The Grants: Choosing One Between The Two
Chapter 115: Ethan Grant’s Favoritism
CHAPTER 115: CHAPTER 115: ETHAN GRANT’S FAVORITISM
Grant Group.
Yvette exited the subway station and hurried into the company.
As Ethan Grant’s assistant, she needed to arrive at the office before Mr. Grant.
"Yvette! What a coincidence, why are you here?" In the company’s lounge area, Wendy Bell called out to Yvette excitedly.
Today, she was dressed beautifully, with long black hair naturally cascading down, snow-white skin, a perfectly applied nude makeup, and wearing a white dress, her smile as radiant as a blossoming snow lotus.
Yvette was taken aback for a moment, Wendy Bell...
She suddenly remembered that Henry Jennings had mentioned that there seemed to be some romantic entanglement between Wendy Bell and Ethan Grant.
Her heart tightened a little, and Yvette instinctively clenched her fingers. "Miss Bell."
"Are you an employee at Grant Group?" Wendy Bell asked in surprise.
Yvette nodded.
"Yvette, you’re amazing! Getting into Grant Group isn’t something just anyone can do; it’s usually people from the top universities. Which university did you attend, Yvette?" Wendy Bell looked at Yvette with admiration.
Yvette took a deep breath and glanced back at the employees whispering about them.
It was work time, and there were many employees in the lobby.
Wendy Bell’s innocent face made it hard to believe she was doing it deliberately.
But Yvette had long since learned not to trust appearances.
Beneath an innocent exterior might not lie a kind heart.
"What brings Miss Bell here?" Yvette asked politely.
"I’m here to wait for Ethan." Wendy Bell said happily, holding Yvette’s fingers. "Have you seen Ethan Grant while working here? He’s very handsome, just like I told you."
Wendy Bell whispered conspiratorially in Yvette’s ear: "He’s the one I like."
Yvette’s body went rigid; she didn’t say a word.
"Miss Bell, why have you come here? Please come in," Ethan Grant’s secretary came personally to receive her, reproaching the receptionist. "In the future, when Miss Bell arrives, she doesn’t need to wait. Mr. Grant instructed that she can come and go freely."
Ethan Grant had made an exception for Wendy Bell.
"Yvette, why are you still standing there! Go tend to Miss Bell." The secretary reprimanded Yvette for not being perceptive enough as an assistant.
Yvette paused momentarily before quickly stepping forward. "This way, Miss Bell."
"Our Mr. Grant has never given anyone special treatment. Every time Miss Bell comes, she receives high-level treatment, and Mr. Grant has personally received her several times. I think she might very well be our future boss’s wife."
"I also heard that the Bell and Grant families are considering a marriage alliance. Our Junior President Grant is already engaged to The Aston Family’s heiress, so Mr. Grant is the only one left."
Yvette followed the secretary and Wendy Bell into the elevator absent-mindedly, overhearing the gossip at the reception.
"Miss Bell, this is Mr. Grant’s assistant. If you need anything, just have her take care of it," the secretary said obsequiously.
Yvette frowned slightly. She was Ethan Grant’s assistant, not everyone’s.
For some reason, she felt somewhat unhappy.
"Yvette! You’re Ethan’s assistant," Wendy Bell said with surprise, then joyfully clung to Yvette’s arm. "We’re good sisters, you have to help me keep an eye on Ethan, alright? If any little temptress tries to take him from me, you must help me."
Wendy Bell said, half-jokingly.
Yvette remained silent, her head lowered, her emotions complex.
"Yvette, take good care of Miss Bell. She might be our future Mrs. Grant, the boss’s wife." As Wendy Bell walked ahead, the secretary leaned in close to Yvette. "Don’t say I didn’t warn you, you have to curry favor."
Yvette’s fingers tightened nervously, but she said nothing.
After her relationship with Ethan Grant ends, will he marry Wendy Bell?
Wendy Bell is beautiful and clean, with no scent of perfume or essence on her, clearly the type Ethan would like.
"Yvette, I didn’t have breakfast this morning and my blood sugar’s low. Could you help me buy some breakfast?" Wendy Bell asked softly from Ethan Grant’s office.
Yvette hesitated, wanting to refuse; it was almost work time, Ethan Grant would arrive soon, and she couldn’t be late as an assistant.
"Miss Bell..."
"Yvette, I’m so hungry," Wendy Bell pleaded. "If I ask Ethan to buy breakfast, he’ll be mad at me. If he knows I ran out without eating, he’ll definitely be unhappy. Please, please."
Yvette looked at Wendy Bell and nodded. "Okay."
Turning and hurrying to the elevator, Yvette quickly left to buy Wendy Bell’s breakfast.
After Yvette left, Wendy Bell glanced at her watch.
Ethan Grant hated tardiness and had a strong sense of time.
At precisely eight-thirty, Ethan Grant entered the office.
Seeing Wendy Bell there, Ethan Grant frowned and instinctively looked for Yvette. "Mr. Grant, where is your assistant? There’s a meeting at eight-forty, where are the materials prepared for you?"
The secretary, following Ethan Grant inside, anxiously searched for Yvette.
This assistant was too inconsiderate, running about aimlessly.
"Ethan, is it something important? Should I help you find it?" Wendy Bell asked innocently, looking at Ethan Grant.
Ethan Grant said nothing. "Why aren’t you resting at home? What are you doing here?"
Wendy Bell got up and walked to Ethan’s side, acting coy. "Ethan, I missed you."
Ethan Grant stepped back, keeping his distance. "Have Christopher drive you back."
After speaking, Ethan looked at the secretary. "Call Yvette and find out where she is!"
Ethan Grant was clearly displeased.
"Ethan, is this your new assistant? How can she run around during work hours?" Wendy Bell asked innocently.
Ethan checked the time. "The company is very busy recently; I haven’t had time to see you. I was supposed to have time this Saturday, but the Solara project requires me to go earlier."
"That’s why I’m here," Wendy Bell said happily. "Scott Aldridge from Varden International is my senior from Meridia A University. We’re on good terms. I’ll go with you on Saturday to meet him, I’ve already set it up."
Wendy Bell wanted to meet the business partner as Ethan Grant’s companion.
Ethan Grant frowned. "Work is not a child’s game."
"I’m helping you out. I heard Jayden went to Solara early, and your stepmother also wants that project. Of course, I’m going to help you," Wendy Bell said confidently.
"Let’s talk about it later."
Outside, Yvette received a call from the secretary and hurried back.
She hadn’t had time to buy breakfast, and she returned empty-handed.
Compared to Wendy Bell, Ethan Grant was naturally more important to her.
"Mr. Grant, sorry, I didn’t know the Stephen project was moved up; here’s the prepared material." Yvette rushed into the office, hurriedly finding the documentation. "I apologize."
"Yvette, what’s going on? Why are you running around during work as an assistant?" The secretary followed in, her voice carrying reproach.
Yvette glanced at Wendy Bell, then looked at the secretary, understanding the situation in her heart.
Wendy Bell looked innocent. "Yvette, Ethan has a strong sense of time. You work so hard as his assistant."
Yvette instinctively looked at Ethan Grant, bowing to apologize. "Sorry, Miss Bell, I didn’t get the breakfast."
Wendy Bell’s expression darkened for a moment; Yvette really had a way...
Ethan Grant’s eyes also dimmed as he stood up and took the materials from Yvette. "You are my assistant and only need to follow my orders. What are you running around for during work hours? Come to the meeting with me."
Although Yvette felt a bit aggrieved after being ’scolded’ by Ethan Grant,
it was evident that Ethan wasn’t truly reproaching her, but rather reminding her that she was his assistant alone and didn’t need to follow others’ orders.
