CHAPTER 194: THE EMERGENCE OF THE SEA MONSTER AND THE BATTLE!

Boom!

An explosion suddenly erupted from beneath the ship, followed by a violent jolt that shook everyone on board.

Rafine staggered from side to side but quickly grabbed the ship’s railing to steady herself.

The shaking, however, was relentless, sending several soldiers tumbling to the deck, unprepared for the force.

"What’s going on?" she asked, her voice trembling as she glanced around.

Beside her, Nolan remained calm, showing not the slightest hint of panic.

He didn’t even hold onto the railing. His arms were folded across his chest, as if the shaking affected him not at all. He turned toward the sea below, his gaze sharp and piercing.

"The monster’s coming," he muttered softly, yet his words carried clearly to Rafine nearby.

Rafine froze, stunned, and before she could react, a monstrous figure burst from the ocean depths.

Splash!

Seawater sprayed in every direction, drenching everyone nearby. Rafine wiped her face and hurriedly looked up.

What came into view was a massive, black, serpent-like creature. Tens of meters long, it exuded pure terror.

Its body was covered in black scales, and two sharp horns jutted from the top of its head.

Its eyes were large and sharp, with red vertical pupils. Its gaze was cold and piercing, as if it could pierce the soul of anyone who met it.

"The monster really appeared!" Rafine exclaimed loudly.

Her heart raced, and her body stiffened. Fear surged through her, leaving her legs weak and unsteady.

Suddenly, Nolan tapped her left shoulder, and miraculously, she felt her strength return.

"Hah... hah... hah..." Her breath came in short, uneven gasps as cold sweat trickled down her back.

She looked at Nolan with gratitude.

"Thank you, Your Highness," she said weakly.

Nolan gave a small nod and said casually, "If you’re scared, go back to your room. It would be troublesome if you fainted, and we’d have to carry you inside."

This warship had countless rooms—perhaps even hundreds. This wasn’t surprising, considering how many crew members the ship could carry.

Among them were two special rooms, usually reserved for the captain or other important figures.

Coincidentally, Ruthark had assigned those rooms to them while they awaited the sea monster’s arrival.

Hearing that, Rafine braced herself and shook her head firmly.

"No, that’s impossible!" she said resolutely. "I’ll stay on the ship until the monster is defeated!"

She had come this far, and there was no way she would let the opportunity she had waited for slip away.

Nolan wasn’t surprised by her answer. If Rafine had agreed to his suggestion, he might have doubted she was the same Rafine he knew.

Still nonchalant, he looked away. "Whatever. Just don’t trouble me."

Without waiting for her reply, Nolan stepped toward the soldiers on standby.

While the second ship had been shaken by the monster’s appearance, the first ship was no better.

On deck, Elina clutched one of the masts to keep her balance.

Seawater splashed in every direction, drenching her, but her white armor protected the dress beneath from getting wet.

The sea monster has finally appeared, she murmured, looking up.

The creature was enormous and terrifying. Although she had imagined it and read descriptions of it, seeing it in person felt entirely different.

"Everyone, move quickly!" Luvistar’s loud voice echoed through the ship. "Some of you, go to the command room to assist the helmsman; others, adjust the sails. The rest, take your positions at the cannons and wait for the order to fire. Hurry!"

"Yes!" the soldiers shouted and sprang into action.

Luvistar’s eyes followed the gigantic figure.

"It’s truly massive," he muttered.

According to the reports he had received, the monster was around a hundred meters long. But seeing it in person, he judged it to be even larger—perhaps a hundred and fifty, maybe even two hundred meters in length.

"General, all cannons are ready!" one soldier reported respectfully.

"Good!" Luvistar nodded, his eyes sharpening. "Now, attack!"

"Attack!" the soldiers shouted in unison.

They all pulled the ropes at the back of the cannons. Instantly, purple light flared from the muzzles, and forty energy balls shot out.

Forty shots from the first ship, followed by forty from the second, struck the monster simultaneously.

Boom!

Boom!

The explosions were deafening, the shockwaves carrying all the way to the port of Redhoven.

"Keep going! Load more Lucite into the cannons and fire!" Luvistar bellowed.

Each cannon measured about two meters in diameter and required three soldiers to operate at full power. At least one hundred twenty soldiers were manning all the cannons.

Boom!

The cannons fired again, each blast striking the monster with deadly precision.

Roar!

The creature let out a ferocious roar, its massive body writhing as the strikes shattered its thick scales. Some shots pierced deep, sending black-and-red blood gushing from its wounds.

Finally, its enormous body was thrown back and sank into the ocean.

The sight left everyone on the ships utterly stunned.

"Did we make it?" One of them asked hopefully.

They waited for about two minutes, but the monster showed no sign of returning.

It seemed the creature was completely dead.

"Hahaha! We did it!"

"Yeah! The monster is finally dead! Hahaha! That was easier than I thought!"

"You were right! I expected trouble, but I was wrong!"

The soldiers cheered, some even shedding tears of joy.

On the second ship, Ruthark remained alert. Although the monster was no longer in sight, he dared not assume it was truly dead.

Ten minutes passed before he could finally relax.

"We did it," he muttered with a sigh of relief, his gaze lingering on the soldiers with quiet happiness.

Meanwhile, Rafine had remained still, unmoved, until the soldiers’ cheers reached her.

"Did we make it?" she asked, her voice trembling.

She stepped onto the ship’s railing and looked down, checking for herself. The monster was gone—it was truly dead.

But suddenly, Nolan shook his head nearby and said coldly, "No, you’re wrong. The monster is not dead."

Rafine’s eyes widened in shock. She stared at Nolan, trying to tell if he was joking—but his expression was completely serious.

"How did you—" she began, but before she could finish, a black shadow rose from the depths of the sea.

Splash!

The sea monster erupted from the water, spraying seawater in every direction.

Without giving them a chance to react, its massive body slammed into the second ship with devastating force.

Boom!

Malverna’s magic barrier activated just in time, protecting the ship from total destruction—but the impact still rocked it violently.

The deck pitched, and everyone lost their balance, tumbling to the ground.

Rafine was thrown forward and backward uncontrollably. Her waist slammed against the ship’s railing, spun her around, and flung her over the side.

Her eyes widened in horror as she screamed, "No!!!"
