The Hidden Extra: The Lazy Prince Refuses to Ascend The Throne
Chapter 326: A Mysterious Cave Full of Treasure
CHAPTER 326: A MYSTERIOUS CAVE FULL OF TREASURE
Two hundred kilometers from the city of Ostravia lies a beautiful open beach.
From here, the vast expanse of the sea is clearly visible. In the past, this place was one of the busiest ports in the eastern region.
However, a devastating natural disaster destroyed the port, claiming hundreds of lives.
Since then, the port has been officially closed and relocated about fifty kilometers to the north. The once-bustling port is now abandoned, yet its beauty remains captivating.
At that moment, under the bright moonlight, two figures emerged from the shadows.
They were the Singularity of Chaos and Zarak. As soon as they appeared, a strong gust of wind greeted them.
"Hiks! It’s so cold!" Zarak shivered as he huddled his body.
Whoosh!
Suddenly, a stream of purple light appeared behind him, bringing a gentle warmth that dispelled the cold.
He turned and smiled brightly. "Thank you, Singularity of Chaos."
The masked man simply nodded. "Now show me where that place is."
Zarak didn’t dare argue and immediately led the way, relying on his memory. He had once gone there with his grandfather.
But at that time, he was only ten years old, and now he had almost forgotten the exact direction. Moreover, the natural disaster had destroyed the port, completely changing the landscape from what he remembered.
Fortunately, a few traces left by his grandfather still remained, allowing him to find the place without much difficulty.
"Over there, Singularity of Chaos!"
Zarak pointed to a small cave that blended into the coral rocks, about five hundred meters from where they stood.
The Singularity of Chaos patted Zarak on the shoulder, and in an instant, the two vanished—reappearing at the mouth of the cave in the blink of an eye.
Zarak stepped inside, followed closely by the Singularity of Chaos.
The cave was small—only two and a half meters high and three meters wide. On either side, dry coral reefs and fish carcasses suggested that the cave had only recently been submerged under the sea.
Despite its narrow size, the cave stretched far ahead. Five minutes later, they arrived before a two-and-a-half-meter-high gate.
The gate was adorned with patterns of clouds and lightning, along with other ancient drawings.
Ancient drawings? What era does this gate belong to? the Singularity of Chaos asked, narrowing his eyes.
He had never seen markings like these before. From the aura they emitted, they seemed to be relics from a long-forgotten age.
While he pondered, Zarak moved to the right side of the gate, his face alight with excitement.
Worn-out buttons, covered with ancient symbols that were hard to decipher, lined the gate.
Zarak, however, had no trouble—his grandfather had taught him how to combine the symbols to open it.
Four minutes later, the gate shook violently. In the next moment, it swung open, revealing an astonishing sight—an immense treasure.
Piles of gold coins, golden cups, and various pieces of jewelry formed a small mountain. On both sides, gold chests were neatly arranged, as if waiting to be opened.
There were also suits of armor, swords, spears, and other weapons, all still sturdy and well-preserved. At a glance, it was clear that everything was made from high-quality, extremely valuable materials.
"This..." The Singularity of Chaos was stunned. "There really is treasure here!"
At first, he had doubted Zarak’s words, but it turned out the fat man had been telling the truth.
Zarak was equally astonished. As far as he could remember, the treasure here had never been this abundant.
Could I be mistaken? He muttered to himself, both confused and amazed.
If his memory was right, there shouldn’t have been gold chests along the sides, nor piles of coins this large.
Wait... His eyes widened. Don’t tell me... All of this belongs to Grandfather!?
His grandfather was the one who discovered this place, so it was possible that the treasures Zarak remembered not being there were his, stored here for safekeeping.
The moment Zarak realized this, his excitement surged. His grandfather hadn’t vanished in vain—he had left behind an extraordinary inheritance.
"Come on in," the indifferent voice of the Singularity of Chaos came from behind him.
Zarak nodded and walked inside with enthusiastic steps.
Everywhere they looked, there was gold. The sight was so overwhelming that Zarak felt his body go limp.
But he couldn’t be greedy. After all, by agreement he would give everything to the Singularity of Chaos.
Turning to face him, Zarak smiled broadly. "What do you think, Singularity of Chaos? I didn’t lie to you, did I?"
The Singularity of Chaos nodded slowly. "Yes, you’re not lying. As agreed—I will grant your wish."
Zarak’s excitement overflowed. Without hesitation he said, "Singularity of Chaos, I want you to help me in the battle for the throne and avenge my brothers!"
"Oh?" The Singularity of Chaos sounded a little surprised, as if he hadn’t expected that request. "Don’t you know I am neutral and do not interfere? That was my promise to your father, the emperor."
"I know." Zarak crossed his arms behind his back. "But as long as you declare your support, that will be more than enough. You don’t need to intervene directly."
Zarak smiled broadly. "You have to help me take revenge on the princes—and on Elina Lorian too!"
Zarak was aware the Singularity of Chaos protected Elina, but seeing this enormous pile of treasure, he was sure even someone as powerful as the Singularity of Chaos could be tempted.
Furthermore, there was no special bond between the Singularity of Chaos and Elina, so Zarak was confident the masked man would accept his offer.
But suddenly...
"Hahaha!" The Singularity of Chaos laughed loudly, his hand covering half of his mask as he shook his head, clearly amused by the request.
"Your request is too much. I have sworn to protect Elina Lorian and will not interfere in the battle for the throne. Ask for something else."
He waved his right hand, signaling Zarak to reconsider.
But what else could Zarak ask for besides those two things?
With a stern expression, Zarak shook his head. "No, those are my requests. If you refuse, our agreement is off."
His face turned cold. There was something he hadn’t revealed to the Singularity of Chaos.
At the entrance of this cave were numerous ancient magic circles from an unknown era. Only the truly chosen could enter safely.
As it happened, his grandfather had been the owner of this cave, and Zarak, as his blood heir, could enter without danger.
For strangers, the moment they stepped inside, they would be destroyed. But Zarak had deactivated the mechanism for five minutes; now only one minute remained before it reactivated.
So the Singularity of Chaos would soon be vulnerable to the cave’s protective mechanism.
"Heh..." The Singularity of Chaos sneered. "You’re truly arrogant, Zarak Lorian. No wonder... No wonder you always lose to your siblings—especially Nolan Lorian."
