The exorcism began in America.
Chapter 165: Discovery
Could it really be the Yeti behind these Bizarre events?
This ludicrous thought had just surfaced in Chu Feng's mind before he extinguished it outright.
Too many loopholes!
If he were to believe it, that would be an outright insult to his intelligence.
First and foremost was the Bizarre's strength.
That Yeti possessed only the strength of a Low Rank Evil Spirit.
For him to believe it could influence such a vast expanse of weather, someone would have had to take his brain.
The warm sunshine fell upon him. It was the time when he should have been enjoying a leisurely afternoon.
Unfortunately, his business was not yet complete. It was not time for afternoon tea.
If he were to just walk away now, the Bizarre would certainly rise again. By then, first, the Bizarre's strength would likely have grown considerably. Secondly, the image of the Exorcism Agency would surely suffer a significant impact. Most crucially, while the Bizarre coveted human lives, Chu Feng himself was coveting the rewards for killing the Bizarre. That Bizarre's strength might already be that of a High Rank Evil Spirit—the rewards should be substantial!
The roaring sound of a helicopter suddenly interrupted Chu Feng's thoughts.
Observing the military helicopter approaching from the distant horizon, Chu Feng narrowed his eyes slightly.
"They sure arrived quickly!"
It seems that at the first sign of the weather change here, the Military's helicopter had already headed this way!
"Ha, I never said the Bizarre had been vanquished!"
Chu Feng, having no particular fondness for the American military, directly unfolded his Spiritual Wings. With a light tremor of his wings, his figure instantly disappeared from the spot.
"Quick, quick, quick! Immediately check the base's surveillance footage and get me a power assessment report on Chu Feng and that Bizarre as fast as possible."
The helicopter had just landed on the base's airstrip when, following an urgent command over the communicator, more than a dozen Air Force personnel with sharp eyes quickly disembarked from the aircraft.
Meanwhile, on a distant highway, a convoy loaded with soldiers was also speeding toward the base.
Chu Feng flew westward, his eyes sharp as he observed his surroundings, attempting to pinpoint something unusual.
But the vast expanse of white snow below, still unmelted, looked all the same.
If my guess isn't wrong, the source of the Bizarre must definitely be to the west of Fairbanks.
According to the data previously obtained, the initial sightings of the Bizarre events were in a residential area on the western edge of the city.
At that time, the Bizarre probably had no thought of concealing itself, so...
With his guess confirmed, Chu Feng no longer paid any attention to the snowy scenery below. His Spiritual Wings vibrated, and he sped towards the west side of Fairbanks.
More than ten minutes later, after a thorough search, Chu Feng's figure finally stopped in the sky above a residential area beside the Chena River.
This must be the place!
Suspended in mid-air, Chu Feng took out his phone to compare a photo with the scene below, then nodded affirmatively.
The residential area beneath his feet bore a name with a positive connotation, "Avie," meaning the source of life.
But evidently, the source of life here seemed to have dried up completely!
In this somewhat aged residential area, almost every house was cordoned off with isolation tape, and warning signs nearly as tall as a person could be seen everywhere.
The entire area was now a stretch of deathly white stillness, devoid of any signs of life.
Chu Feng, suspended in midair, tightly gripped his long sword, his slender shadow cast over a cluster of houses below in the sunlight.
Where could it be?
Chu Feng's body slowly descended, his Spiritual Perception fully operational, trying to find any trace of the Bizarre.
Blank, blank, still blank.
He passed house after house, his Spiritual Perception scanning, yet Chu Feng did not detect any sign of human or Bizarre presence.
From one end of the street to the other, aside from being empty, the houses seemed normal.
Should I head further west?
Once again rising into midair, Chu Feng looked toward the greenery in the far distance, vividly distinct from the snow-covered landscape here, and silently shook his head.
No, it must still be here!
His sharp eyes began to methodically scour the surroundings. He must have overlooked something.
The streets, the houses, even the vacant lots next to the residential area.
It wasn't until Chu Feng's gaze inadvertently swept over the side of the residential area, by the Chena River, that his pupils suddenly brightened.
The Chena River, with a total length of about 1,368 kilometers, originates from the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains, flows through Fairbanks, and eventually merges into the Yukon River.
Although the residential area was located beside the Chena River, there was actually some distance between the two, so Chu Feng hadn't noticed the small, snow-covered cabin by the riverside before.
With a flutter of his Spiritual Wings, Chu Feng instantly arrived above the riverside cabin.
Under the cover of heavy snow, it was indeed not easy to see the cabin clearly, but the exposed log walls led Chu Feng to judge it was a typical American wooden cabin.
Outside the cabin, a small yard was enclosed by a fence, but within, a thick layer of snow covered everything, making it impossible to discern what lay underneath.
Just as Chu Feng was slowly descending, a cold wind carrying a few snowflakes suddenly rushed past him, and the sun, which had seemed somewhat warm, disappeared.
"Hm?"
Chu Feng abruptly looked up. Countless rolling dark clouds, appearing from nowhere, had once again blanketed the entire sky, and little flakes of snow slowly began to fall.
The biting cold wind returned and grew stronger, carrying snowflakes that rustled the hem of Chu Feng's clothing.
"It looks like I've found the right place this time!"
The changes in the surroundings and the sudden appearance of a shadowy form within the cabin made Chu Feng's expression turn stern as surging Spiritual Power instantly filled his long sword.
"Eat this!"
Chu Feng raised his long sword high, the blazing light of the blade throbbing at its edge.
As the sword plunged down like lightning, a dazzling streak of blade light sped towards the wooden cabin before him.
BOOM!
The instant the flimsy wooden cabin collided with the blade light, an explosion thundered.
Countless splinters of wood sprayed out in all directions, and the entire cabin disappeared under Chu Feng's strike.
"Exorcist, I already gave you a reason to leave this place. Isn't it preferable to leave alive?" a deep and hoarse child's voice suddenly emanated from the ruins, causing Chu Feng to raise his brows slightly and turn his attention to the source of the sound.
In the center of the cabin's ruins, a tall snowman stood before a small, dark shadow, firmly blocking the blade light from Chu Feng's strike.
Once the snowman stood upright, the small figure, cloaked in black robes and its head concealed by a hood, finally appeared before Chu Feng.
Two Bizarre entities?
The unexpected sight made Chu Feng's brow furrow slightly. The feedback from his Spiritual Perception had never been wrong before.
Now that two Bizarre entities had appeared, how could there only be a single aura in his Spiritual Perception?
