CHAPTER 104: CHAPTER 104: FAINTED FROM ANGER

Eleanor Hollis’s words made Old Master Quinn’s face turn blue, and finally, he closed his eyes and fainted again.

The butler quickly called for a doctor to save him and gave Eleanor a deep look.

Probably no one had expected that the once obedient and gentle girl would suddenly become so forceful and domineering.

Eleanor coldly watched several doctors examine Old Master Quinn. Although her earlier words were satisfying, the chill on her body did not dissipate in the slightest.

She had thought that by sticking to her principles, she would have a good outcome, but she was wrong.

This society is always about the survival of the fittest; women who are not ruthless have no status.

She clenched her palms tightly and, once in the elevator, her chest was still heaving violently.

To say she wasn’t sad would be a lie. When she was in the Quinton Family, the only person she respected was the old master.

Even though they hadn’t met many times in five years, the old master had never ridiculed or mocked her like others did. Instead, after knowing she left the family with nothing, gave her five million.

It was because of that money that her grandmother’s surgery could proceed so smoothly.

But her former benefactor quickly turned into an executioner who wanted to kill her.

Eleanor got in the car with a pale face, feeling inexplicably hateful.

In her five years with the Quinton Family, she constantly found new ways to be good to Nathaniel, thinking that if she was good enough, he would definitely return to her.

Later, when she met Hugo, she guarded her principles tightly, thinking the Quinton Family would let her go.

But she was terribly wrong; maybe she had been obedient for too long, and everyone thought she was easy to bully.

Eleanor felt like she was crushing her fingers. When she reached the apartment, she bent over to pay the driver.

Then she looked down at her palm, and sure enough, it was a bloody mess.

At this moment, Samantha Sullivan called, asking what she was doing and how she could leave Gloria Galloway, who wasn’t in the right mood, and just walk away.

"Samantha, I’m sorry, maybe what’s happening with Gloria is because of me."

Samantha, who was just about to question her, immediately fell silent upon hearing these words.

"Are you talking about the Quinton Family?"

Eleanor’s expression turned dark, "Yes, didn’t I tell you yesterday? The old master threatened me. I thought he might target my grandmother, but I didn’t expect his target would be Gloria. I’m really sorry."

Samantha didn’t reply because Gloria was right beside her, and her phone had been on speaker mode; Gloria probably heard it too.

Gloria, who had been crying, suddenly stopped and then burst into a fit of scolding.

"The Quinton Family really is terrible! Eleanor, I don’t blame you for this, although I feel uncomfortable, you’re caught in the middle too, forget it, I’ll resign right away, I refuse to believe I can’t survive without this wretched company!"

The more generous Gloria was, the deeper Eleanor’s resentment toward the old master became.

When Gloria left, she and Samantha went to the airport to see her off; they knew Gloria wasn’t a weak wallflower.

She’s always been the type to swallow her pain and keep moving forward.

For three years, who knows how much hardship she endured outside, yet with a light order from someone, all her efforts were wasted.

"Gloria, I’ll try my best to give you an explanation."

Eleanor hung up the phone and found herself already at the door.

Looking at the door in front of her, she suddenly felt a bit timid.

Even though she thought about using Hugo to take revenge on the old master, at this moment, her conscience felt greatly uneasy.

Finally, she took out the key and opened the door.

Hugo wasn’t here; he probably had something urgent at the company, so he went to Grandeur.

"Mommy."

Marcus remained enthusiastic and, upon seeing her enter, opened his arms to hug her leg.

Eleanor looked down at the child, and those dark thoughts dissipated in an instant.

She was somewhat ashamed of her thoughts. She squatted down, quietly looked at Marcus, and then smiled, "Go play with your puzzles; I need to check some information and don’t have time to play with you."

Marcus obediently nodded and sat back on the sofa.

Eleanor also sat beside him, with her computer in front of her. She thought of Gloria’s sobbing and couldn’t help but take out her phone and send a message to Hugo.

"Mr. Quinn, my friend might resign. She is very capable, and I heard Grandeur’s PR department is hiring recently. Could you consider her?"

Eleanor looked down at her phone, realizing she had changed a bit too; actually, Grandeur had finished hiring long ago, in August and September.

But she had a strong intuition that as long as she made this request, Gloria would definitely be able to join Grandeur.

Grandeur is Hugo’s company, so even if the old master wanted to intervene, he would have to consult Hugo.

Sure enough, the phone screen lit up promptly with a message from Hugo.

"Are you talking about Gloria Galloway? What department was she in before?"

Eleanor knew Gloria had always worked in the HR department, a role requiring interaction with many clients.

Gloria, with her sweet appearance, was thought by her previous company to be unable to hold her ground, so although she was outstanding in her ability, she wasn’t given much responsibility at first.

Gloria knew this, which was why she chose to transfer, seeking a promotion opportunity.

"Human Resources; her communication skills are very strong."

She had initially suggested the PR department to Hugo, actually thinking it was more suitable for Gloria compared to HR.

Though the HR department offered rapid promotion, the ceiling was low compared to the PR department.

Eleanor was a bit ambitious, wanting to secure the best resources for her friend.

"I understand, let her prepare and come to work."

Hugo’s response was straightforward, warming Eleanor’s heart yet making her feel guilty.

She had to admit that, for a moment, she did take advantage of him.

She immediately conveyed the news to Gloria, who, before suffering the pain of impending unemployment, regained her spirit upon learning she could work at Grandeur.

"Eleanor, you’re impressive! It’s Grandeur’s PR department; so many people break their necks to get in without success, and you got it done with one call!"

Gloria truly admired her, taking a deep breath, "I’ll resign tomorrow. I don’t want to stay in that cesspool any longer!"

Listening to Gloria’s bold words, Eleanor’s lips curled into a smile, finally setting aside a burden in her heart.

Grandeur Group.

Hugo sat in his office chair, hung up the phone, and immediately instructed Lan Yancy to handle the matter.

"Boss, the PR department hasn’t needed staff for a while. We already hired several interns in August and September."
