CHAPTER 1225: CHAPTER 618: DAY OF MADNESS (PART 1)
"That’s a good suggestion."
Rod praised.
"But not this time, the southwest front needs Mephit. White Wolf has placed her in an excellent position to maximize her effectiveness. Kashan, Anna too. Molly is training the Battle Group members at the camp and cannot come along. Once we establish diplomatic relations with the Saint Rel Kingdom, there will be such an opportunity. I intend to stir up a cleansing frenzy in Saint Rel just like in Trolian, sweeping all the vermin out of the dark corners, and you will feast well because of it."
Asa seemed very happy, his tone filled with anticipation.
"Master, you are indeed the greatest, none can surpass you. Leaving the Supreme Will and coming to you was the best decision I’ve made in millennia! Hahaha, I can’t wait!"
Even the usually silent Book of the Future chimed in.
"I foresaw a bit of your future. Although there’s nothing particularly notable, I sense you will once again achieve a great victory, just like every time before. It’s a pity my power is so weak, if I could once again grasp the power of fate, I might reveal a clearer future for you..."
Rod laughed: "Book of the Future, you will reclaim the power of destiny. Hmm... you should give yourself a name. We all have names, and so should you."
The Book of the Future fell into confusion. What should I call myself?
It pondered this question, and unknowingly slipped back into slumber.
For some reason, ever since the bookshelf was filled, it was always so drowsy, as if sleep was endless.
About a day later, Rod returned to the Ancient City. The Divine Tower of the deceitful Ancient God Baiyatris appeared once again before him, but the Black Fog Wall was gone, and the surrounding Black Fog had returned to normal. Since the Star Marrow Altar was moved, the special monsters also vanished.
Rod briefly introduced everyone to this Ancient City and the previous battle inside it.
Two great scholars, Professor Bins and Professor Barrett, conducted a simple investigation of the Ancient City and said: "This is indeed a Divine City from the Ancient Epoch. In that era, the deceitful Ancient God was not a True God, so His Divine City could only be established in such a remote place. There weren’t many followers under His protection, probably no more than five million."
Rod curiously asked: "Then was His power strong? Was He a real god?"
Professor Bins gave him an unexpected look: "We cannot deduce this. Our information on ancient times is still quite limited."
Professor Barrett said: "The Epoch spanned a very long time, and after the upheaval of the Fire Epoch, very little information remains. We currently only know there is a distinction between Ancient Gods and Ancient Sun Gods. Among the Ancient Gods, there were four Strong Gods and thirteen True Gods, these seventeen gods formed the primary system of the Post-Ancient Epoch."
"As for Ancient Sun Gods, because the time is too remote and there was a gap, we know very little, only from fragments on some relics that there was an Ancient Sun God."
Rod nodded, he actually knew this, and had even slain a corrupted Divine Envoy of an Ancient Sun God, it wasn’t very strong.
"Perhaps Saint Rel knows more about the Ancient Gods."
A glimmer passed across Barrett’s face: "Yes, for this world, for the Black Fog, for the history submerged in the long river of time, we have too many unknowns, too many questions. I am very much looking forward to communication with the Saint Rel Kingdom."
Professor Bins’ cloudy eyes also shone in the firelight: "The moment they are unraveled will be the most glorious second of my life."
Horus exhaled: "I hope there are enough strong ones in Saint Rel, at least not weaker than us."
"That might not be certain."
Qingyu smiled.
"Although we cannot compare to the humans of the Fire Epoch, in the dark epochs, perhaps we are the strongest?"
Rod laughed: "That’s right, a genius like me is quite rare."
This statement lightened the mood, and the corners of everyone’s mouths subtly revealed smiles, although they still hoped Saint Rel might be stronger, so Trolian would have a powerful ally.
But if Saint Rel wasn’t that strong, they wouldn’t be disappointed either.
The team bypassed the Ancient City, and they saw the mark Liszt left under the Divine Tower, indicating that the inside of this Divine Tower had been completely looted and no longer held exploration value.
This discovery once again boosted the team’s morale, and they proceeded onward, soon entering the second stretch of the route.
This stretch was eight hundred kilometers long, leading straight into deeper darkness.
Along the way, the Black Fog did not thicken further, nor did it weaken.
Rod asked in puzzlement: "Is the Royal City of Saint Rel really here?"
Horus said: "Perhaps we are too far away."
Trolian’s Holy Fire, after significant enhancement, only extended its influence beyond a thousand kilometers.
Saint Rel’s Royal City might be over a thousand kilometers away.
It’s also possible their Holy Fire isn’t as strong as Trolian’s.
After spending another half-day, the group finally completed this last eight hundred kilometers.
Horus looked at the Star Disk in his hand, and solemnly said: "This is definitely it, this is the end of the route, our destination."
