The Lich of Glory Knight Spirit: Moving towards Krimasha!
Chapter 447 - 29: Siege
CHAPTER 447: CHAPTER 29: SIEGE
In the distance, the Lich who was pretending to activate the space gate on the ground could already see the black dragons on the horizon.
They were overwhelming, like a swarm of locusts.
The Undead, hidden in the snow, behind rocks, and lurking in underground spaces, were all ready.
The soul fire in Richie’s eye sockets burned wildly.
The Liches floating around Richie all began to quietly gather magic power.
The great battle was imminent, just waiting for the black dragons to get closer. The Undead had to catch them off guard with the first wave and go all out.
The more severely the black dragons were injured, the weaker their defense would be in the subsequent Battle of Dragon’s Peak.
Ten kilometers, eight kilometers, six kilometers...
The distance closed in bit by bit, the black dragons charging forward as if they were following a script prewritten by Richie.
The bone dragons and zombie dragons had already lowered their bodies slightly and started to store power. When the black dragons launched their first wave of attacks, the Liches would instantly open the hollowed-out mountain, turning the underground space into the surface. Then, countless bone dragons and zombie dragons would rush up, aided by the Undead Wolf Riders and Undead Spiders, to slaughter the black dragons.
However, when the distance was reduced to three kilometers, the black dragons stopped their charge.
Yes, they stopped. Not only did they stop, but they started to retreat bit by bit, pulling the distance back to four kilometers, and even further. The attack that was supposed to happen didn’t, and the ambush, naturally, didn’t either.
The Liches were all stunned.
*"What’s going on? Did they discover us?"* a Lich whispered, *"I swear I hid really well!"*
Richie also slowly looked up.
The world fell silent.
The black dragons flapped their wings, hovering in the air, staring down at the Undead that served as bait on the ground without moving forward.
For a while, they continued to retreat slowly.
*"They already know,"* Richie whispered.
*"That’s impossible. We hid so well! They can’t possibly have found us!"* a Lich screamed.
*"Someone told them."*
*"Who?"*
*"Heaven, or Hell. Hiding any longer is meaningless."* Raising his hand, Richie shouted, *"Attack!"*
Immediately, countless Undead struggled to stand up from the snow, shaking off the snowflakes on them.
The mountains trembled slightly, the ground’s rocks collapsed, revealing huge underground spaces and countless giant Undead beasts.
The black dragons in the sky widened their eyes slowly in horror, including the Black Dragon Elder.
...
*"We cannot let this little guy win. If he wins and completely controls the Keltos Continent, it will become a huge problem for us,"* said a demon from the Abyss, *"At the critical moment, we must help these black dragons."*
...
Abraham, now a bone dragon, flapped his wings and carried Richie into the sky. Behind him were countless bone dragons. From a distance, they looked like a massive flock of disturbed sparrows, surging into the sky.
The two sides stared at each other silently, locked in a stalemate.
A vast array of Undead began to form ranks, a sea of Undead that appeared ready to engulf the entire world. Their bodies even blocked out the white snow on the ground.
Expressionless skulls looked up quietly, soul flames crackling in their eye sockets. Wisps of smoke drifted outward, converging in the sky, making it seem as if the ground had just been scorched.
Glaring at Richie, the Black Dragon Elder’s fury had reached its peak: *"Where is my son?"*
*"Where is my father?"* Richie asked nonchalantly in return.
*"You’re the son of Lich King Gray, Richie?"* the Black Dragon Elder growled through clenched teeth.
Richie did not respond, but slowly drew the long sword from his waist and stood tall. The piercing sound echoed softly.
The soldiers of the Undead Army below could not help but grip their weapons tightly, eager to fight.
Something even more shocking happened to the black dragons. The mountains that Richie had hollowed out were clearly not just one. The rocks on the surface of the surrounding mountains collapsed, revealing even more Undead Army emerging in a near-endless stream, forming a crescent formation towards the black dragons hovering in the sky.
If the opponents weren’t black dragons, if they weren’t endowed with powerful flight abilities, and if this was a confrontation between two human armies, then the enemy would have been effectively sentenced to death. In this situation, there’s no way to retreat safely.
Fortunately, they were black dragons.
But even so...
*"What should we do now?"* a black dragon asked.
*"Fight? That doesn’t seem right, we can’t win."* another black dragon replied.
*"Retreat?"*
*"Retreat is not right either... We can’t stop them from advancing. Over a hundred kilometers away, they can walk step by step. Then what? We’ll be trapped in Dragon’s Peak with no way out..."*
The two sides remained in a deadlock, with the Undead maintaining a ready-to-attack formation, and the black dragons keeping a distance for a quick retreat.
In the high sky, two demons quietly observed the battle, their perspectives directly appearing before the demons in the Abyss.
...
*"Luckily, the black dragons weren’t foolish enough to charge straight in. As long as they are willing to hold Dragon’s Peak, at least for a while, this little Lich can’t win. Liches are immortal, and black dragons live forever too. They can stalemate here until eternity."*
