CHAPTER 146: WELCOME TO THE HERO ACADEMY

Kai moved on to the next testing area, where he would fight against a monster. Since he was a tier-10 warrior, he would be facing an S-Rank monster. Many people stopped what they were doing to see how Kai would perform, hoping he would impress them even further.

Word had gotten around, and many students and professors made their way to the testing area to see the new applicant who was breaking records.

Although this normally wouldn’t have been allowed, the headmaster allowed it since he, too, was also curious about Kai.

"What’s with all these people? And why am I taking the test here?" Kai asked as he stepped into a large colosseum.

Since his test would be against S-Rank monsters, they needed enough space to have Kai and the monster fight, and the colosseum was the best place for that.

Rose answered Kai’s questions and directed him to the place where he would choose a monster to fight.

Among the options were a Manticore, a Chimera, a Hydra, and a Dragon.

"Please choose a monster." The instructor asked.

Kai found the hydra interesting, so he planned to choose that one, but then, a great idea came into his head.

Instead of choosing one, he chose all.

Before the instructor could even stop him, Kai pulled every lever that connected to the cage each monster was kept in, and the four of them charged at Kai.

"What the hell?"

"Is he insane!"

"Instructors! Aid me!" The headmaster shouted, getting ready to fight.

"We have to remove the barrier first!"

"How long will that take?"

"Two minutes!"

While everyone started panicking, including the two instructors in charge of making sure nothing went wrong, Kai simply walked passed the instructors and held out a finger.

"Wait! Applicant Kai! It’s dangerous!"

He didn’t listen to them and pushed them away with his mana.

Then, with a smirk on his face, he swiped his finger across the air horizontally, and space split in two. In that same moment, all of the monsters shifted alongside the space, then were sliced in half and died instantly.

Everything happened in less than 10 seconds.

"That was fun." Kai blew his finger as if it were steaming and turned around to look at the instructors.

Silence

No one made a single sound or moved an inch. They were in shock.

Not only did Kai use space magic, one of the rarest types of magic to have, but he also killed four S-Rank monsters instantly with one finger.

"Y’all gonna announce something or are you just going to sit there with your mouths open?"

"Join my club!"

"No! Join my club instead!"

"Hey, I’m the head of the modeling club, wanna join?"

"With your skill, you’ll definitely be in the top class!"

"Choose me as your teacher!"

"No! I’ll be your teacher!"

Hundreds of people flocked to Kai to get him to join their club, class, or simply have him around them.

He was a walking and talking meal ticket, and everyone wanted a piece of him. They knew that if they were able to form a relationship with him, they would move up in the ranks, or whatever social construct there was.

Kai, on the other hand, was not too impressed by this. In fact, he found it extremely annoying. This is a part of the reason why he didn’t care to be the hero and didn’t plan on being it.

Sure, he said that he wanted to be fully revealed to the world after ’graduating’ from the academy, but in truth, he planned on making the nuns at the church go crazy for his dick, kill the demon king for fun, then move on to the next continent after tossing the hero’s sword to the side.

"Move." He demanded, his voice radiating with power.

Everyone moved to the side, allowing Kai to move without them all yanking his shirt or trying to steal his hair.

He approached Rose and asked her to lead him out of the building, which she happily accepted. But before he would leave the colosseum, a woman around his age approached him.

"I like strong guys like you. Here, join my club, you won’t regret it." She didn’t ask if he wanted to, nor did she introduce herself. She just handed him a card and put on a smug expression.

’Heh, you lower people think that you can get your hands on someone like this? Hell no. He belongs to me!’ She thought to herself.

"Nooo!"

"She got to him first!"

"There’s no way we’ll be able to get him to join us now."

"She always comes and steals the talented ones."

"No way I’m backing down!"

Kai looked at the card, frowned, and tossed it to the side. He didn’t even stop to speak with her and continued walking as if they had never met.

"W-What?" The girl turned around, shock on her face as she watched Kai walk away. "D-Did he just turn me down?!" She asked, anger filling her voice.

"Holy shit! He just turned her down!"

"Did you see her face? Ha, that was great!"

"He probably doesn’t know who she is, to be honest."

’That’s right! He most likely doesn’t know who I am. Fine, I’ll let this slide for now. Once he comes back, I’ll properly introduce myself, make him join my club, and force an apology out of him. Then, I’ll ask Daddy to make him my fiancé. Only I can have someone as talented as him.’ She smirked and then walked away.

Before Kai left the school, Rose told him that he would start on the following weekday, and the rest of the information he needed would be told to him when he arrived at school.

He thanked her, then went back home.

Upon entering his house, he sensed mana fluxuations coming from the basement, so he went to check it out. There, he saw Vanessa and Gwen going at it to see who was the better mage.

Of course, it was Gwen. In fact, it wasn’t even a competition. Because of her experience and Kai helping her become stronger, Gwen greatly outpaced Vanessa and was embarrassing her.

Then, he saw that they weren’t fighting, but training.

"Hey, girls." He called out to them, interrupting their training session.
