CHAPTER 183: CHAPTER 180- SOMEONE REWROTE THE LAWS OF THE DIMENSION
"There’s no time to waste, we need to... keep going."
Heon-Tae said while lying flat on his back, completely exhausted. He could barely utter those words.
Everyone looked at him, but they were too tired to curse him.
For the past two weeks, he was the most vocal about quickly disabling the Arrays. They were thankful for his encouragement at first, but after a few sleepless nights of disabling the Arrays, his encouragement quickly became rage-inducing.
After two weeks, they were able to disable all the Formation Arrays. However, it took them way longer to get through them than they initially thought. And this was when they didn’t take a break unless they were completely exhausted. Sleeping and eating were out of the question.
At this point, anyone would drop dead after coming within a hundred-meter radius due to the foul odor radiating from the eight youths.
So everyone chose to catch their breaths just a few meters away from the double doors leading into Immortal Shen’s Palace. Strangely, they were unable to see what was inside despite being so close to the entrance.
As everyone sat around resting, Mar-Dule and Yoon-Jae suddenly perked up. Both of them tapped their storage bags and took out a communication jade slip.
"Crap!"
"This isn’t good!"
The two yelled at the same time, prompting Sol and the others to look over at them.
"Brother Yoon-Jae, what is it?"
"The-"
Just as Yoon-Jae was about to respond, he suddenly paused. The solemn expression that was on his face was then replaced with a look of relief.
"That was too nerve-wracking!"
He yelled, his face drained of blood.
"What? What just happened?"
Heon-Tae urged Mar-Dule and Yoon-Jae to spit it out already.
"The dimension... It was just opened, and we received a few messages from the Elders outside."
"Ah!"
Heon-Tae involuntarily released a horrified cry as he looked at Mar-Dule, who had replied. Ji-Hoon, Byeong-Ho, and the two brothers Cheong-Su and Cheong-San also had solemn expressions appear on their faces.
Yoon-Jae glared at Mar-Dule and said.
"Idiot, at least tell them the full story. Guys, don’t worry, it was only opened for a brief moment before it closed."
"It’s Second Brother, something must have happened in the outside world."
Byeong-Ho said, and simultaneously, Ji-Hoon felt his jade slip receive a message. He hurriedly took it out and read it.
"It’s Second Brother!"
Heon-Tae, Byeong-Ho, Cheong-Su, and Cheong-San all rushed towards him.
"What did he say? Did something happen to him?"
Cheong-Su asked for all of them.
He and the others, along with Sol, Mar-Dule, and Yoon-Jae, watched as Ji-Hoon silently read the message inside the purple jade slip.
After a few seconds, Ji-Hoon sighed and placed the jade slip back into his storage bag.
"Second Brother said the Academy fixed the Multidimensional Teleportation Array ahead of schedule. So he had to improvise. As of now, we only have half a month until the dimension is open."
"What about Second Brother?"
Heon-Tae asked, but Ji-Hoon shook his head.
"He didn’t mention anything about his situation."
Heon-Tae clicked his tongue.
"That fool! If the Academy was ahead of schedule in fixing the Multidimensional Teleportation Array, then it means he had to do something drastic to slow them down. He might be in danger right now."
Byeong-Ho patted Heon-Tae with his only hand and reassured him.
"We just have to trust that Second Brother will be able to get out of Pearl City safely. He bought us half a month, so we shouldn’t waste it."
Sol stepped forward at this moment.
"Brother Byeong-Ho’s right. Let’s continue."
Yoon-Jae agreed with Sol’s words as he got up with the still-sleeping Little Zeel in his arms.
Sol beelined for the entrance of the Palace along with everyone. Though just before reaching it, he paused and raised his hand.
His hand was suddenly met with a golden barrier that resulted from a Formation. Compared to the ones they’ve managed to disable, this was unimaginably stronger. Sol wouldn’t even know where to start if he had to get past this barrier as well.
Luckily, his hand was only stopped by the barrier for a split second. The blue tattoo on his right hand lit up and seemed to resonate with the golden barrier around Immortal Shen’s Palace.
Sol’s hand then slipped through the barrier without any problems.
"I think this is where all of our Inheritances come in. Brother Yoon-Jae and Brother Mar-Dule, stay inside my Heavenly Samsara Formation when we enter."
Yoon-Jae and Mar-Dule nodded.
Sol then turned to Ji-Hoon, who nodded along with the others.
Heon-Tae took his Immortal Blade from his waist and cradled it in his arms like he was holding a baby. A golden Immortal aura was then released from the Immortal blade to cover his body and Ji-Hoon next to him.
Byeong-Ho, Cheong-Su, and Cheong-San did the same with their Inheritance.
After mentally preparing themselves, Sol looked at everyone one last time before he turned to enter the Palace.
They didn’t know what was waiting for them inside, so they needed to be on high alert.
"Wait!"
However, before they could enter, Mar-Dule suddenly yelled for them to stop.
Everyone instinctively perked up, thinking that danger had appeared, but Mar-Dule then added.
"I need to ask a question to clear up something before we enter."
Yoon-Jae immediately glared at him for scaring them like that.
"Sorry, sorry, but there’s just something that’s been bothering me. It’s really important, so I want to bring it up before we enter."
They just got information that they only had half a month left. Was this the right time to be asking questions?
However, Sol saw Mar-Dule’s expression and realized this was really bothering him. He paused, as he had a vague feeling as to what he was worried about.
Sol took a step back from the barrier and asked.
"What question do you want to ask Brother Mar-Dule?"
Heon-Tae and the others retrieved their Immortal aura in the meantime.
"Brother Sol, don’t you realize the Formation Arrays were weird? We had difficulty disabling them, but don’t you think they were extremely weak?"
Sol nodded.
"I think they’ve weakened over time, it’s to be expected since they’ve been here for who knows how long. If that weren’t the case, we might have needed to give up on Immortal Dai Shen’s Inheritance."
Yoon-Jae and the others were surprised, but upon further thought, that didn’t seem out of the ordinary.
"Yeah, but don’t you see that’s the weird part? If they’re so weak, why haven’t the Six Holy Sects and the Five Great Clans snatch the Inheritance? This barrier..."
Mar-Dule pointed at the golden barrier that prevented them from seeing anything inside the Palace.
"...you say that only those who have the Inheritances from the Subsidiary Palaces can enter it. I’ve been thinking about it, and things just don’t add up. I refuse to believe that in all the years this dimension was owned by the Academy, the Six Holy Sects, and the Five Great Clans weren’t aware of those Inheritances as well as Immortal Shen’s Palace. And that’s when I remember something."
Mar-Dule turned to look at Heon-Tae.
"The Inheritance you gain, don’t tell me you don’t recognize it. That Blade Skill you used and what Brother Sol copied, isn’t that one of the Peng Clan’s Secret Martial Skills, Heaven Cleaver? It’s just way, way stronger."
"Huh?!"
Yoon-Jae was shocked, but he thought about it and realized Mar-Dule was right.
"Also, Brother Byeong-Ho, your Sword Inheritance. Based on my theory, I’m sure you’ve received Martial Skills that seem familiar to the Namgung Clan’s Martial Arts."
Byeong-Ho nodded.
"But I didn’t accept them."
Mar-Dule frowned.
"If the Namgung Clan and Peng Clan had received those subsidiary Palaces’ Inheritances in the past, wouldn’t it be safe to assume Immortal Dai Shen’s Inheritance was taken? But why are you all so confident it’s still here? Is there something you’re not telling us?"
Sol frowned and turned to look at Ji-Hoon.
He had found it odd that the subsidiary Inheritances were still there and weren’t taken by the Six Holy Sects and the Five Great Clans as well, but now he was hearing that they had indeed been taken.
Mar-Dule didn’t add it because it was too obvious, but the Jeagal Clan having the same linking and overlapping method as Su Moon’s Inheritance means they’ve acquired some kind of Inheritance as well.
But aside from the Jeagal Clan, what about the Namgung Clan and the Peng Clan? If they had gotten to the Sword Immortal Inheritance and Blade Immortal Inheritance in the Subsidiary Palaces first, then what kind of Inheritance did Byeong-Ho and Heon-Tae obtain then?
Also, Sol would have to assume that the Inheritance Cheong-Su and Cheong-San had been related to the Tang Clan and the Jieun Clan somehow.
Mar-Dule was right, Ji-Hoon and the others weren’t telling them something.
Sol glanced towards Byeong-Ho.
Byeong-Ho met his gaze and immediately shook his head.
"Brother Sol, I know I haven’t been honest with you in the past, but that was out of necessity. This time, I truly do not know."
"My Brother and I don’t know either."
Chang-Su said.
"Well, since I don’t know anything either, then that only leaves Eldest Brother."
Heon-Tae quickly followed up.
Everyone turned to look at Ji-Hoon.
Seeing this, Ji-Hoon waved his hands frantically and said.
"I don’t know much about this matter either. Sect Leader wouldn’t tell me, no matter how much I asked him."
"Huh? Wah-Wait, your Sect Leader? Isn’t that Cheonma?! Are you saying that Cheonma is still alive?!"
Mar-Dule was dumbfounded by this news, but he looked around to see that he was the only one who was shocked.
"So, I’m the only one who didn’t know?"
Mar-Dule asked bitterly.
"What did Mas-I mean, the Sect Leader say?"
"Well, the whole reason we started this plan four years ago was that Sect Leader brought us together and told us about Immortal Dai Shen’s Inheritance and how to obtain it. The few times he contacted me over the years, I asked this very question. But the only thing he responded with was that those Inheritances belong to our Forgotten Sect, and only the disciples of the Forgotten Sect can obtain the full Inheritance. And Sect Leader was right; everyone was able to get the full Inheritances at the Subsidiary Palaces. I suspect Clans like the Namgung Clan only gain a small part using some method. So, if it’s like this then there is no reason to worry that Immortal Dai Shen’s Inheritance was taken from the Palace."
"That’s... Go back for a second. Why is it that the Inheritances can only be obtained by the disciples of the Forgotten Sect?"
Mar-Dule asked, confused.
"I don’t know, Sect Leader never elaborated."
Sol thought that was just like his Master. Everything almost seemed deliberate on his part.
"It’s because someone rewrote the Laws of the dimension."
Little Abdu suddenly opened his eyes and answered from atop Sol’s head.
