CHAPTER 34: THREE HEARTS ON THE FLOOR

URIEL

I stopped, turning to the guards as my lips raised at the edges. It was unlike Shawn’s cold smile. It was cruel, sadistic with my head already filled up with scenes of the guards begging at my feet.

"Uriel, are you crazy? We need to leave!"

Their worried voices resounded in my head, as they pulled on the bonds between us.

But then I sneered, letting Ethan and Shawn pull away from the mansion while the guards surrounded me.

"Why are we holding back?" I chuckled. "We can snap their heads off in the blink of an eye."

"So what if the Alpha knows we have our wolves? He wouldn’t dare do anything to us. If you both want to leave, it’s fine. But I will make sure to get blood on my hands today."

The thrill that coursed through me as my claws lengthened and my canines grew made me shiver a bit.

I wasn’t sure if it was excitement, or the fear my brothers had which I could feel.

And at the corner of my eyes, I saw the Alpha’s face. He was intrigued, anticipating what would happen. He had probably connected the dots in his mind and there was no need to hide.

His voice dropped, as he pushed Aria out of the way, "Kill them."

That was his last attempt to force our wolves out, and I took it in the blink of an eye.

My arm morphed, bones cracking with fur growing up to my arm. The next second, I swiped my claws across the faces of the guards.

Blood spurted out and at that moment of distraction, with the shock written all over their faces, I went for their hearts.

One. Two. Three.

Three fucking hearts lay on the floor, beating wildly and the bodies fell to the floor, with blood spurting out like a pump.

It was a horrifying sight, one that made the guards and even the Alpha go quiet.

However, I laughed. The sound bounced off the walls, curling into the hearts of the guards.

"Come at me..." I wiggled my fingers at them.

As my eyes scoured them all, seven guards were remaining and at the same time, my brothers rushed in, taking on more than two guards at once.

Before long, we had blood pooling all over the floor with the last guard, still fighting for his life.

But at that moment, the Alpha snapped. He got a long and thick silver chain in his hands, and the next second, he swung it toward Shawn.

My body spun toward him, and in the blink of an eye, I had the chain wrapped around my leg instead. The burn was intense, my skin sizzling like hot saucers.

The pain was worse than what we had the last time. This time, my wolf was in a full-blown attack and out in the open. The Alpha got me, fair and square.

"You bastards!" He laughed.

He was too happy, too loud, and as he pulled on the chain, my body fell to the floor with a loud thud and was dragged across the floor before Shawn and Ethan could get close.

"You belong to me. I always knew you boys were one of a kind. A different breed born from my loins. Now, you can make your father proud."

"Isn’t that good?"

My brows creased when I witnessed the raw excitement on his face as he held me at his feet.

He wasn’t the father who would get all brutal over his sons. We thought he would torture us to death, when he found out about our wolves. But he seemed to be even more excited.

I realized there must be something brewing in his head. I hated the way he looked at me like I was some sort of possession and I wanted to gouge his eyes out.

"You are mine—"

Slash!

My claws moved before he could dodge, swiping across his eyes. I felt that light burst, and the sinking feeling that came from my claws digging into his right eye.

I grinned, as he staggered, letting go of the chain for a moment.

"You are so ugly." The disgust on my face was immense when I saw him clutching at his eyes for dear life.

But when he saw me move away, he hurried for the chains again. To lock me down like an overpriced pet.

However, Ethan and Shawn came to the rescue. Their feet moved, slamming into the Alpha’s belly and the force was so great, he flew up in the air and landed on the wall.

Bang!

The wall cracked, and the doors rattled. I wanted to run my claws in his chest but the Alpha’s death was a far reach for us.

A war could break out from his death and we wouldn’t be able to contain it.

And as his body fell to the floor, they pulled me up and straight to the door.

However, Aria was right behind us, eyes widened and face still pale from fear. She lay within the blood, crawling toward us.

For the first time, I turned to look at her straight in the eye while I crouched before her.

"Aria..." I held her chin while my lips curled slightly. "Your fate is in the hands of the Alpha now."

"Whether you die or not, that’s none of our business."

But then, she clutched my hand, "What...what are you saying?"

"You all came for me, right?"

"You?" I chuckled, wiggling my fingers at her. "You overestimate yourself, bitch."

"It was never you all along."

"Hey...we need to leave!"

Ethan pulled me up, and soon, we were out of there and scouring our way through the Pack. We watched the guards run back to the mansion, as they had received a signal from the Alpha to return.

We reached Davina’s house, and went through the already open door and ransacked every single room.

Ethan came out, running his hands through his hair wet with blood.

"I can’t find her."

The night sky had fallen and it was devoid of stars. The most gloomy night I had ever seen with the moon tucking itself beneath the dark clouds.

At that moment, I felt a storm coming.
