The Evolution Compendium
Chapter 182 - 178: Chu Yi, Danger!
CHAPTER 182: CHAPTER 178: CHU YI, DANGER!
This resource is very precious. Did Chu Yi acquire it in the Secret Realm? Lias lowered her head, gazing at the remaining half-bag of Spirit Cores. They were filled with starlight, sparkling and resplendent, and her expression grew solemn. Their purity is exceptionally rare. For Pet Beasts, they hold great significance, capable of stimulating bloodline evolution and considerably enhancing potential. Chu Yi had casually handed over such valuable and scarce resources to her. This warmed Lias’s heart, a blush subtly spreading across her cheeks. She decided she would reward him again when she returned that afternoon. She happened to have brought quite a few stockings in her Space Wrist Wheel.
Carefully placing the Spirit Cores into the Wrist Wheel, Lias contained her aura. Wisps of vital energy undulated, merging into her skirt hem and transforming into decorative roses, beautiful and enchanting. Through her development, the Bloodthirsty Rose, combined with her Blood Race talents, had learned an Elementalization skill. This allowed it to temporarily transform into a pool of blood, which could merge with an opposing Pet Beast’s blood, disrupting its Spiritual Structure and tearing apart its Extraordinary Life. If fully unleashed, it could detonate the opponent’s blood. Her selection for the Starfire Sequence was not only due to her rapid Cultivation but also her combat strength, which allowed her to overcome stronger foes despite her own weakness.
He must have entered the Star Secret Realm by now, Lias thought. She stood up, her bat wings unfolding, accompanied by writhing black currents. The viscous darkness, like a physical substance, turned into shadows and retreated into her bat wings, which then retracted.
In the blink of an eye, she transformed from an evil, breathtaking Blood Race maiden, a figure entwined with blood and terror, into a noble young aristocrat radiating an air of dignity.
Once her preparations were complete, she took out a key seemingly plucked from a branch. It was formed from condensed, rich starlight. She touched it to the void, and a door materialized. In actuality, this place was a Secret Realm originating from the Starfire Era, once the Federation’s last line of defense. However, with the advent of the Beast Taming Era, this Secret Realm had been converted into a training camp for geniuses, cultivating a large number of talented individuals for the Federation.
The door swung open, and Lias pushed through it, stepping out. However, a figure had evidently been waiting at the entrance for some time. He immediately advanced, half-kneeling on the ground and offering a bouquet of flowers cultivated with fresh blood, his posture exceedingly humble.
"Honorable Countess, my master requests your presence." He wore a meticulously tailored tailcoat and expensive, branded attire. Handsome and elegant, he resembled a noble scion. But in truth, he was merely a manservant. That a mere servant could possess such bearing hinted at the extraordinary nobility of his master.
"Scram," Lias said coldly, showing him no regard. The vines entwined on her Gothic Lolita skirt trembled, casting dozens of shadows that whispered, warning the man to leave.
"Countess, in accordance with the Blood Pact, you, like the Count, should heed the summons of the Duke’s son," the manservant said with an elegant smile, his head bowed low. Despite his humble posture, an air of pride emanated from him. This pride stemmed from his master, a Blood Race Duke.
Lias intended to walk past him, but in the next second, a swarm of bats flew out, blocking her path.
"Miss Lias, the Blood Race’s covenant is Divine and inviolable. Please do not make things difficult for me." The manservant rose, only to kneel before Lias again. This was an ancient Blood Race etiquette: lower-ranking Blood Race members had to salute those of higher rank.
"Kill him," Lias commanded coldly. Countless shadows coalesced into a gigantic hammer, smashing the manservant’s head and splattering foul-smelling blood everywhere. This was an advanced Beast Taming skill where a Pet Beast could condense Spiritual Energy into armor or weapons, temporarily granting its master a possession-type effect. The manservant’s head was smashed open as if a watermelon had been struck by a baseball bat, shattered to pieces.
Lias remained unstained by a single drop of blood, her expression indifferent; she had witnessed seas of corpses and rivers of blood since childhood.
Just as she was about to leave, the blood on the ground began to twist and writhe. It slowly flowed back into the shattered skull, re-forming the brain. The astonishing regenerative power was enough to leave one speechless.
"Miss Lias, if you violate the covenant, you will bring unnecessary trouble upon the Count." The manservant slowly rose, pushing a dislodged eyeball back into its socket. Though infuriated by the noble lady’s unruly behavior, he still managed an elegant smile. "You wouldn’t want the Count to encounter any trouble, would you?"
Lias remained silent. Within the Blood Race, a strict hierarchy existed based on noble titles. Defying this Duke’s son would indeed bring some trouble to her father. Therefore, she prepared to kill him outright, resolving the issue at its root.
BOOM—
In the next instant, a scorching heat brushed past, gently licking her cheek with its warmth. Lias froze, a faint smile playing on her lips as a trace of amusement shimmered in her azure pupils.
"What’s happening?!" The manservant’s expression changed dramatically as a Frenzy aura surged towards him from behind, like a violent chemical reaction triggering a massive explosion! He twisted his neck, and as he turned his head, his vision was engulfed by an all-consuming blaze of fire.
A scorching, fiery dragon descended from the sky. Its mouth gaped open, and it bit down on the still-unresponsive manservant, then soared high into the air.
"Who—?! Don’t you know I’m one of the Duke’s men— AARGH!"
The next moment, he screamed. His flesh-and-blood body seemed as fragile as paper; it was bitten through, flesh and bone alike. A heatwave surged as five more fiery dragons emerged, trailing flames. They scrambled to tear apart the manservant’s body, devouring him completely!
CRUNCH, CRUNCH...
Amidst the grating sounds of chewing, the Crown Flame erupted, incinerating even the bloody mist until nothing remained, completely vaporized.
"My esteemed lady, I apologize for startling you." As a rain of fire embers fell, a handsome youth approached from a distance. A six-tailed young fox was perched on his shoulder, and he spoke apologetically. His handsome face bore a faint smile.
"You’re not too late. I’ll forgive you this time," Lias said, calmly gazing at the youth. Her eyes gently closed as she drew closer, her soft lips pressing lightly against his, like a dragonfly alighting on water. Soft and tender, it was like kissing a flower petal...
Then, Lias immediately pulled away, a blush crossing her cheeks. Her delicate hand caressed the youth’s cheek as she said shyly, "That’s your reward. Don’t overthink it."
"Mhm." Chu Yi and Bika nodded in unison. It was just a kiss, Chu Yi thought. He was more interested in getting some ice cream.
"By the way, come back with me this afternoon. I... I have a gift for you..." At this, she paused. Lias lowered her delicate head, her gaze evasive, and whispered, "It’s... the kind you like..."
This promise of a reward immediately stirred Chu Yi. He feigned composure, saying, "This... this isn’t appropriate..."
"Don’t you want it?" The blonde-haired loli paused, lifting her pure, beautiful eyes to him in puzzlement. She had put quite a few of the latest styles of stockings in her Wrist Wheel. Was Chu Yi tired of them? Didn’t he want them anymore?
"Ahem, as long as it’s a gift from you, my lady, I’ll gladly accept it." Chu Yi smiled. Suddenly, his hand was pulled into the ’snow-laden mountains’ as a soft, sweet voice said:
"Me too. As long as it’s from you, Senior, I love it."
