CHAPTER 413: CANDY LAND?

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-OOOOOOOOOOOOOOF!" Kai landed on something soft and squishy, bouncing off it to land on something else that was soft and squishy all the way until he landed on the ground face-first.

"Ow. What the hell did I land on? It was so soft. Maybe I should make a bed out of it." Getting up, Kai looked at what he had fallen on only to be blinded by how bright everything was.

"Argh! My eyes!" While it was daytime in the demon world, the light from the sun wasn’t what blinded him.

"Why is everything so colourful? So much yellow! That’s not even a cool color." When Kai rubbed his eyes, clearing his vision, he knew that he was in the wrong world because the place didn’t look dead enough to be the demon world.

"What in the Wizard of Oz? Where the fuck am I?" Kai looked around to see yellow brick roads, giant mushrooms, cotton candy the size of boulders, and a lot more freaky shit that shouldn’t be in a place known as the ’demon world’.

"Ahh, you’re in the demon world," Leo said as he appeared next to Kai.

"What? This is the demon world? Where is the death? Where’s the demonic energy? Where are the demons?" Kai felt like he was being pranked.

"What do you mean? Do you not see those demons running around here?"

Kai looked around at the normal-looking animals that roamed the world. Sure, some of them were a bit weird, like squirrels that could fly because of their big ears, or deer that had eight legs instead of 4. But that was pretty normal to Kai at this point.

He wanted to see those vicious creatures that he killed back on Sarkylla, Eridani, and Astalith. Not these somewhat normal-looking creatures.

"No, man. I don’t see any demons running around." Kai responded.

"Well, that’s normal. The demon world is a reflection of yourself. If you’re a happy-go-lucky guy, then the demon world will reflect that."

"Really?"

"No, you fucking dumbass. Go up to that fucking squirrel and see how dangerous this world is."

Kai wanted to knock Leo out, but he didn’t want to break his arm, so he walked over to the squirrel instead.

"Hey, little guy, wanna get pets?"

The squirrel looked at Kai with a confused expression, then leapt onto his stretched-out arm, crawling up to his shoulder.

"Haha! Leo, look! It’s so cute!"

"Is it now?"

"Yeah! Look!"

"I think you should look instead."

"Huh? What do you mean?" Kai looked at his arm and saw the squirrel’s mouth open as wide as a hippo’s, razor-sharp teeth all over the inside of its mouth.

"WHAT THE FUCKKKKK!" He punched the squirrel off his shoulder before it could chomp down on his head.

"Told ya."

SQUEEK SQUEEK

Hundreds of squirrels gathered around the squirrel Kai punched, then ran after him as they saw the demigod as their dinner.

"Ahh! Stay back!" He blasted all of them away, killing most of the vile creatures. The others got scared and flew away.

"See. Demon world. And that was just a squirrel." Leo pointed out.

"Okay, okay. I believe you, jeez. But just answer me this."

"Shoot."

"Is that a fucking lollipop?"

---

Truth be told, Kai had no idea where he was going. He was simply flying around until he spotted something that looked interesting.

A bit ago, he saw a huge lake of dark yellow water. It looked like pee, and he made some jokes about it, but it turned out that the water was honey. Of course, Kai had to try some, but the locals didn’t like that.

Emerging from underneath the honey lake was a bear as tall as a mountain that tried to kill Kai. When it slammed its paw on him, Kai went right through it. Shout of to divine durability and strength.

The bear got scared and then ran away, only to bring back its entire family, all as tall as mountains.

Kai didn’t even know how they all could fit inside the lake.

After that, he saw the largest mango he had ever seen on one massive tree. Leo warned him not to touch it, but what kid listens to their parent?

Kai touched it, instantly regretting his decision. The mango turned into a swarm of demonic hornets that chased him around, trying to sting him to death. But that wasn’t all. The tree was also one massive hornet.

It was so disgusting that Kai vaporised the insects without hesitation. Fuck the ecosystem.

"Fuck, man. I hate this place already. Maybe it’s not worth helping Morrigan." It had only been around an hour or two, and Kai was already tired of the place.

He definitely didn’t want the demons taking over the overworld. If so, he’d have to deal with this bullshit all the time.

Leo patted his back. "You’ll get used to it. There are some worlds that are worse than this."

"I don’t know if I want to get used to this."

Kai and Leo kept flying around, trying to find some sort of civilisation. Even though Kai was a demigod, his senses were still wonky since he was in a new dimension.

He was slowly adjusting, but his internal system update was sure taking its time. Not even flying higher made his download speed better.

"Wait, I think I see something! It’s...PEOPLE!" Kai zoomed down to the spot where he saw people gathered around, hoping they could take him to Morrigan.

"Hello, demon world people." Kai greeted them.

"Who are you? Where did you come from?!" All of the demons quickly armed themselves and prepared to attack just in case.

"It’s okay, I’m not your enemy, maybe. It depends on who you serve, I guess." Thankfully, these demons looked like the ones Kai was used to.

"I need to find a woman named Morrigan. She told me to meet with her, but she never gave me instructions on where to find her."

The demons looked at each other, then back at Kai.

"What’s your name?"

"Kai."

"Oh shoot, he’s the monkey that’s going to help us out."

Kai’s eye twitched. "Monkey?"
