The Glorious Evolution
Chapter 126: His Spiritual Leywell.
CHAPTER 126: HIS SPIRITUAL LEYWELL.
"Because it is." Ash’Kral smirked, "How do you think the seed helps Daywalkers access their Leywells? It uses their own spiritual prowess to brute force it and leave a backdoor for later entries."
"I understand..." Levi held his chin thoughtfully. "Since it requires an immense level of control to access one’s Leywell naturally, this is the only method available to enter it preemptively."
Instead of relying on the seed to do it for him, Levi was going to brute force it alone.
"Is it going to hurt?"
"Why ask when you know the answer?"
"Thought so." Levi smiled wryly.
Without further ado, Levi focused his spiritual vision on his Spiritual Leywell, which was situated in the center of his brain.
After some time, his vision started displaying a massive spherical spiritual white barrier suspended in a void... It was closed shut and rotating slowly, akin to a celestial body.
’It sure has grown.’ Levi smiled in satisfaction.
This wasn’t the first time he saw it... After all, it was unlocked the moment he lost his eyes, allowing him to start utilizing spiritual vision.
Unlocked in the sense that he could channel the spiritual energy residing within for mental abilities or such. But it didn’t mean that he could enter it.
’Now what?’
’Channel every ounce of solar energy to the pearl.’ Ash’Kral said calmly, ’We need to overcharge it to enhance your spiritual prowess as much as possible. Then, you will concentrate your spiritual vision on a single location of the barrier with the will to pierce through it.’
’Heads up, as you are doing this, you will be feeling pain. Toughen it up and don’t break focus.’ Ash’Kral warned solemnly, ’The moment your concentration falls apart, the barrier will repel you away.’
’Sounds straightforward enough.’ Levi nodded with a stern expression.
He understood that if he failed, he would have to try again later. While Levi hadn’t tasted the pain yet, he had no interest in doing this twice.
Levi pressed two fingers to the pearl. Everything else—sound, time, thought—fell away.
A subtle heat spread from the pearl, threading through his chest like smoke through hollow bone.
It wasn’t warm for comfort; it burned with purpose as he channeled every bit of solar energy to power it up.
The shimmering pearl started spinning faster and faster until it resembled an unstable neutron star in its last moments.
Like invisible claws, the pearl’s force dove into the depths of his mind, enhancing his spiritual prowess to unimaginable levels!
’Now!’
Then came the assault.
Levi channeled his spiritual energy into a single thought: Pierce the subconsciousness barrier!
The resistance was immediate and brutal. Hellish agony surged through Levi, making him grit his teeth until sparks were about to show.
It felt like his mind was tearing open from the inside, every hidden trauma and locked-away memory slamming against him like waves on a jagged cliff...
He screamed, but only inside. His body didn’t move.
Survive it, he reminded himself through clenched mental teeth... You asked for this.
The pain grew worse. His muscles trembled. His breath hitched. For a moment, he felt like he was slipping... like he’d drown inside the pain.
Yet, his original thought remained untouched, holding strong across the storm until...
A crack.
And then a shatter.
Light exploded behind his spiritual eyes, and everything went silent.
’I am... I am in.’
A split second later, Levi gasped at the scene before him.
His consciousness space stretched out in surreal silence, an endless horizon where sky and water met without a seam.
Overhead, three stars orbited a humanoid, featureless gray spirit in a celestial dance... One black as obsidian, one radiant gold, and the third a deep, pulsing red.
"The Three Origin Seeds are orbiting my soul..." He murmured in a daze as he watched their hypnotic, steady movement around his frozen, still soul.
As they shifted, so too did the color of the vast, still lake beneath.
The water mirrored the stars with perfect clarity, changing hue as they rotated. Sometimes glowing gold alone, sometimes swirling red and black, and at other times blending all three into a shifting spectrum of blood, shadow, and light.
The air held no wind, no sound... Only the quiet echo of Levi’s breath, as if the space itself existed just to reflect him.
This was it... His Spiritual Leywell.
A place like no other, a consciousness space that would send shivers down anyone’s spine, yet leave them marveling at its breathtaking magnificence.
"Welcome home." Ash’Kral beamed, manifesting on top of Levi’s right shoulder.
"Home... Huh."
Levi showed a wry smile. His spiritual eyes were affixed on his motionless soul, which made him feel like it was held hostage by the Three Origin Seeds.
They were orbiting around it nonstop, giving off a predatory vibe akin to three wolves circling a helpless sheep.
But he didn’t allow such negative emotions to consume his mind.
"I didn’t expect you to be my first partner to access his Spiritual Leywell while still at a Rookie stage... Heh, not bad." Ash’Kral remarked in satisfaction.
"Besides the known benefits, will this help with the Three-Body-Problem?" Levi inquired.
He knew that when Daywalkers gained access to their Spiritual Leywells, the Shadowlife seed would have already sprouted and had some of its roots interconnected with the soul.
In his case, he went inside before the seeds sprouted!
"Of course, this will give us a clean image of how the three seeds’ roots interacted with the soul and each other in the early stages." Ash’Kral nodded with a serious tone, "I always suffered from this department, which might be one of the reasons I keep failing at solving the Three-Body-Problem."
"I see..."
Levi also realized that for such a serious problem that required great attention to detail, getting a clear image of the seeds’ initial growth would make a huge difference.
He might be able to manipulate the direction of the roots to avoid touching each other inside the soul, guiding them steadily.
"We will find out when the sprouting occurs after the evolution stage." Ash’Kral said calmly, "For now, put a backdoor to be safe lest someone breaks the connection off."
"Show me how," Levi asked swiftly, realizing that if his fat-ass brother stepped inside the room at any moment, his danger instincts would wake him up.
"It’s easy, just leave a dormant wisp of your consciousness behind." Ash’Kral shared, "When you decide to enter your Leywell, you can easily connect to the dormant wisp."
"..." Levi gazed at him silently.
"Go ahead and pull a small piece from your soul. Then, leave it anywhere." Ash’Kral shared patiently.
When it came to the quest to fulfill his goal, he had all the patience in the world for Levi’s ignorance.
Levi floated towards his soul, avoiding making contact with the gigantic orbiting seeds. Then, he pulled a handful from his soul, seemingly holding a small fluffy cloud. When he did this, he felt a slight painful chill, but it stopped at that.
"It’s healing quite fast..." Levi murmured, a bit astonished to see his ’wounded’ soul recover the missing piece at a noticeable speed.
"That’s the benefit of your current enhanced spiritual prowess. Once the pearl stops the boost, the healing process will slow down." Ash’Kral answered.
"I swear, this artifact is a gift that doesn’t stop giving."
Levi showed a pleased grin as he went down and sent the wisp to float around randomly. He could tell that the wisp was separated from his soul while still maintaining a direct connection.
"Now, all you have to do is link your consciousness to the wisp, and you will teleport inside each time you think of it." Ash’Kral said.
Levi did as he was told, using his will to reach out to the wisp and establishing the link by willing it... Since it was part of his soul, the wisp accepted his will, akin to a royal decree.
Then, Levi exited the Leywell, wanting to experience the ’backdoor’ personally. It took him a few seconds at most to return. Only this time, the wisp’s cloudy form reshaped itself into Levi’s form.
"I did it."
Levi smiled in delight as he gazed at his arms, noticing no difference from entering the Leywell using his main consciousness... But soon, a sudden idea struck him out of nowhere.
’If my wisp can stay here, will it be possible to bring in other wisps?’
His mind ran the numbers and ended up with nothing that would shoot down this idea. Still, he turned to Ash’Kral for confirmation.
"It’s possible, though you will have to go through the same brute force process again." Ash’Kral replied lazily, "Until you master your subconscious, nothing enters normally."
"It’s fine, as long as it is doable," Levi smirked... A wicked plan was gradually concocted in his mind.
