CHAPTER 57: VENOM THAT COULD KILL

DAVINA

"Aria?" I gasped, as my eyes blurred at the edges. "What...what are you doing here?"

She glared at me, with eyes dripping with venom, "Did you think you would never see me again, after you left me to die? You think you won?"

"No way, Davina. I will pay you back in your own coin."

I was immensely confused as I glanced at the brothers, "I... I..."

"Class, let’s begin." A teacher walked into the class and Aria quickly helped Nate up to another chair while I settled into my assigned seat.

But I was in turmoil as I glanced at the brothers again. Their eyes were narrowed on Aria who didn’t seem to care about them as her attention was on Nate. But I knew something was fishy.

"She doesn’t look all that pleasant in the face." Seraphine’s voice spilled into my mind. "Why did you let her bully you all these years?"

"She is not even all that."

My wolf would outrightly throw up in Aria’s face if she could. All those bullying years ago would have stopped in a minute if Seraphine had been here.

However, this was far from all that now. There was something else in Aria’s eyes I had never witnessed before. Venom that could kill with reckless abandon.

"Her presence unsettles me..." I whispered.

"Why? Do you think she is going to bully you again?"

"No..." I glanced around the class and even though everyone seemed to be listening to the teacher, their eyes glanced at me and the brothers for a few seconds.

"She has successfully turned everyone here against us. Do you think she knew we were coming?"

Darius brought us here, and I wondered if this could also be an indication that he was working against us.

I wondered if I had to accept the Alpha’s proposal to have an edge over Darius and if he was working with Diego, it would be such a hassle to deal with.

And as soon as the class ended, I watched the brothers stand up to their feet. Ethan stretched his hand toward me, and I took and shortly, we filed out of the class.

But for a split second, I felt a sharp gaze on me as it was boring into my skin and tearing me apart inside.

My head whipped in the direction and it was Aria. She didn’t even flinch when I turned to look at her and in that moment, I felt a chill down my spine.

A few minutes later, the brothers and I found a spot to settle in. My back hit the wall, with my fingers rubbing on my temple.

Shawn stood guard, watching for any intruder while Uriel and Ethan stood before me.

"Do you think I am seeing things? It’s not her, right?"

"We hope we are too..." Uriel let out a small sigh. "But she is Aria and there is something really different about her."

My eyes widened, "You noticed that too?"

"We all did."

I sighed, brows creased, "What do we do now? We need to find out why she is here."

Shawn finally glanced at me, with his jaw clenched, "It’s very obvious there is something going on."

"We left her fate in the Alpha’s hands but he let her go? That’s unbelievable."

"Right?" My brows arched. "That madman would have punished her so badly!"

"So, that brings us to our conclusion, Vina," Ethan spoke up. "She is definitely working with the Alpha and that scar on her face..."

"That scar could be her punishment and it carries her resentment toward you and us. You have to be careful, baby."

He held my chin, softly with eyes warped with worry.

"I will..." I nodded. "However, we are still so skeptical about Darius, and the Alpha. And now, this?"

"I can’t deal, anymore..." I whined as I slipped to the floor.

"Listen to me..." Shawn called us up and whispered a few words in our ears. My face shone with excitement, eyes going dim with mischief as I took in every word.

I turned to Uriel, "Can you do it?"

"Of course..." His lips curled, his smile like a dagger ready to slit one’s throat.

We left the spot, with Uriel taking a detour as we went straight back to the class. There were just a few students left in the class but it was just as we expected. Hostility and wicked eyes on us.

And then my seat had turned colorful in just the time we had been away. Several obscene words, insults, that had been said to me back at my former school were now plastered all over my spot.

"Do you like those?" Aria’s voice resounded behind me. I turned sharply to her, with my eyes narrowed.

"Did you do all these?"

"Not me..." She shrugged. "Everyone who supports me, did that. They don’t want to see your face. Are you sure you want to stay back at this school, Davina?"

"Why not?" I sneered. "Are you going to send me away?"

"Oh no..." She chuckled. "But you will run, when everyone...I mean, everyone realizes who the fuck you are."

"You know I found out your good-for-nothing mother is married to the Alpha. What will everyone say when they find out you have been fucking your stepbrothers?"

My fists clenched, as my face burned. I was furious. I wasn’t embarrassed. The audacity of her to threaten me.

"What will happen if all the lies you have told are revealed?" I fired back. "What will they say when they realize you are in fact the bully, not me?"

I closed in on her, "I have everything documented, Aria. Every single thing you did to me. Do not think you are going to get away from this."

"I will find out your agenda here. If you want to ruin me, you have to think twice!"

"Oh really?" Her brows raised.

"Then what will you say about this?" She whipped out her phone and a video was already playing.

I watched a video of the brothers beating up Zayne, leaving him lifeless on the floor. My brows jumped in fear, and shock.

I never knew something like that happened!

"If this video gets released, Davina. What do you think will happen to your lovers?"

I reached for the phone, but Shawn was faster. He grabbed the device out of her hands, and even though she didn’t want to release it, he took it and flung it straight to Ethan.

"What the hell do you think you are doing?" He growled in her face, and in his eyes, his wolf was at the edge.

For a split second, I saw the fear in her eyes but it was replaced by a grin that made those eyes thin.

"Are you scared now, Shawn? The cold bastard is scared."

"Are you scared that everyone is going to know you are a murderer? And you, Ethan?"

Ethan placed his hands on his waist, as his lips curled. He wasn’t even fazed by her threat.

"Are you annoyed?"

"What?" She gasped.

"Are you annoyed we stood you up? Are you doing this because you failed to have us as your lovers? You think you stood a chance?"

"Shut it!" She gritted her teeth. "I am fucking beautiful and everyone wants me!"

Her shoulders raised slightly, "I do have a chance and it’s all your fault you stood me up. This wouldn’t be happening if you all decided to be mine according to our deal!"

"Oh..." Shawn raised his brows. "Are you saying you are tarnishing our reputation because you couldn’t get us to like you?"

"Huh?" She gasped, eyes darting. "What are you saying?"

"Nothing..." Ethan shrugged. "We never knew we would see you again but you have spread false rumors about Davina, and us."

"The least we could do now is to make things clear with you." Shawn closed in on her, almost taking her breath away.

Slowly, her back hit the wall, with her gaze all on him. She was enthralled for a moment, and he made his move.

"We shouldn’t have left you that way, Aria. We apologize for standing you up."

"What are you going to do?" She sneered, as her gaze darted. "Find your way back to me? You boys are better off with me than that bitch, Davina."

"You think so?"

"I know so..." Her lips pursed, with a deep look in her eyes as if she knew something more. "She will only ruin you all."

Shawn glanced at me, and I winked back at him.

Our mission had been done and at that moment, Nate stepped into the class, with his eyes like a raging wolf.

As soon as Shawn stepped aside, he hurled toward his girlfriend.

"You lied to me?"

"Nate..." Aria gasped, as confusion set in. "What are you doing here? You should be at the clinic."

She tried to touch him but he slapped her fingers away from him with so much strength. Her body staggered back to the wall, as her mouth opened and closed like a fish in water.

The class started to get crowded too, as the students filed back in with their phones in hand.

"Tell me, Aria. Everything you said to me, to us, is it a lie?"
