suspicious but you just didn’t listen!"

"What do you mean? Of course I can prove this person’s existence! Aren’t we chatting right now? I will show these messages to Yang Mingshen and prove that we are innocent and we didn’t plan to humiliate Song Jia!"

But as if she cursed herself, some movement on her phone caught her eye and she saw all the exchanges between her and that mystery person get erased within a single blink.

Suddenly, there were no messages and no history.

As if she had been talking to a ghost until now.

Minmin panicked and restarted her phone multiple times but everything was gone. Even the money deposited in her bank account was wiped off as if that transaction had never taken place.

"The money...is also gone..." Minmin sharply gasped.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck! We are done for now! That Yang Mingshen will make us his lab rats!"

"Hanjun..." her face paled. "What will we do now?"

What should I do now...?

Jia blankly stared ahead at the empty space the next morning. The complete silence felt like a banging sound in itself. She looked around her new room and the tumultuous last night once again dawned upon her. She shut her eyes, burying her face in her palms, shame and embarrassment hijacking her heart.

Shit, shit, shit.

What did I do? Had I lost my mind?

I called Mingshen in the middle of his award ceremony and forced him to fly back all the way to Beijing just because I cried! I practically forced him to bring me into Yang mansion.

Her face paled.

No, no, no. I-I cannot continue living here. I wasn’t thinking straight last night. I got too emotional.

"I cannot become a burden upon everybody...Me living here doesn’t make any sense..."

With a constricting feeling gripping her chest, she jumped off the bed and rushed towards the door when she crashed into Mingshen.

"Spicy! Right at the same time!" He brightened. "Our thoughts are always in such sync~"

But seeing a breathless Jia made all his joy wipe off his expression.

"As expected, you didn’t sleep well last night. That’s why I told you that you should have been sleeping in my arms and not in a separate bed. That was my genuine advice as a doctor, you know?"

Jia said, "I-I am leaving. I cannot stay here. I am...r-really sorry for being a nuisance last night. It won’t happen again."

Before Mingshen could respond, a gruff voice came.

"It’s breakfast time."

They turned their heads and saw Yang Cheng standing expressionlessly. Jia straightened. "U-Uncle. For last night, I am-"

"Breakfast will get cold. It’s not good to eat a cold breakfast. A healthy body needs to warm up early in the morning. Don’t be late."

And he passed between them without giving Jia any chance to speak.

"A healthy body also needs to warm up at night so how about I shift your stuff to my room~?"

Jia threw him a blank look. "You...you are not understanding it at all."

He smiled. "I am understanding everything, Spicy. It’s you who seriously need to understand that it’s breakfast time and if you didn’t come on time, then Mom will chew me up for making you late. Don’t do that. She already chews me enough. So rise and shine, Spicy! It’s a bright new day!"
