The Ex-Wife's Revenge: Rise of the Real Heiress.
Chapter 63: The Plan is to get Kidnapped?
CHAPTER 63: THE PLAN IS TO GET KIDNAPPED?
After having the celebratory dinner, Elara sat inside the back seat of the car and closed her eyes, a bit satisfied with the outcome of her plans.
Antonio started the car and was about to turn on the soft songs for his boss since she preferred listening to them whenever they were traveling and not talking about anything.
However, as soon as he leaned forward to attach the AUX cable to his phone, his gaze fell on a particular black van that was moving straight behind them.
With his lips pressed into a thin line, he gave the van a right dipper to pass them, but it didn’t move.
Antonio shook his head and moved the car farther left to give it enough space to pass, wondering if the driver didn’t know what the dipper lights meant.
The van still didn’t catch up to them.
Seriously. What the hell is this person trying? Antonio wondered, not alerting Elara to worry her.
He deliberately took another turn towards their apartment, but after twenty minutes, it was crystal clear what was happening, and his gaze darkened.
As much as he wanted to let Elara sit in peace, it was better to alert her since he might need to fight them if they came with evil intentions.
"Miss Elara, it appears a van is following us," Antonio said with a grim expression.
Elara opened her eyes and looked at the rearview mirror.
Antonio thought she would worry or at least contact George or Xylon, but to his surprise, rather than getting worried, she smiled.
"It’s happening already? I thought they would at least take a couple of days to plan properly. It looks like Carla couldn’t digest today’s humiliation," Elara said before she leaned back and closed her eyes again.
"Tell me when we reach the apartment," she said, her eyes still closed.
Antoni parked the car below her apartment building and looked at the van that had stopped some distance away.
He clenched his fists and got down from the car, his one hand secured on his gun, ready to defend her.
Elara, on the other hand, was least worried.
"You can leave, Antonio," Elara said.
Antonio, who was ready to follow her to the elevator, raised his brows.
"You must be kidding me, Miss Elara. Indeed, I haven’t exactly proven to be an efficient bodyguard, but I would be a fool to leave you alone when I know you are in clear danger," Antonio said.
Elara looked at the man’s determined eyes. She thought about his words. Well, it wouldn’t hurt to have one more man guard her. Especially now that her shoulder was still healing, she wasn’t in her best form.
"Okay," Elara shrugged like it was nothing before entering the elevator.
The first thing Elara did as soon as she walked inside her apartment was draw all the curtains before she turned off the hall lights.
Antonio didn’t understand what she was trying to do, but didn’t speak. He was ready to strike if anyone dared to break into the apartment.
But after seeing Elara act so casually when she returned after changing into casual clothes, he couldn’t hold his curiosity anymore.
"I can see you were already expecting them, ma’am. Can you tell me what the plan is?" He asked.
"The plan is to get kidnapped," Elara said.
Antonio, who was picking up a glass of water to drink, coughed on his own saliva when he heard her.
"Kidnapped?" he asked, bewildered.
Elara nodded.
"I find this is a good way to frame Carla and Beatrice into a scandal and throw some dirt on their names. This will surely draw Andrew’s attention and make him go crazy," Elara said.
"But mam, you can do that in another way too," Antonio looked at the girl helplessly.
Elara shook her head.
"I think this plan is the best," she said before she looked at the window.
The little shuffling behind the curtains as someone jumped onto her balcony was a clear indication that they were already here.
The men who came to assault her broke the balcony door and entered, all covering their faces with a mask.
Elara clapped her hands softly since moving her left hand still made her healing wound ache.
"Welcome to the humble abode of Elara Frost," Elara said.
The men who came to assault her looked at each other, visibly surprised by her reaction.
They looked at Antonio and were about to attack the man when Elara said something unexpected, taking everyone in the room off guard.

After driving for fifty more minutes, Daniel’s car stopped before the Grand Gardenia Residency.
Alen walked out of the car to open the door for his boss, and Daniel stepped out before buttoning his coat.
The man nodded to his subordinate, who walked to the butler of the house and explained the purpose of their visit.
It wasn’t long before George descended the stairs with a stormy expression.
"What do you want, Daniel?" He asked.
Daniel looked around, observing everything with precision.
"I am here to declare something. I already did it to Elara, and as her brother, you deserve to know," Daniel stepped forward until he was only a couple of inches away from the man.
He looked straight into the man’s eyes.
"I am courting your sister, and no power in this world can stop that from happening. I left my betrothed, my wife, under your care, but in return, you declared her dead, let her marry a bastard who treated her worse than a maid, but not anymore. George Frost, I have officially returned to reclaim my wife."
Daniel said, his eyes blazing the kind of fire that wouldn’t extinguish until he had Elara in his arms.
George stood there for some time, letting the man finish, and once Daniel did, he did something that shocked Daniel’s entire team.
George raised his hand and punched the man.
Daniel stumbled back at the impact before wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth.
"Stay away from her! You know your stars will only bring trouble to her," George pointed his finger at Daniel, making the latter chuckle.
"I am not here to seek permission, George. She is mine, always has been, always will be. You let her suffer until I was building myself, but now I am back and I am ready to declare war with anyone if they step between me and her," Daniel stepped forward.
"This blood that you shed, the outcome for which would’ve been your death, let this life be my dowry for you until I marry her," Daniel locked his bottom lip and was about to speak more when the butler rushed.
"Sir. This is important. It’s Miss Elara," He breathed heavily.
George’s heart skipped a beat.
"What about her? Speak clearly!" George raised his voice.
"She... she is at the City Hospital! They say she got attacked by a few men at her apartment, and there’s so much blood and—" The butler shook his head, trying to form a sentence.
George didn’t wait for the butler to finish speaking. He rushed out of the villa, followed by Daniel, who was equally worried about her.
George opened the car door and started the engine, only to see Daniel sit in the shotgun seat.
"What the hell are you doing?" He asked.
"What? Didn’t I tell you? She is my wife. I am going to see what happened. I am equally worried. Now drive. Let’s not be late," Daniel said, and George wanted to argue but didn’t want to waste his time on it.
"Why does your sister keep getting into trouble? It’s one thing or the other. She was perfectly fine when I met her an hour ago and declared my obsession for her," Daniel murmured under his breath.
"You did what?!" George nearly lost control of the car before glaring at the man.
"Let’s not be late," Daniel grinned, clearly unfazed by the man who used to be his best friend.
