The Heiress Nobody Saw Coming (Natalie and Marcus)
Chapter 706
Maggie took one look at Samuel''s stunned expression and saw right through him.
He was a hypocrite. Even a housekeeper like her could tell who the real victim
was here, and who was truly to me.
Yet, Samuel had the nerve to stand there acting like some kind of saint, saying he
didn''t mind what happened to Sierra, like he was doing her a huge favor just by
tolerating her.
Men like him were the worst. They said they didn''t mind, acted all magnanimous
in the moment-but the second a fight broke out, they''d use it like a weapon and
throw it in her face like it was her shame to carry.
She finally understood why Sierra refused to see Samuel ever again. With a man
like this? If he were her son, she''d beat the crap out of him herself.
Of course, she didn''t dare say any of that out loud. Instead, she kept her tone
even as she said, "Mr. Sinir, men are physically stronger than women. If a man
forces himself on a woman, there''s no way she can fight back.
"And what a woman suffers in those moments is not just physical. The
psychological trauma is immeasurable.
"And if her own family doesn''tfort or support her, but instead throws insults or
says things like, ''I don''t mind'' like she should be grateful then she should
never, ever stay with a man like that."
Maggie was on a roll now. She added, "Because men like that are cowards and
selfish to the core."
She didn''t even bother to nce at Samuel''s increasingly sour expression. "Let''s
just be brutally honest here. Plenty of women have taken back cheating
husbands.
"But how many men can truly ept a woman who''s been with another man,
especially in a situation where it wasn''t her choice?
"Some men are just disgusting. They go around doing whatever they want, but
demand their women stay pure and untouched.
"Where do they get the nerve? You''d think the world revolves around them. That
without them, Earth would just stop spinning.
"And just because they''ve got a little extra muscle, that gives them the right to
judge? Frankly speaking, a lot of them don''t even know what to do with it. And
they still dare to act like they''re superior."
"That''s enough," Samuel snapped. "Maggie, I hired you to work, not to gossip."
"But Mr. Sinir, you''re the one who asked me," Maggie shot back. "I''m just
answering your question. Am I not allowed to have an opinion?"
"And let''s go back to what I was saying earlier," she continued, not waiting for a
reply.
"My son isn''t rich or powerful, but he loves his wife. Whenever she goes out, he
drives her. He''d never let her walk alone at night. And even when they argue, he
never lets her storm off on her own. If anything ever happened to her-God forbid
she were assaulted or hurt-my son would me himself, not her.
"What kind of man lets something like that happen to his wife and then mes
her? Or worse acts like staying with her afterward makes him some kind of
hero?
"Any man who thinks like that doesn''t deserve a wife. He deserves to grow old
alone, be miserable, and be forgotten. Anyway, I''m done talking. I''ve got work to
do."
Maggie walked over and took her phone straight from Samuel''s hand before he
could blow up again, then darted into the kitchen. Once she was safely hidden,
she quickly messaged Sierra.
Maggie: "Ms. Remington, I just went off on Mr. Sinir. If I get fired, would you
consider hiring me? I''m fast, clean, and am on the women''s side."
Maggie: "Ms. Remington, I have a feeling I''m about to be jobless. Mr. Sinir
might use his power to cklist me in the whole city. Please, I''m begging you-
help me out!"
Sierra: "Huh?"
Maggie followed up with several 60-second voice messages, spilling the entire
conversation with Samuel.
Sierra was rendered speechless.
Maggie: "Ms. Remington, I just couldn''t stand him anymore. He pissed me off so
bad that I just snapped. He told me to shut up, and he looked like he was about to
explode. I swear, I''ve never seen a man with such a nasty temper. He acts like
he''s sick or something."
Maggie: "I know it''s unprofessional to talk this way about my boss, but I really
couldn''t help it! Don''t you think Mr. Sinir must be mentally unstable to ask me
those kinds of questions? He even dragged my daughter-inw into it as an
example! I think I showed remarkable restraint, honestly."
Maggie: "It''s a shame, though. The pay was really good. Guess I won''t be seeing
that again."
Sierra: "If he fires you,e to me. I''ll give you a job. I was just thinking I need
someone to help care for my parents anyway."
Maggie: "Really? Thank you, Ms. Remington! I knew you were a kind soul! Mr.
Sinir has such a temper. He doesn''t deserve someone like you. You''re doing
the right thing by not seeing him."
Maggie: "Oh, I''m deleting our chat now. You should, too! I don''t want Mr. Sinir
finding out and ruining my chances of working again."
Sierra: "Alright..."
After replying to Maggie, Sierra found herself reconsidering her decisions. She
hadn''t nned to see Samuel again, but after listening to Maggie''s voice
messages, she changed her mind. Some things had to be said face to face. If he
wouldn''t listen over the phone, then she''d tell him in person.
She told her parents and Samantha about it and made another request. "I want to
bring female bodyguards with me. Even if Samuel has a broken leg right now, an
angry man is still dangerous.
"In fact, I want two male bodyguards waiting outside as backup," she added.
"Ms. ir, I haven''t lived in Dithoria State in years. My parents don''t have many
connections here either. Could you help me find some trustworthy people-both
men and women?"
"That''s no problem," Samantha said without hesitation. "Before Zachary left, he
gave me a card and said if I ever needed protection, I should call that number.
She called right away, exined the situation, and the people on the other end
immediately offered to send people to pick Sierra up instead of her going to them.
"All done," Samantha said, hanging up. Then, she gently stroked Sierra''s hair.
"Sierra, I know Samuel is technically my son. But he hasn''t been in my life for so
long. I don''t feel that strong of a bond with him.
"If I had to choose between him and Sophia, I''d choose Sophia. And you''re my
daughter, too. Samuel is selfish to the core. I don''t want a son like that. I''d rather
have two kind, loving daughters.
"Take the guards and go. And if he so much asys a hand on you or says
anything cruel, you have to tell me. Your parents and I won''t let him get away with
it."
