The Last Gentleman
Chapter 689: 687: Fish Origin’s Demands
Dentist Jessica held the principal in her embrace, which seemed somewhat incongruous since the principal was a full head taller than her and noticeably more robust in figure.
Yet, she lifted him with ease, hesitating not to put him down and even maintaining the embrace as she explained the situation that had just unfolded.
"The permeation of a singular nightmare indicates that a real Deep Sea Patient has come, targeting you, sister. It must be related to the Star Means you’ve previously shown.
If we don’t find the intruder, once we fall asleep, we’ll be assaulted by nightmares."
Desline slowly moved her body, stepping out of the dentist’s embrace to stand on the ground, her feet touching the seawater no longer carried the biting cold of the nightmare.
"Thank you~ As long as the intruder has invaded my thoughts, they must have been contaminated with star particles, and we can immediately locate their exact position."
After expressing her gratitude, Desline’s expression turned grim, even showing a hint of killing intent. The day before, maintaining the spatial barrier around the entire cruise ship had left her considerably weakened, and that evening she had sent ten drops of Essence Blood to William, further exacerbating her weakness.
It was unfortunate timing for a Deep Sea Patient skilled in dream invasion to seek her out, and it was an inevitable outcome to be affected in someone else’s home field.
Her fingers moved as if performing calculations, and the stars flowed.
Tracking the flow of Star Particles within the spatial region of the entire ship, she quickly pinpointed the intruder’s location, but the principal was startled, his eyes widening as he looked towards the bedroom door.
"Right at the door!"
No sooner had the words left his mouth, Dentist Jessica moved from the bedside to the door, pushing it open with one swift motion.
The spatial barrier that had been set up was thus dispelled,
and an immense quantity of seawater instantly flooded the bedroom. The water level, which had merely lapped at the ankles, now swiftly rose to the waist, its temperature plunging to 0°C and bringing with it the bone-chilling coldness characteristic of the nightmare.
Standing at the doorway was a bald and unattractive woman, her cheeks sunken, her eyes protruding and pale, resembling the figure from the dream.
Bare, with strangly sculpted scales adorning her slightly protruding chest,
her lower half submerged in the colorful water, leaving her lower body obscured,
the only difference was that the woman’s mouth wasn’t shaped into an ’O’,
this time it wasn’t a dream, but a reality.
Her thin black and purple lips quivered slightly, and a multitude of tentacles writhed within her mouth, emitting a sinister sound, "I hadn’t expected to find a dentist in addition to a Stargazer~ Quite rare, indeed. Ever since the war ended, the breed of ’dentists’ has seldom been seen."
In response to this person’s words,
Jessica didn’t reply verbally;
instead, she leaned in closer, pulling down her mask, and gave a gentle bite beside the woman’s ear!
Crack!
The moment their teeth collided, the passageway behind them and several steel layers of the ship’s walls were torn open, as if a hole had been bitten into the belly of the cruise ship, revealing the sea outside.
Afterwards, Jessica made a beckoning gesture, "Please leave this place, guest from the Deep Sea, this ship is the property of the Teeth Hall."
The bald woman didn’t retreat;
instead, she brushed past the dentist to enter the bedroom and sat upon the completely submerged sofa.
"No rush, I’ll be leaving soon~ I came this time merely to deliver some important information on behalf of the Master of Fish Origin.
Of course, you could choose to drive me away together, but if it angers the Master, you may face the wrath of the entire ocean.
I suggest you sit down and let me have a proper chat."
Clearly displeased with this person, Dentist Jessica also knew too well that acting rashly in someone else’s domain, especially while out at sea, could bring trouble, and her physical examination could be disrupted because of it.
Just then, Desline gently tapped her on the shoulder, indicating that she would take over the negotiation.
Desline then voluntarily approached the bald woman and leaned against the other side of the sofa,
"I’m not sure how to address you. Miss who has come especially from the Deep Sea?"
"Kexia."
"Miss Kexia, might I ask why you have sought us out specially?"
"According to Lord Fish Origin’s observation, your ship seems to be heading toward..."
Kexia was about to reveal her purpose for coming when she suddenly sensed an ominous killing intent approaching from outside the passageway, one that posed a grave threat to her.
Tentacles beneath her began to squirm, ready to respond to any impending danger.
However, what appeared at the doorway was a disheveled Nash with baggy eyes, reeking of alcohol, and holding a bottle of red wine he had just opened.
"Ah~ why is the door open~ are you guys okay? Who is this, so ugly!"
As the voice faded, a withered tentacle, like that of a corpse, suddenly shot out of the water and pierced through Nash’s head, splattering a drop of brain matter. The seawater eroded the wound,
but Nash was completely unharmed. In the blink of an eye, his entire head healed instantly, and even the arc bacteria in the sea water were absorbed.
Far from angry, he was actually thankful, his scattered eyes rotating back and forth,
"Thank you! My brain was not quite clear, it seems I cut off my frontal lobe yesterday! Now it’s completely healed, I really appreciate it~ New lady.
Are you the boss’s new girl? Are you going to join our voyage?"
Kexia was terrified by such frightening regenerative abilities and could clearly sense from the recent brain-piercing tentacle that the other party was an absolute murderer, with hands stained with the blood of many mighty beings.
"What boss? I have no idea what you’re talking about, I’m just here to relay a message from Fish Origin, are you also a crew member, ’Parasite’?"
"Ah~~" Nash thrust his finger deep into his brain, twirling it continuously, and finally fished out a clump of brain tissue that made him uncomfortable and flicked it into the water, "Don’t call me ’Parasite’, I don’t like that kind of title~ just call me Nash.
Spit it out if you have something to say. Looking at the situation here, you seem to be disturbing the boss’s rest. If I find out that the boss is in any discomfort, I will kill you!"
Nash’s aura changed instantly, his roaming scattered eyes focused for the first time, staring intensely at the woman before him, his entire head twitching uncontrollably.
At that moment, flushing sounds came from the bathroom.
William emerged, wiping his just-written hands with a towel, slowly stepping out,
The murderous intent in Nash shifted to docile baby mode in an instant, and he respectfully asked, "Boss, this ugly one didn’t disturb your rest, did they?"
"No, don’t make trouble."
"Understood."
"Come in, Nash. Since she has come to deliver a message, let’s hear what she has to say."
"Yay!" Nash, finally allowed to enter the room, danced with joy like a child, a sight that left the bald woman named Kexia utterly confused.
She also turned to look at the sharply-dressed young man, unsoaked by the seawater, special in every way,
"To think that there are four Silver Circle bearers on this ship, you must be the leader, right?"
The seemingly harmless William suddenly turned his head, his gaze piercing into the Deep Sea Patient, his voice reaching directly into her brain through the Mad Shell Virus, echoing within her skull.
"Yes." As if carving countless ’YESes’ into her skull, they sizzled audibly.
"Silver Circle Madman!" Kexia couldn’t understand how a mere ordinary ship was filled with four beings so rare even in the Old World.
"Speak. What is the Fish Origin’s business with you?"
Kexia steadied her mind, beginning her explanation, "Fish Origin surmised from this vessel’s course that you may well be heading to a special marine area, one out of his control, is that so?"
"So what if it is? What does it matter if it’s not?"
"If it is so, the Master has a job for you, to help him investigate that area outside of Arc Sea control, and if possible, you should kill whatever is causing the sea’s silvering.
Even if you can’t kill it, as long as you bring back valuable information, the Master will grant you a Deep Sea Reward.
If not, we still hope you will make the trip. The sea will not treat you unfairly."
"Silvering of the sea? Does it have something to do with the moon?"
Upon hearing this, Kexia cracked an exaggerated, terrifying smile, even her squid-like fingers gracing her mouth corners, "Hahaha, it seems you indeed know~ Are you willing to perform a task for our Deep Sea?
If you agree, the rest of your voyage, as well as future ones, will sail smoothly, and you’ll receive the Master’s favor based on your contributions."
"Sure, but I have one condition~ I’m sure it wasn’t easy for Miss Kexia to come here from the Arc Sea, so why don’t you continue to accompany us on the rest of our journey, to the so-called silvered sea.
In doing so, you could also earn some Merit."
Kexia kept her smile, glancing briefly at the dentist by the door, "You want me to accompany you? But it seems someone among you doesn’t quite like me;
just a moment ago they wanted me to get lost."
William looked towards the gaping hole in the ship’s hull, seeing the displeased Dentist, and nodded, "Oh, is that so~ Then you can get lost. Since it’s Miss Jessica’s request, I must accept it~ Our team must stay harmonious.
We’ll fulfill Fish Origin’s request as instructed, and you can just contact us through the Deep Sea afterwards, now get lost~"
Kexia’s face twitched nonstop, but considering the four formidable Silver Circle bearers present, she had no choice but to leave.
As she left the cruise ship and plunged into the sea, her ire could not be quenched.
Instead of returning to the Old World, she quietly followed behind the ship, all the way to the silver maritime domain, clandestinely observing these people’s true intentions.
