Chapter 45 Dwarf
CHAPTER 45: CHAPTER 45 DWARF
Trailing at a distance behind that Goblin.
Soon, they arrived at a hillside, which was already the outermost part of the mountains.
It seemed that upon reaching here, the Goblin, scared out of its wits, regained some composure, as a few Goblins approached from afar, seemingly communicating with each other.
Afterward, they joined those Goblins and entered a mountain cave together.
"Did you see any scouting Goblins around?"
George carefully observed for a while, then shook his head.
"Perhaps those few just now were responsible for scouting outside?"
Thinking this way, it seemed quite possible.
Kana was somewhat silent, staring at the mountain cave.
He had thought that this group of Goblins would nest in the forest, but instead they lodged in a mountain cave.
In this case, it was impossible to determine the exact number of this group of Goblins.
The only certainty was that this group of Goblins was definitely a small tribe.
"The scent of blood, Goblin’s." Alyris suddenly remarked.
Hearing this, Kana turned to look at her, "Are you sure?"
"Yes, it comes from inside the mountain cave, not from the Goblin just now."
After pondering for a moment, Kana made a direct decision, "Let’s approach and take a look."
Having said that, the group directly reached the entrance of the mountain cave.
The cave emitted a faint stench, and Kana smelled the scent of blood wafting out.
"Are they fighting inside themselves?" George couldn’t help but ask, he didn’t quite understand, but it seemed normal for such small creatures to fight among themselves.
Bobo directly refuted, "Not likely, Goblins rarely conflict with one another unless it’s over dominance.
Most of the time, their hierarchy is clear-cut, and even among different tribes, they can quickly unify under a stronger leader."
After speaking, she couldn’t help but glance at Kana, who was staring into the cave, "You’re not considering going into the cave, are you? Goblins nesting in caves are the most dangerous, and we haven’t brought any torches; it’s very unsafe."
Although Goblins nest in various places, undoubtedly, those inside dark caves pose the greatest danger.
Because they hide in all parts of the cave and set all sorts of traps, coupled with Goblins generally having some weak Dark Vision.
People unfamiliar with the cave’s environment easily stumble inside.
Hearing Bobo’s words, unpleasant memories resurfaced in Kana’s mind.
During the game’s launch, Goblin tribes in cave systems were always rookie killers. Statistics showed player deaths totaling 160,000 in such places, just in the first week alone.
Unfortunately, Kana also lost at least two lives in such places.
After all, it was the first virtual game, entirely different concepts from previous video games.
Kana, who experienced a three-day beta, fared better; the average player death count in the first week was over 20 times per person.
Pulling himself from the memories.
At this moment, the scent of blood grew stronger.
"Let’s go in; something’s fighting the Goblins right now, this chance shouldn’t be missed.
George, you hide outside, stay alert."
Kana decisively led the group into the mountain cave.
George nodded; he couldn’t perform well in the cave.
He was self-aware, knowing he might struggle against even a white rat.
After all, he couldn’t make fire appear on his fingertips.
The trio entered.
Immediately met by a stench and dampness.
You couldn’t expect a Goblin’s lair to be tidy.
Bobo felt somewhat helpless but more fearful, nestled between the pair.
She couldn’t help but think: Why did I come in? Why did I follow Kana’s lead?
Ever since being saved by Kana, she had been blindly following him and inexplicably became his subordinate.
The surroundings were very dark; Bobo’s Ratman Dark Vision kicked in, allowing her to perceive the environment.
Seeing this, Bobo asked, "Should I create some light?"
After all, both were humans, seemingly without Dark Vision.
"No need, we can see."
"Alright." Being able to control blood, having a bit of Dark Vision seemed plausible.
Upon entering the cave, they became alert, with Kana taking the lead.
"Follow behind me closely, be wary not to step on traps."
Saying this, Kana moved forward without pause, sometimes winding around, avoiding certain traps along the way.
Now and then, he glanced around, checking for places Goblins might hide.
However, there wasn’t a single Goblin.
The air grew increasingly foul and the scent of blood stronger.
"Pick up the pace."
It could be confirmed that an intruder appeared in the Goblins’ nest.
Quickly, they heard the sounds of clashes, accompanied by some cursing.
And some sharp Goblin shrieks followed.
Soon, they saw the battleground.
"A Dwarf?" Bobo immediately recognized the being fighting the Goblins.
It was indeed a Dwarf.
Are there still Dwarfs around here? Bobo was unsure, but considering such a long mountain range, Dwarfs didn’t seem surprising.
Kana squinted his eyes to observe, noting the Dwarf was about a head taller than Bobo’s stature.
A stout figure, not wearing Armor, and some frayed ropes present.
He seemed to wield a broken sword, holding a wooden stick in the other hand.
Using a broken sword and wooden stick to fight surrounding Goblins.
With two or three Arrows embedded in him.
He rushed towards something, too dark beyond Dark Vision’s range.
"Come on, you little monsters!"
Roaring, he smashed the head of a charging Goblin with a club.
Backhanded, he slashed with the sword, using it as a blunt weapon, killing another Goblin.
The Dwarf’s strength was indeed formidable.
But behind him, a Goblin stabbed its Stone Spear into him, though appearing not deeply injured.
Some stones were thrown at him.
The Dwarf fought while dodging, clearly in a disadvantage, surrounded by Goblins, lacking handy Weapons and any Armor.
"Never surrender!"
With a furious roar, a grayish color appeared on the Dwarf.
Arrows popped out of him; even more arrows couldn’t harm him much.
"Let’s go."
"Wait for me!"
"You stay there, support us."
Upon hearing Kana, Bobo immediately stayed behind, hiding behind a rock.
Alyris charged directly inside.
Several Goblins were sent flying, and with a backhanded sword, instantly she sliced three Goblins in half.
A mighty Power causing a dramatic visual Effect.
Alyris’s arms grew slightly flushed, blood vessels stood out.
She used Blood Magic, enhancing her physical abilities.
The strike surprised her too, causing her to momentarily stare at her hands, the Effect better than expected.
Kana followed Alyris’s path, stepping on a few Goblins, leaping to the other side.
With a squeeze, ground blood formed into a Blood Arrow and flew out.
However, the Blood Arrow’s Effect was weaker than it appeared, merely piercing a small hole in a Goblin’s shoulder.
"Alright," Kana was somewhat resigned; Apprentice Level Skills were indeed too weak.
The Shield thrusting, sending a Goblin flying, a sword Piercing, another Goblin slain.
The left hand flicked; flowing blood transformed into a rope, flew to a hammer.
That was where the Dwarf rushed, his Weapon, yet no Armor was seen.
He pulled hard, the rope dragging the hammer over, landing by the Dwarf’s side.
"Ha, you damned little creatures, you’re finished!"
The Dwarf rolled, picked up the hammer, laughing heartily.
A small flame flew from afar, landing on a Goblin.
Flames burning, causing the Goblin to scream.
Alongside its scream, other Goblins started gathering around it.
"Take him down; he’s the leader," Kana loudly advised.
The one throwing the flame was Bobo, observing from a distance, able to better view the overall situation.
Pointing out the key target for the group.
