The Growth of a God
Chapter 58 - 10: God of Time
CHAPTER 58: CHAPTER 10: GOD OF TIME
[Have they found their way here already?]
In the depths of the mysterious realm, Li Hao curiously observed Yao Xin—studying this girl who had transformed overnight into someone unrecognizable.
A night for Li Hao equated to nearly a three-thousand-year span in this world.
In truth, Li Hao initially thought this was merely a normal discrepancy in time flow between two worlds.
However, through browsing a section related to the "God of Time" in the [Civilization Game·Official Hall], Li Hao was astonished to realize that his assumption was entirely wrong.
In the ancient prehistoric eras, the passage of time might have been different in every world.
Yet, with the arrival of the third Celestial Father, the time flow across All Heavens and Myriad Realms was, to some extent, unified.
This was a Celestial Father whose name and abilities had been forgotten.
The only thing known now is that He used His Supreme Divine Power to unify time flow across All Heavens and Myriad Realms.
Since then, there has never again been a situation where "the strong remain eternally strong, and the weak remain eternally weak."
No matter how weak a race is, at least in the concept of time, they are on par with the strongest Divine Race.
This means that even the weakest individual might catch up with those stagnating strong beings, instead of being crushed and obliterated by worlds where time flows faster.
[I will grant you eternal equality!]
This is the only sentence left to this world by the Celestial Father who was erased from the timeline.
This might be why that content panel strongly extols the "God of Time" in various worlds, suggesting they even have the potential to surpass the Divine King of this world.
Setting aside the accuracy of such a statement.
From a factual standpoint, Gods who have mastered "time" indeed have a huge advantage compared to other gods.
This is because as long as they have enough resources, Time Gods can allow their subjects and civilizations to develop to the fullest extent.
Of course, this advantage becomes less useful at the level of a god.
After all, which god known in All Heavens and Myriad Realms hasn’t gone through eons of time, fully exploiting their potential?
These gods may not inherently possess the ability to control time on a large scale, but they all, to varying extents, have collections of time-related Divine Artifacts.
Needless to say, Li Hao saw many time-related Secret Treasures up for sale at the place of the Faceless.
This indirectly proves that not all Time Gods are hoarders like Taotie, only accumulating but not sharing.
Li Hao even suspects if there is a special "chat room" among Time Gods.
They might gather at intervals to discuss and sell various time Secret Treasures, to reduce the malice from other gods towards Time Gods.
From Li Hao’s understanding of the current state of All Heavens and Myriad Realms, this is not impossible.
Because, while the ability of the time element is certainly precious and rare,
not all Time Gods are formidable War Gods.
Quite the opposite, based on Li Hao’s understanding, it seems most Gods of the Time Pantheon belong to the "old schemer" type of character.
Those truly renowned for powerful combat prowess can be counted on one hand.
Coincidentally, the "Candle-Biting Dragon: Zhu Jiuyin" seems to be, in Li Hao’s impression, one of the foremost, renowned for its formidable combat power among Time Gods.
Thus, Li Hao could finally confirm that the Mountain and Sea Realm’s own time flow was problematic.
Compared to other worlds, the time flow in the Mountain and Sea Realm was too fast, so fast that it even influenced the outside world to some extent.
A certain unfortunate god, just because he wanted to join the fun, ended up lost in the turbulent streams of time and is still missing to this day.
.........................................................
"The gate to another world?"
In front of Yao Xin and Hua She, hundreds of Evil Ghosts watched intently.
Unlike the ghosts or undead in Li Hao’s understanding, those referred to as "Evil Ghosts" by Yao Xin had tangible forms.
With terrifyingly hideous faces, their bodies were bulging with muscles...
Each Evil Ghost had a different shape and appearance.
Three heads and six arms, four faces and eight arms, human body and beast head, beast body and human head...
In short, within this group of Evil Ghosts, you could see any monster you could imagine.
Were it not for the dissipating remnants of Evil Ghosts killed by Yao Xin and Hua She, indicating they were not of real material bodies,
merely from their current form, it might really be difficult to associate them with the concept of "ghost."
"That is a world belonging to the Death Gods..."
"And also the culprit causing the ’Spiritual Essence’ in this world to mutate."
Following Hua She’s gaze, she saw behind those Evil Ghosts, a black vortex akin to a mirror quietly suspended mid-air.
"Spiritual Essence? You never mentioned this to me?"
Tilting her head in a pose identical to Gu Sheng’s, Yao Xin casually asked in a low voice.
"Uh, did I not mention it?"
Blinking in confusion.
It took Hua She a moment to react, realizing she had indeed never explained the concept related to "Spiritual Essence" to Yao Xin.
After all, in Hua She’s perspective, those were no longer basic knowledge, but instincts etched into the soul.
"Alright! It’s my oversight..."
Promptly admitting her mistake, Hua She seemed unconcerned about it.
As long as their course of action was correct, such knowledge was never too late to disseminate.
"Spiritual Essence is essentially the collective term for the ’fundamental elements of the soul’..."
"As for the soul? You can simply understand it as..."
Before Hua She could finish, Yao Xin suddenly spoke again, interrupting her.
"I know what a soul is. In the memories left by Father God, there is a related concept."
"Besides, when Father God descended, the first thing he did was drive your soul entity out of my body..."
"From that moment, I understood the essence of a soul."
"It carries everything of a creature’s past, a ’core’ transcending the physical body."
What Yao Xin did not continue to say was, this is also a major reason why the distinctive Immortals, each of various personalities, unanimously chose to open the Celestial Gate and embark on the Ascension Ladder—they were born without souls.
Since they lack the concept of Death, naturally there is no such thing as a soul.
Only by opening the Celestial Gate, reshaping themselves...
Those "Immortal from Birth" Immortals could regain a soul, allowing them to once again experience the beautiful things replete in memory.
