CHAPTER 19: CHAPTER 19: PHYSICAL EXAMINATION

"Keep what just happened confidential for now, don’t tell anyone," He Qi’an instructed Li He.

Li He nodded, "Understood, boss, I won’t say anything."

"Alright."

He Qi’an turned around and looked at Lin Xiaoyan, "Let’s go, to the hospital."

The sense of tension within Lin Xiaoyan rose again as she followed behind He Qi’an with heavy steps.

All the way, Lin Xiaoyan kept her head down, silent, contemplating various possibilities.

"We’re here, get out," He Qi’an said as he unbuckled the seatbelt.

Lin Xiaoyan snapped back to reality and looked outside the car; it was Sea City Central Hospital!!!

Suddenly, the car door beside her was opened, and He Qi’an stood outside, gently saying, "Come on down."

Lin Xiaoyan hurriedly got out of the car, eyeing the bustling hospital, feeling somewhat incredulous.

"Why is it here?"

He Qi’an turned his head to glance at Lin Xiaoyan, "Where else did you think it would be?"

"..."

"We’ve arrived; where are you?" He Qi’an sent a voice message.

"Ding-dong"

Soon, there was a reply.

He Qi’an glanced at his phone, tucked it into his pocket, and led Lin Xiaoyan into the hospital.

They stopped at the entrance of the ophthalmology department.

"Doctor Yang!" Lin Xiaoyan exclaimed, surprised to see the person inside.

Yang Lin had just finished a call and was astonished to see his cousin’s guest was Lin Xiaoyan. He gave a surprised look at his cousin.

"Xiaoyan, is that you?"

"What’s the situation?" Yang Lin asked He Qi’an.

He Qi’an pulled over a chair, motioning Lin Xiaoyan to sit down. Then he closed the door and sat down himself.

"Give her an eye exam first."

Yang Lin leaned back slightly, "There’s nothing wrong with her eyes; I examined them before."

"Not a regular exam, I mean something more in-depth!" He Qi’an clarified.

Yang Lin looked at Lin Xiaoyan, then at his cousin, furrowing his brows, "What do you mean?"

He stood up and walked to Lin Xiaoyan, "Come over and lie down here."

He glanced at He Qi’an, "Tell me, what’s going on with her?"

Lin Xiaoyan lay down, and Yang Lin started thoroughly examining her eyes with his tools.

"She said when people touch her, she can see what happens next," He Qi’an explained, watching Yang Lin conduct the exam.

Lin Xiaoyan quickly explained, "That’s not entirely true; there are people who touch me, and I don’t see anything. Plus, I only see images of bad things that might happen..."

"If I could see the future, I’d go buy a lottery ticket straight away. Who needs to toil away as a regular worker?" Lin Xiaoyan muttered softly.

Listening to Lin Xiaoyan’s words, Yang Lin and He Qi’an exchanged amused glances.

"Alright, you can get up now," Yang Lin extended a hand to help Lin Xiaoyan up.

"So, the medical chaos was because I touched you and you saw I was going to get hurt?" Yang Lin asked with a smile.

Lin Xiaoyan nodded, "Yes, I saw that man in the medical chaos harming your hand and arm."

The smile on Yang Lin’s face faded when he heard about his hand being injured, and he looked at Lin Xiaoyan again, sincerely thanking her.

"Thank you for bravely stepping in to help me back then. Otherwise, I might have had to say goodbye to my career as a doctor."

Yang Lin showed a bitter smile and extended his hand, "I now rely completely on these hands for a living. Thank you for saving them."

Lin Xiaoyan waved her hands repeatedly, "No need to thank me, Doctor Yang; you’ve thanked me many times already, and last night, you helped me."

He Qi’an stood aside, watching his cousin play the act, and closed his eyes.

"Alright, enough with the thanking. She still has other exams to run," He Qi’an interrupted them.

Yang Lin glared at He Qi’an, opened the door, and called, "Xiao Zhou."

The assistant who was nearby rushed over, "Director Yang."

"Take her for her exams; I’ve already arranged it."

"Okay, Director Yang."

Xiao Zhou looked at Lin Xiaoyan, "Please follow me."

Lin Xiaoyan bid farewell to Yang Lin and followed Xiao Zhou.

He Qi’an also followed. If Lin Xiaoyan truly possessed such an ability, then he needed to protect her. After all, he required her assistance for the things to come.
