Chapter 46: Experience Acquisition
CHAPTER 46: CHAPTER 46: EXPERIENCE ACQUISITION
The goblins’ levels, without a doubt, are mostly Level One.
Only a very rare few goblins have the potential to reach Level Two.
Even that goblin leader looks at most Level Two, possibly even inferior to an ordinary Level Two soldier.
The goblin leader is shouting, with his subordinates gathered around him.
He swiftly pats himself to extinguish the flames on his body.
"Taste the might of the Gray Mountain’s son, you damned little creatures." The dwarf roared, spinning his iron hammer around.
Earthy spikes covered the hammer, and with the dwarf’s immense power, several goblins were instantly smashed away, letting out terrible screams.
Alyris and Kana’s attack speed was also relentless, wielding one-handed swords, each strike taking down at least one goblin.
The goblins were visibly turning into corpses at a fast pace.
"Wahula!"
The goblin leader shouted and suddenly started running backward.
"He’s trying to escape!"
Kana shouted, with Alyris and the dwarf immediately trying to charge into the mob of goblins.
However, after pushing through a few goblins, the rest remained clustered together, continually attacking and preventing them from advancing.
"Are these goblins?" Kana couldn’t help but ask.
How could goblins be like this?
Though not as timid as ratmen, goblins are still considered cowardly, especially with leaders; once dead or fleeing.
A goblin tribe would instantly collapse, so the best strategy is to quickly take down their leader during battle.
What remains is the pursuit.
Yet even as this leader tries to escape, these goblins remain firmly together, showing no fear of death.
To see such behavior among other races might be normal, but for goblins, it’s truly baffling.
Unless the goblin leader isn’t merely trying to escape but has other plans, known to the tribe members.
How can merely clearing a goblin tribe lead to such situations?
A small fireball flew directly over, reigniting the goblin leader’s clothing.
The goblin leader, fleeing, screamed, flailing his arms and legs.
Taking this opportunity, Kana stabbed a goblin’s head in front, then grabbed forward with his left hand.
He controlled the blood to form several tendrils, shooting out and firmly grabbing the goblin leader’s legs, dragging him to the ground.
As he fell, the goblin leader frantically kicked and struggled, screaming loudly.
The fear in his voice immediately affected the goblins fighting at the front.
Fear began to spread.
"That’s more like it." This is how a normal goblin should behave.
Kana couldn’t help but say.
However, things didn’t go as planned.
The fallen goblin leader suddenly began to scream something, his voice filled with trembling fear.
Yet, even in this situation, he continued speaking rapidly.
The other goblins, hearing this voice, began to tremble all over, but instead of retreating, they stood firm.
They stood in fear, trembling all over in an effort to block their way.
"Something’s wrong, a nefarious force, the earth is resisting!"
The dwarf yelled, sensing the earth’s repulsion beneath him.
Alyris and Kana only sensed an off aura, as the air was getting increasingly foul.
Bobo, standing at a distance, felt all his hair stand on end; danger was approaching.
"Ugh!"
"Uh... ugh!"
The goblins began to vomit, expelling green liquid like rotting fluid.
"Retreat!"
Kana commanded, retreating instantly.
Alyris quickly obeyed, moving to Kana’s side, and the dwarf also realized and promptly backed away.
They retreated several meters, watching the group of goblins.
The goblins started to vomit on each other, spewing out venomous, pus-like liquid.
The entire cave was filled with a nauseating stench.
"Ugh, it’s so disgusting, I can’t stand it!" The dwarf yelled, covering his mouth, starting to heave.
"Hold it in, do not vomit."
Kana reminded, frowning as he looked at the scene before him, already realizing what they were facing.
Damn it, even in a goblin tribe sweep, they could encounter such a scenario.
He picked up his sword and lightly cut his wrist.
A slight pain came over, and power surged up.
Kana guided his blood from his wrist to cover a thin layer over his face.
Extracting more blood from his body, he controlled it into a cluster, directing it toward Alyris.
As Alyris reacted, the blood had already reached her. She could only helplessly mimic Kana, covering her face with the blood.
The vomiting goblins were already covered in sores, with large amounts of green liquid seeping out from their bodies.
The stench came straight from them.
Some goblins fell amidst the festering sores, bursting into pieces.
Only a few goblins remained standing.
That included the leader.
The burst flesh piled onto him, causing this goblin to swell to an ordinary person’s size.
He held a green stick, composed of unknown bones and rotting flesh, with pus still dripping from it.
"They aren’t fully corrupted yet; decapitation should resolve it." Kana reminded.
He then charged forward directly, with the others following closely.
"Embrace, life, welcome, corruption."
The decaying goblins mumbled, producing these strange phrases.
As the words reached their ears, an urge to vomit surged from within them.
Kana nearly retched, as a goblin swung its decaying arm fiercely at him.
The retching momentarily broke Kana’s attack rhythm, forcing him to raise his left hand.
The long shield on his hand instantly extended, transforming into a round shield, magic power infused into it.
With a smashing blow, the recoiling vibration precisely absorbed the attack.
The swinging fist trembled and flew high, losing arm control, leaving it numb.
Kana lunged forward, slashing with his sword, but the blade got stuck in its decaying neck.
Cutting through the pus-filled sores burst them, splattering pus on his face, causing an immediate stinging sensation.
[Life: 14/16]
Manageable, and no status symptoms appeared.
His left shield morphed again, slamming onto the sword’s blade forcefully.
With a renewed force, he pushed the embedded blade through, severing the goblin’s head entirely.
In the instant the head fell, Kana quickly kicked it, sending it flying.
The flying head burst mid-air, with pus scattering everywhere.
"I knew it; it’s truly revolting."
But this also indicated that the goblins were being corrupted swiftly. Soon, decapitation wouldn’t suffice.
Experience +16
"?"
The sudden experience gain stunned Kana.
