CHAPTER 112: HOW TO STOP RHANE (I)

{Music Recommendation: You Have Been Loved ~ Sia}

"Lady Jenna,"

"Welcome Lady Jenna."

Jenna kept greeting and smiling at the maidens she met on her way to the dining. Now dressed up and looking neat, Jenna never felt much better.

And the cream of the crop was everyone loved her! Jenna loved it so much. It was as if meeting Rhane had changed the hearts of many, people no longer spoke about her in corners and they actually did love her.

Most of them offered help even before she could ask, and it wasn’t even up to a day since she arrived.

"The dining hall is over there, you’re on the right path, just keep it straight."

Jenna nodded along with the instructions, then continued on her way. By the time she got to the dining she had greeted half of the maidens in the house, and her jaw ached from laughing. She wanted to be nice and smile too, so even when she got tired she still squeezed a smile.

It felt great to be everyone’s favorite again. Jenna called it the Rhane’s charm. Once inside the dining, Jenna settled down for lunch. She noticed the table was long, but she was all alone. It didn’t matter, since she just arrived and didn’t know how things worked.

Picking up a plate, Jenna scooped the rice and the curry stew in healthy amounts. Wiping her spoon clean before she began eating. It took her a few minutes to finish what she had on her plate before she scooped another. This time she went with the soup and braised beef.

Jenna slurped the meal noisily, she covered her mouth shyly. Realizing there wasn’t anyone but her, she leaned in comfortably enjoying her meal.

"This is so good," Jenna groaned after helping herself with the meal. Standing up to grab the jar of water, Jenna heard a sound behind her and she turned. The door moved, but there was nobody there.

With a dismissive shrug Jenna grabbed the water and sat back down. She’d almost forgotten how good it felt to actually eat after a night of horror and screams.

Well-fed, neat and dressed. Jenna went back to her main worry. How to stop Rhane. The day didn’t look like it was helping at all, as it was already late in the afternoon. And she had no plan how to stop Rhane!

As slow as morning came, evening came even faster. Jenna tried to engage herself in things that would distract her throughout the day, but none worked. She’d tried to take a walk around the place, relax and do nothing. Her mind remained restless.

Now inside her room, she couldn’t stop herself from checking her window at intervals. A part of her wanted Rhane to come, but the other part didn’t. She didn’t want him to get into any more trouble.

It had been a miracle the council with her father listened to Kali. Having a tournament for a woman once besotted with another man. It didn’t always happen. And if Rhane should do little as slip, it’d give the council even more reason to punish him.

As night drew in, Jenna began to lose hope. There was no sign of Rhane or even a messenger bird.

"Maybe he isn’t coming," Jenna murmured, peeking through the window. It was already dark outside, the trees looked like giant angry humans. Jenna wondered why the councilmen built their meeting place in such a secluded place.

Leaving the window, Jenna now sat on the bed. Quietly staring at the wall, she couldn’t believe that just the other night she was caught up in a fight as a captive. Now, she was just sitting peacefully enjoying the night’s silence.

The events of the previous night flashed at the back of Jenna’s mind. Violence, screams and fragile ego clashing. One thing toppled all, Rhane’s strength when he held her.

Heat coursed within Jenna as she squirmed on her bed. Rolling her body on the bed, she thought of how Rhane had lifted her from the ground with one hand that pressed her breast.

"Jenna!" Jenna gasped her own name. She’d never been one to be so shameless but here she was.

And though she hadn’t thought of it then, Jenna remembered the anger in Rhane’s voice when she was running. If they weren’t standing in the middle of a crowd, Jenna wanted Rhane to pin her down with all that pent-up anger.

Moving her hand mindlessly on the bed, Jenna grabbed Rhane’s shirt that she had placed on her side. It made her feel like he was actually resting beside her. She sniffed the shirt again and exhaled.

She loved the raw scent of Rhane. It was everything she couldn’t explain. There were no words to describe how it made her feel except the pooling that now heated in between the meeting of her thighs.

Jenna thought of what their night would have been if foolish Gerald and their fathers didn’t show up. She had already accepted her feelings and was very ready to let Rhane take her. She felt the heat every time they were together, it was no point denying it anymore. Alas, all of that was cut short for them.

"Rot in hell Gerald," Jenna cursed, lifting her face from the shirt. She hated how the man would be her nightmare and still appear to ruin her paradise.

Jenna’s anger at Gerald didn’t last more than a second before it shifted to thinking about Rhane. Jenna turned to her side with Rhane’s shirt now trapped in between her legs. Her mind drifted to when Rhane whispered about taking her from behind while holding her as his captive.

"Uhm," a moan slipped from her lips. Jenna rubbed her thighs trying to suppress the need that arose from her core, but it only worsened it.

Picking a pillow from behind her, Jenna placed it in between her legs and squeezed, but her desire to be touched grew even more.

Deep in her thoughts, Jenna didn’t notice the shuffling movement that came from her window.

Frustrated and wailing in lust, Jenna kicked the pillow to the ground. She grabbed Rhane’s shirt using it to cover her face, while her fingers slipped into her flimsy underwear.

"I asked you to wait didn’t I?"

"Rhane!"
