The Grants: Choosing One Between The Two
Chapter 161: Ethan Breaks with the Grant Family for Yvette Aston
CHAPTER 161: CHAPTER 161: ETHAN BREAKS WITH THE GRANT FAMILY FOR YVETTE ASTON
Yvette looked at Ethan Grant in shock.
Was he planning to completely tear the relationship apart today?
He even informed the police and the media.
This is...
Taking a deep breath, Yvette tightly gripped Ethan’s sleeve.
A complete break with Arthur Grant wouldn’t benefit his current situation at all...
Ethan just turned his hand to hold Yvette’s, smiling at her. "I promised you’d have a show to watch."
He would never let this matter rest.
"You’re crazy... truly insane!" Arthur Grant’s voice began to shake.
Jayden stood there in a daze, watching the exchange of glances between Ethan and Yvette, feeling as if a knife had been plunged into his heart.
"You’ve let this vixen enchant you!" Arthur angrily grabbed a vase from the table and hurled it at Yvette and Ethan.
Ethan frowned, instinctively shielding Summers in his arms, turning to block Yvette from the shards.
"Ms. Crowe, you are suspected of inciting intentional harm, please come with us for investigation."
"Arthur..."
"This is a misunderstanding, all a misunderstanding, it’s our family matter, we’ll handle it ourselves," Melody Crowe panicked, nervously looking at Arthur.
It was a critical time for the vice president selection.
Even though she knew Arthur had ways to get her out, she was unwilling.
What if something unexpected happened.
Glaring at Ethan with hatred, Melody spoke angrily. "Ethan Grant, you’re ignoring your father for a woman."
"You’re so vicious..." Summers said timidly, hugging Ethan tightly with a pained expression. "Dad, they don’t want you, Summers will protect you in the future."
Ethan just felt a lump in his throat, and his eyes were slightly heated.
Smiling, he patted Summers’ head, nodding.
"Mr. Grant, we’ve heard that your wife is suspected of poisoning you, is that true?"
"Mr. Grant, was it your wife’s order for the maid at The Solara Hotel to poison you?"
"Mr. Grant, what’s your take on this matter?"
"What’s your opinion on your current wife harming the son of your first wife?"
Outside the iron gate, reporters were everywhere.
The butler and servants frantically closed the gate but couldn’t stop the crowd.
"Mr. Grant, please come forward and explain."
The reporters were in chaos outside.
The police gestured for Melody to go with them.
"This is a misunderstanding, with so many reporters present, I can’t just leave with you," Melody refused. "If anything, contact my lawyer."
"Ms. Crowe, do not obstruct our work," the officer frowned.
"What’s your badge number!" Melody shouted shrilly, her voice out of control.
"Do not obstruct official duties! Now you realize being disgraced in front of reporters, your disregard for the law, your extremely malicious behavior, and reckless actions," the officer said angrily, signaling Melody to leave with him.
Arthur was so angry he could barely stand, raising a trembling hand to point at Ethan, unable to utter a word.
"Don’t touch my mom," Jayden angrily attempted to protect Melody.
"Obstructing official duties, take you along too," the officer said in a low voice.
"Jayden! Step aside," Arthur spoke, letting the police take Melody away.
Melody never expected her assistant to betray her.
Clenching her teeth, she wasn’t worried about any major issues arising.
Organizing her thoughts, Melody spoke to Ethan in front of the reporters. "Ethan, Auntie is wronged, Auntie will prove her innocence."
"Whether innocent or not, justice is known to all," Ethan looked at the reporters outside, speaking again. "I hope this experience will teach you a proper lesson."
The reporters photographed and videotaped, watching this grand family conflict unfold.
This was truly a war without smoke, truly bustling.
Everyone knew that once this news was released, it would definitely be on the front page, with its popularity possibly not fading for half a month.
"Get out! All of you, get out," Arthur was still smashing things in the living room.
Ethan lifted the corners of his mouth, placing Summers in Yvette’s arms, then taking off his coat to cover Yvette and Summers’ heads. "Have you enjoyed the show? Ready to go home and eat?"
With red eyes, Yvette looked at Ethan. "What do you want to eat?"
"Whatever you make, I’ll eat," Ethan said quietly.
Yvette lowered her head, her eyes moist. "Let’s go."
"Yvette..." Chase Sinclair chased after them, wanting to talk to Yvette.
Clearly, he was unwilling to accept it.
Looking at Ethan’s demeanor, he couldn’t tell if he was acting.
He didn’t know whether Ethan was really with Yvette or if he was purposely bringing her to agitate Jayden and Melody.
Yvette didn’t look back and got into Ethan’s car.
Christopher Carter drove them away, reporters chased the car for quite a distance.
"PR, handle this, don’t let the momentum die down," Ethan’s voice was low.
Christopher’s palms were sweating, hesitating to speak.
He was really worried now...
At this time, completely tearing apart from the Grant Family was clearly not the best move.
Instead, it gave Melody a chance.
Once Arthur decides to team up with Melody against Ethan, Ethan’s situation will become even more precarious.
Yvette seemingly understood this too, knowing that Ethan’s path ahead would be more challenging.
She just couldn’t understand why Ethan, usually a cautious person...
Was it for her?
How could it be.
"Mr. Grant..." Yvette spoke softly.
"In the next half-month, Melody and Arthur will both lay low. We only have half a month to eliminate Eric Larson before Melody regroups. Can you do it?" Ethan looked at Yvette.
Yvette took a deep breath. "I can."
Ethan raised an eyebrow. "Good."
"Yvette, don’t overpromise... Half a month, you..." Christopher was a bit worried for Yvette, worried she wouldn’t pull it off and would be discouraged then.
"I can." Yvette answered earnestly. "This time, Mr. Grant has torn his face with the Grant Family, Jayden certainly won’t keep hiding, if I’m right, he’ll openly return to the company tomorrow, directly competing with Mr. Grant head-on! With Melody not around, someone like Jayden, with just a slight provocation, will definitely make a mistake."
Yvette bit her lip and spoke again. "And Eric Larson too."
"Are you sure you know Jayden that well?" Christopher asked.
"I’ve known Jayden since I was a teenager... I know him well." Yvette nodded.
Ethan’s face darkened and he kicked the driving seat. "Focus on the road!"
Christopher nervously drove, palms still sweating.
This time, whether they could successfully get rid of Eric Larson was crucial.
Jayden would definitely make a scene at the company tomorrow.
"Yvette... The card of Eric Larson is crucial, it’s not child’s play." As they got out of the car, Christopher repeatedly reminded. "Eric Larson is an old fox, finding fault to fire him is impossible."
"I’ll do my best..." Yvette kept saying she could.
Ethan had helped her, so she would certainly help Ethan.
No matter how difficult, she would fight with all her might.
"You can leave now." Ethan warned Christopher, carrying Summers back home.
Christopher felt helpless, why was he always the one getting scolded? He was scared too.
Looking at what Ethan had done recently, he’d cornered himself.
He started thinking maybe Yvette had put some spell on their Mr. Grant...
