The Grand Duke's Son Is A Heretic
Chapter 386 386: 386
Another pair of hands tore out of Hal's sides, ripping from his ribs in a spray of blood and black mist. The new arms slammed forward, joining the first pair to crush Kael between them.
He pushed his palms aiming to flatten Kael.
"Haahhh!" Hal's roar thundered across the battlefield.
"That's how ants should be—"His words froze in the middle.
Through the gap of his giant palms, he saw something impossible. The human's figure stood stout, his legs pushing back against the crushing force.
"You…" Hal's crimson eyes narrowed, rage boiling in his voice. He pressed harder causing the ground to tremble under the weight of his strength. "You dare!"
Kael's teeth clenched, his body trembling but unyielding. His foot held against the pressure, muscles flaring with mana.
"Damn it," Kael hissed. "That's why I hate these monsters. Their transformations are a real headache."
He knew well the power of demon bloodlines.
Each clan carried its own curse of strength. The leviathans were known for their massive giant forms, and worse, their ability to grow extra limbs. Hal was far below the kings of the clan.
The true kings could sprout dozens of arms, each capable of tearing mountains apart. Kael remembered those old battles with a heavy heart. He gritted his teeth, forcing more mana into his legs.
With a twist of his sole, Kael pushed himself free, slipping upward through the gap and shooting straight toward Hal's face.
Hal growled, his massive palms snapping shut behind, but Kael was already above them. He dragged his sword behind him that erupted with crimson particles burning along its edge.
"Let's finish this. I'll take your head."
The blade burned with power, ready to slash down.
But then,Hal opened his jaws wide.
Kael's body froze midair as he realized too late what was about to happen.
"Shit!"
A massive beam of light burst out from Hal's throat that struck Kael.It split into dozens of smaller beams that cut across the sky like raining death.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The mountains shook as explosions ripped through the battlefield. Beams rained down like fire, blasting into the ground. Craters spread wide as stone shattered. Hills collapsed into rubble. Dust and snowstorms mixed, covering the land in chaos. Demons caught in the blasts screamed as they were torn apart, their bodies reduced to ash.
"Gaahhh!"
"Coughhh!"
The land turned black and broken, dotted with smoking holes.
From one pile of debris, Kael staggered out. His body was covered in soot, with a part of his skin burnt and torn. Blood ran down his chin as he coughed hard.
"Coughhh… Damn…" He wiped his lips, forcing himself to stand. His sword arm trembled, but his eyes burned bright. "If not for my slash at the last second, I'd be gone. That bastard nearly cooked me alive."
He looked up, seeing Hal's towering figure searching the field, his steps crushing hills into dust.
Kael smirked faintly, his lips curling.
"Hey, idiot!" His voice cut through the smoke.
"I'm still here. If you want me, come and get me, you big beast."
Hal's eyes locked on him. Rage burned like fire.
"Human…" Hal's roar shattered the air. "You dare to challenge me despite being injured!"
He charged forward, each step shaking the ground. Snow cracked under his massive weight, and the hills behind him split apart as his aura surged.
Kael steadied his breath, gripping his sword. Snowflakes fell, mixing with ash and fire. The air was thick and heavy.
The demon's colossal hand swung at him like a mountain collapsing. Kael moved.
CLANG!
The sword cut across the air, deflecting the massive strike. Sparks burst like lightning as steel met raw flesh. Hal roared as his hand was sent flying, severed from the wrist. Blood gushed like a fountain, splattering the ground red.
"Arghhhhhh!" Hal howled, shaking the mountains. "My hands!"
Kael's figure blurred, his sword already moving again. He slipped through Hal's shadow, his strikes fast and merciless.
SHIIING!
Another arm fell, ripped apart at the elbow. The giant's body trembled as blood sprayed. The snow around them turned crimson.
Kael moved like a phantom, cutting piece by piece. His blade slashed through tendons, carving deep wounds into the demon's massive chest and legs.
Each strike was followed by a roar.
"Graaaahhh!"
"Curse you, human!"
Hal swung wildly, his massive arms smashing the hills into dust. Explosions of dirt and rock filled the air.
Kael weaved between them, his afterimages flickering across the battlefield. Every movement was sharp and precise, like a dance of death.
Their clash shook the land. Sword threads cut through mountains, leaving scars on the hills. Hal's palms slammed down, cratering the earth and throwing snow into the sky like storms.
Kael's eyes stayed cold as his blade slashed through the giant's shoulder, cutting it open in a spray of blood. He leapt onto Hal's arm, running over it and jumped.
Hal thrashed, but in a single breath, he stood at the demon's chest and slashed.
The crimson blade shone as he drove the sword deep, the sound of tearing flesh echoing across the snowy hills.
Hal's roar shook the skies as his giant body staggered. His blood poured down his chest, emitting steam as it hit the frozen ground.
Snow turned black and red beneath him. His claws ripped through the air, smashing hills into pieces.
Kael's eyes stayed sharp. He leapt back, landing on broken stone, his sword .
Hal bent forward, his breath steaming like fire. His teeth ground against each other. "Human… you will not leave here alive!"
"Stop that bullshit…You are just all screaming but no bite."
With a deafening cry, Hal charged ahead forming another pair of arms from the cut portion. His massive fist swung, tearing through the air.
Kael darted to the side. The strike landed on the mountain wall behind him.
BOOOOM!
The cliff collapsed, raining down boulders and snow. Dust clouded the battlefield.
From within the haze, Kael's blade cut across.
SHIIING!
Hal's wrist split open, blood spraying like a river. He roared in pain, but his other arm lashed out, slamming into the ground. The shockwave knocked Kael off balance. Stones and frozen earth blasted upward.
Kael flipped in midair, landing light on his feet. He steadied his breath, his sword raised.
"Too slow," he whispered, then rushed in.
Their clash filled the night. Sparks burst as the sword met claw. Each strike echoed like thunder. Kael's blade cut through scales and flesh, while Hal's arms slammed the ground, each impact shaking the valley.
Kael's movements blurred. He ducked under one strike, rolled forward, and cut deep into Hal's thigh. The giant stumbled, his massive knee bending under his weight.
"Arghhhh!" Hal screamed. His hands swept out in rage, creating waves of force.
Kael was thrown back by the blast, skidding across the cracked ground. He spat blood but pushed himself up. His boots sank into snow as the earth groaned beneath their battle.
Hal crushed demons beneath his steps without care. His madness swallowed friend and foe alike.
Kael steadied his sword. His eyes locked on the giant's chest. He dashed forward, weaving between falling debris and collapsing ground.
Hal swung down both hands to crush him.
Kael slashed upward.
CLANG!
The impact split the night. Sparks flew as Kael's blade deflected the crushing force. Hal's arm split open, bone showing through torn flesh. The giant staggered back, roaring in pain.
Kael didn't stop. His sword traced crimson arcs across the air. Each slash ripped into Hal's body, carving wounds into his chest and shoulders.
Blood poured down, steaming in the cold air. The snow turned black, the smell of iron choking the valley.
Hal roared and opened his mouth wide. Another beam of light charged within his throat.
Kael's eyes narrowed.
The beam fired.
Kael moved, his figure flashing upward like lightning. The light cut across the land, blasting apart a mountain peak in the distance. The explosion lit the night like day, snow avalanching down the slopes.
Kael soared above Hal's head. His sword glowed with condensed crimson energy.
"Die."
He slashed down.
The blade struck Hal's forehead, cutting through his horn and splitting deep into his skull.
Hal screamed, staggering backward. His massive hands reached up to grab Kael, but Kael slipped between his fingers, landing on his chest and slashing again.
Each strike dug deeper. His sword cut through muscle, bone, and sinew.
Hal swayed, his body breaking apart piece by piece. His roars grew weaker, more desperate.
"Impossible… a human… cannot…"
Kael's eyes remained cold. "You've killed enough."
He leapt once more, reaching the giant's throat. With one final swing, he drove his blade across.
SHRRRKKK!
The sword cut cleanly. Blood erupted in a fountain, spraying across the battlefield. Hal's head rolled back, his massive body swaying.
BOOOOOOM!
The leviathan crashed onto the ground. The impact shook the earth, splitting the valley open with cracks that stretched for miles. Snow avalanched down, covering broken bodies and shattered stone.
Silence fell, broken only by the crackle of fires and the distant screams of demons still fleeing.
Kael stood on the giant's fallen body, his sword dripping with blood. His breath came heavy, but his eyes never wavered.
Around him, the land lay ruined. Hills were torn apart, and the mountains were shattered.
Blood painted the snow crimson.
Kael slowly lowered his sword, crimson particles fading from its edge. His lips curled faintly, though his voice was quiet.
"One more demon down."
Feeling a bit fatigue,he sat over the corpses and rummaged through the pocket.
