The Hero of Hypnosis
Chapter 350: Dunross Town
CHAPTER 350: DUNROSS TOWN
"Where do I begin? But please, have a seat and eat some food." Carlem offered.
They all obliged and sat down.
"Well, if you really are travelers from another continent, then there are some things you need to be aware of. The first one is that this town is called Dunross. It would be weird if you were walking around not knowing what this place was called."
"Oh, that’s great. I was gonna call it Sunspot." That was Kai’s attempt at a joke because this continent was the land of the son.
"That’s the name of one of the largest cities here."
"Wow."
"Anyway. Recently, a little over a month ago, the king and queen were overthrown by one of the Solar Plexes, a title given to the ten strongest people on the continent. However, this one, he was stronger than before, way stronger. And he wasn’t alone."
"Let me guess, demons," Kai remembered that the demon king was also corrupted by Progenitor decay.
Carlem nodded. "Correct. The new king, Flexom, is working with demons to establish his control over the continent, and those guards from earlier are in his pocket."
"I see." Kai thought about his next move. He had no interest in exploring the land as he had on the previous two continents. However, he would help the people here reclaim their home, and if that required travel, he was on board with that. Also, he could establish his harem here.
"You said the king and queen were overthrown, right. Where are they now?" Gwen asked
"Unfortunately, they are dead, as well as most of their children. Thankfully, the youngest two managed to escape in time and are currently in hiding."
"Why aren’t you guys fighting back?"
"Most people aren’t strong enough or are scared. The other 9 Solar Plexes were killed trying to take back the throne, so if the strongest in the nation couldn’t win, then no one else can. So, everyone capable of fighting just accepted the new leader and entered his pockets. I did hear that there is a resistance, though."
Kai perked up. "A resistance? That’s a start. Do you know where they are?"
Carlem shook his head. "We don’t even know if the resistance is real."
Tamra wondered why Kai and the others were trying to learn about their land. "Are you all trying to save us?"
Kai shrugged. "Pretty much. Rauna contacted Aquaphina, who then contacted Gracia, who then contacted me to ask for help."
The family of four visibly tensed when Kai said their goddess’s name so casually. It was disrespectful.
"I know you’re new here, but please show respect to our goddess." Tamra pleaded.
"Kai’s a demigod." Karumi blurted out, transforming into a wolf so she could rest on Kai’s neck, to the annoyance of Amaya.
"W-What?! A demigod?!" Once again, the family tensed.
"No! Karumi, don’t tell them that!" Kai rewound time. Because Kai’s power was
"I know you’re new here, but please show respect to our goddess." Tamra pleaded.
"My apologies. It’s just that Aquaphina and Gracia allow me to talk to them casually." Kai explained.
"Who are those two people?" Temera wondered.
"The two of them are goddesses of the two continents I’ve been to."
Silence. It was understandable, though. However, if what Kai was saying was true, this meant that he had the respect of two gods and their own goddess asked him for help in their crisis. This elevated Kai’s status in everyone’s eyes.
"Carlem. You should be thankful they didn’t kill you! No, it would be understandable if they did! You should be grateful that you didn’t harm them! Otherwise, our goddess would have punished our whole family!" Tamra was slightly terrified of Kai’s standing with the goddesses. She didn’t know if what he said was true, but she thought believing was better than making the wrong move.
"I-I’m sorry."
The twins saw Kai as a goldmine of information and thought he was extremely attractive.
"How strong are you?" Temara wondered. She had a smirk on her face that told everyone that she was interested in his strength.
"I could take over a continent by myself." Kai thought that was enough for them to understand how powerful he was. And he was lowballing himself.
"W-Whoa!"
"W-Well. I hope you enjoyed dinner. If you have any more questions, don’t hesitate to ask them. I’ll show you all to your rooms." Carlem got up.
"We sleep in one room," Kyana spoke.
"V-Very well." He nodded.
---
"So, what are you thinking?"
Night had come, and everyone was in bed. Kai’s girls were spread out around him, and he asked them about their opinions of this place and what they should do. He also had to make the bed bigger, but that wasn’t an issue.
"I know you like your adventure, so I think our best course of action is to find this resistance first." Gwen, being with Kai the longest, knew how he thought and would want to go about doing things.
"You know me well." He gave her a kiss.
"We could just storm the palace and forcefully reclaim the throne!" Amaya was all about action and simply wanted to fight.
Sasha was against Amaya’s idea. "That’s boring. How about we find a temple? You need to speak with the goddess, right, Kai?"
"I’m with Sasha." Kyana voiced her opinion.
"Same." Nadya nodded.
"How about we find a temple so Kai can meet with the goddess, then get a message from her to deliver to the resistance so they can accept us, and then help them reclaim their home?"
That was probably the smartest thing Karumi has ever said in her time being in their group.
"I like that idea. We’ll go with that." Kai gave her a kiss for her great idea.
"Yes! Now let’s make babies!"
"Some other time." He blew out the candle and went to sleep with everyone; however, he had a clone roaming the city to find out more about this place.
The clone walked around the town with a completely different outfit, one that had a hood, and he followed the guards to their quarters when they changed shifts.
There was an entire building dedicated to the guards that had housing, dining, and work areas. There was even a lounge where the guards would drink and play what looked to be dice and cards.
