CHAPTER 96: 96: MEDICAL SKILL (6)_1

"Whimper!" Zhu Xingfang’s mouth was stuffed with a rag, silencing her as she could only glare at Dong Huiying angrily with her small eyes.

Dong Huiying remained unperturbed and called out to Liang Haoming, "Let’s go." Then she pulled Zhu Xingfang by the shoulder and led her outside.

Yixuan and Zhi Chen watched the three of them gradually walk away.

"Big brother."

"Hmm?"

"Can she really cure Second Brother’s illness?" He had wanted to ask this question since last night but hesitated, holding back because he was unsure.

"It’s like using a dead horse as a living one to try a remedy, Shu Yu is seriously ill, but from the look of her yesterday, she doesn’t seem to be lying."

"That’s good."

Yixuan’s thin lips curved slightly, revealing a radiant smile, even his eyebrows bent gently, and his eyes were not as calm as usual but flowed with gentle clarity.

After his smile, he looked outside the courtyard again. The two of them turned a corner, and then their figures disappeared.

"Big brother, she has really changed."

"I know."

"This morning she asked me if we were lacking anything at home, I told her to bring back food."

"Hmm."

"This kind of life is pretty good."

Zhi Chen chuckled softly, then indulgently ruffled his hair, "Alright, you still have injuries on you, go back to your room and lie down."

However, contemplating the dissonance, Zhi Chen couldn’t help but ponder deeply.

In the past few days, Dong Huiying had been up the mountains and making a fuss in the gambling dens, traveling the world on her two feet which had also developed blisters. But she endured it well, not showing any sign of it on the road and occasionally kicking Zhu Xingfang to keep her from stirring up trouble.

Liang Haoming followed her like a shadow. He always had a wooden expression on his face, never showing his emotions, but from time to time his gaze would fleetingly touch Dong Huiying’s small paws.

Whizz, whizz!

A plump little guy suddenly popped out from the woods.

Dong Huiying turned her head and saw Liang Haoming looking down, half a meter in front of him stood a big, white rabbit. The sight of the man and rabbit staring at each other was unexpectedly adorable.

"Eh? Another little rabbit?"

She remembered that during their time in the mountain, Liang Haoming would always be holding a chubby rabbit. But later, due to a fall off a cliff...

She recalled how they had dug a little hole under the cliff and buried the rabbit, a sparrow, and a squirrel.

Clearly, Liang Haoming remembered it too; the normally stoic man’s eyes suddenly reddened. Yet he remained still, continuing the staredown with the rabbit.

The chubby rabbit twisted its little tail, its fluffy white paws busily flicking at the damp earth. Then, it suddenly hopped as if it wanted to run towards Liang Haoming.

But Liang Haoming acted as though he’d been frightened out of his wits, retreating several meters in an instant as if facing a flood or a wild beast.

Dong Huiying almost laughed at his reaction, understanding that he must have been traumatized by their previous experience.

She walked towards the rabbit, only to find that whether it was because she was too dark, too ugly, or for some other reason, it seemed that Haoming was more welcome to the rabbit than she was.

Dong Huiying blinked adorably and then, with an air of dominance, scooped up the chubby rabbit.

"I quite like it!"

She stroked the little rabbit’s head, and it struggled within her embrace.

"Ah, my arms are so sore, can you hold it for me, please?" She then stuffed the rabbit into Liang Haoming’s arms and ran off with a trot.

"Remember, don’t drop it, hold it steadily!" He clearly yearned for it, but restrained himself because of the prior incident. Sometimes this man can be very foolish, but it’s precisely those foolish moments that can touch the softest part of one’s heart.
