CHAPTER 31: CHAPTER 31: DON’T SAY I DIDN’T WARN YOU

Stella Lynch only then noticed that Hugo Quinn’s identity seemed unusual, and after a moment of thought, she had her calculations.

"Young man, don’t you know she just got divorced? She was with her ex-husband for five years; I don’t believe you, as a man, wouldn’t care."

She was convinced this was Eleanor Hollis’s lover, otherwise why would they be at the hospital together in the middle of the night?

Liam Lynch suddenly remembered who this person was and quickly walked up to Stella Lynch.

"What a misunderstanding, Stella, this is Hugo Quinn. How could you not recognize him? He’s Grace’s husband, probably here to see the grandmother."

With Liam Lynch’s words, Stella suddenly remembered, but couldn’t swallow her anger, thinking of Eleanor’s slap on her face.

"If you’re Grace’s husband, you should keep your distance from this divorced woman. Coming here together in the middle of the night; anyone who didn’t know might think there’s something going on between you."

Eleanor nearly laughed out of anger, realizing a trip to jail hadn’t curbed her temper.

"Stella Lynch, don’t say I didn’t warn you. If you anger him, it’s not just anybody who can get you out of jail."

Her threat worked. Stella really didn’t want to experience jail again, and she snorted coldly.

"Compared to you, Grace is so kind-hearted; she even got us out of jail. No wonder she has such a perfect husband, and you got dumped."

Eleanor’s eyes flickered. Before coming here, she had been guessing whether Grace was the one who got them out.

And now it seemed that she really was.

Grace indeed hadn’t changed at all, thinking of how to deal with Eleanor right after leaving the villa.

Hugo Quinn’s expression wasn’t good either. He remembered these people were Grace’s relatives from the countryside, who recently were causing trouble for Beatrice Sullivan and were put in jail. Would Grace really be so kind-hearted to get them released?

When Grace first married him, these relatives visited the Quinton Family, and back then, Grace vehemently refused to meet them, saying she’d been bullied by them a lot during her childhood.

So why would she get them released at this critical moment?

Moreover, these two came to the hospital immediately after being released. If he hadn’t stationed bodyguards here, the elderly family member might have already been harmed.

Hugo had never thought of understanding Grace’s affairs, but the snowball of suspicion kept growing. It seemed he had to learn more about his wife.

"This is a misunderstanding, a misunderstanding. Let me go, I’m relatives with your boss."

Liam Lynch patted the hands of the bodyguards, but they didn’t pay any attention to him, staring at Hugo Quinn.

"Let her go, and keep watch. If anyone else comes to bother the elderly, throw them out."

He said calmly, directing his words at Stella Lynch and Liam Lynch.

Stella and Liam had already experienced the power of the Quinton Family and naturally didn’t dare to act recklessly, but Eleanor was now unsupported, and they still had their means.

"Eleanor, Grace said your five hundred thousand is still there, and you haven’t donated it. She also said you’ve bought yourself lots of nice things recently. Do you look down on us poor relatives, refusing to share the money?"

Stella’s words immediately sold Grace out, and Grace wouldn’t have thought that after doing so much, she’d end up undermining herself.

Hearing this, Eleanor raised her eyebrows higher. This person was incredibly foolish.

Hugo Quinn’s face, as expected, darkened as he slowly narrowed his eyes. Grace wasn’t as innocent as she seemed.

"Do you really have no idea how you treated me when I was young? How thick is your skin to come asking me for money?"

With bodyguards stationed outside her grandmother’s room, Eleanor didn’t believe these two could do anything. If they continued causing trouble in the hospital, they’d soon be sent back to jail.

She knew well that Hugo was the major shareholder behind the hospital.

Stella Lynch’s face turned red with anger. Back when they were in the countryside, they took advantage of Eleanor’s parents’ old age and the fact that she was abandoned there.

They used her for everything, making her do all the hard labor.

At that time, Eleanor was timid and uncertain, with no confidence in her words. Who would have thought that now she was so sharp-tongued?

"Eleanor Hollis! Keeping five hundred thousand all for yourself! You’ll face the consequences for this!"

Liam Lynch, seeing Eleanor unwilling to fork over the money, also got anxious, cussing angrily.

Consequences?

Eleanor looked sharply at these two. Her grandmother had fallen sick and was hospitalized, yet no one came to Serenford to accompany her.

She had put aside her last shred of dignity to borrow money from these so-called relatives, but they hadn’t been willing to give a single penny, and now they had the nerve to say she’d face consequences.

"Uncle, Aunt, if there are really consequences in this world, do you think you’d still be alive to this day?"

Eleanor’s words carried a chilling edge, making Stella Lynch and Liam Lynch take a big step back with pale, even panicked faces.

"Since Grace has given you some money, you better head back. If you keep entangling with me, you won’t get anything."

She sharply noticed that their bags were bulging, indicating that Grace had already handed over money. She curled her lips slightly, somewhat sarcastically, and headed toward the elevator.

Stella Lynch and Liam Lynch didn’t dare follow because the bodyguards were still there.

Hugo Quinn’s face was unsightly, and he strode after Eleanor.

"I’ll give you an explanation for this."

He usually didn’t concern himself with what others were up to, having his heart solely focused on Marcus, but he didn’t expect Grace to act like this.

But hadn’t these two grown up together? Why had their relationship soured so much?

"Mr. Quinn, Marcus is Marcus, Grace is Grace. I do have some disagreements with her, but I would never harm Marcus."

Eleanor had her principles and wouldn’t do anything against her conscience.

"I know, but I must give you an explanation for this."

After getting into the car, he slowly said.

Eleanor was somewhat weary, leaning back in the seat with a burning sensation in her eyes.

"Mr. Quinn, I was drugged while trying to rescue Grace years ago, and spent a night with Nathaniel Quinn. Afterwards, I got pregnant and married into the Quinton Family. You and Grace were in another room that night. I did love my ex-husband, but five years of torment drained all my feelings."

Hugo Quinn wasn’t sure what this person wanted, perhaps just seeking someone to confide in due to vulnerability.

"Whenever I see her, I remember that humiliating night and all the pain I endured. I later became pregnant, lost the child, and my health deteriorated. It’s now difficult to conceive again, leading to much contempt at the Quinton Family."

Eleanor looked outside, feeling a strong urge to confide.
