The Long Road to Love: The Capable CEO Dad
Chapter 328: Crude Tactics
CHAPTER 328: CHAPTER 328: CRUDE TACTICS
Eleanor Hollis is now drunk and doesn’t have the heart to think about anything else.
Outside, the bright moon hangs high, and the night within the car is fleeting.
It wasn’t until four in the morning that the car stopped, and the two of them woke up.
Everything was still immersed in sleep, and suddenly the side of the RV was opened, the two of them quietly watching the distant sea.
There seemed to be quite a few couples like them waiting for the sunrise, silently finding a spot and waiting.
Eleanor Hollis nestled in Hugo Quinn’s arms, her face still had a trace of blush, and she felt weak all over.
At five, a hint of dawn appeared on the horizon, followed by exclamations from a few people not far away, as a round red sun gradually rose from the sea, golden threads spreading, and infinite rays of light unfolded in an instant.
Eleanor Hollis was somewhat stunned as she watched, never regaining her senses, whereas Hugo Quinn’s gaze was fixed on her face, not bothering to watch the sunrise.
This was her first time seeing a sunrise. She had mentioned it to Hugo Quinn before but was afraid he was too busy with work, so she hadn’t acted on it.
The process lasted for an hour, and people who came to watch the sunrise had begun to gradually disperse.
"Are you hungry? There’s a hotel nearby, let’s go have something to eat."
Hugo Quinn suddenly embraced her and walked towards the nearby hotel.
The hotels by the sea are generally quite pricey, but with Hugo Quinn as a golden mountain, Eleanor Hollis was undeterred by such considerations.
As they walked to the hotel, just as they were about to enter, a flamboyantly dressed woman came walking out. As she passed Hugo Quinn, her high heels seemed to twist, and habitually she leaned towards Hugo Quinn.
A clumsy tactic.
Eleanor Hollis didn’t intervene, thinking Hugo Quinn should be able to see through such a clumsy tactic given his skill.
However, Hugo Quinn didn’t, perhaps because his whole focus was on Eleanor Hollis, he didn’t notice someone falling towards him, and instinctively reached out to catch her, letting the woman fall into his arms.
The woman blushed deeply, gazing at him with lingering affection.
Eleanor Hollis was furious, pulling her out of Hugo Quinn’s embrace.
She was the legitimate girlfriend here, was this woman taking her for dead?
"Sir, is this your first time here? There are lots of fun places around, do you need me to show you around?"
The woman didn’t bother with Eleanor Hollis, her gaze was fixed on Hugo Quinn.
Eleanor Hollis was very angry; it was clear the woman was trying to flirt with Hugo Quinn. Though angry, she knew that dealing with such a little tease required her to be an even bigger tease.
She grabbed Hugo Quinn’s arm, "Honey, aren’t we going inside to eat? Let’s go."
Honey?
The woman heard Eleanor Hollis call him that, a dark light flashed through her eyes. Of course, she recognized Hugo Quinn’s face, the twisted ankle had been deliberate, and she had assumed Eleanor Hollis was just a mistress accompanying him, not expecting her to be President Quinn’s wife.
But she seemed to recall President Quinn wasn’t married? After all, the financial newspapers had always dubbed him as the golden bachelor.
Hugo Quinn’s gaze didn’t linger on the woman, perhaps due to his good mood, his guard had lowered somewhat without feeling there was anything wrong with the woman, and he embraced Eleanor Hollis’s waist and walked into the hotel.
The woman remained where she was, brushing back her loose hair by her ear, and then taking out her phone to make a call.
"Hugo Quinn is married?"
The person answering seemed surprised, then firmly shook their head.
"I haven’t heard anything about President Quinn getting married. Miss, weren’t you watching the sunrise? How come you’re mentioning this man?"
Serena Sutton’s lips curved into a smile, her air was very good; she was a cellist, having grown up in a musical family with the best education.
"I just happened to see him, he seems to have forgotten me."
Serena Sutton hung up the phone, turning to look at the departing couple filled with inexplicable loss.
She wasn’t fond of Hugo Quinn, just used to his aloof demeanor, and suddenly discovering he had such a soft side towards women made her uncomfortable.
This was a manifestation of a woman’s inherent vice.
Previously, she and Hugo Quinn were schoolmates, although harboring affection, she knew Hugo Quinn’s high status and never pursued him actively.
Back then, many in the class were pursuing Hugo Quinn, and if she remembered correctly, during school, Hugo Quinn had a girlfriend who stayed with him for three years.
Hugo Quinn seemed quite caring towards that girl too.
Serena Sutton’s lips curled, expecting to watch some drama next, because she seemed to have seen that girl here before.
Eleanor Hollis and Hugo Quinn had entered the hotel, but recalling the woman just now, her face was very sour.
Hugo Quinn noticed her change in mood and pulled her to sit down.
"At the time, I didn’t react, I was always watching you."
He explained lightly, placing a glass of lemon water in front of her.
A bit of Eleanor Hollis’s discomfort eased, she picked up the water and took a sip.
"Next time, don’t let anyone get so close to you, that girl’s tactics were too low-level."
Even Eleanor Hollis had seen through the girl’s low-level tactics, how could Hugo Quinn not know?
"Mmm, don’t be angry, let’s eat something first."
Seeing his good attitude, Eleanor Hollis curved her lips slightly, not planning to argue anymore.
But halfway through the meal, she noticed Hugo Quinn seemed a bit absent-minded.
Eleanor Hollis frowned and followed his gaze, noticing at the table by the window sat a woman crying miserably.
Does Hugo Quinn know that woman?
Eleanor Hollis felt uneasy about her meal, wanting to ask but fearing she was being too sensitive.
Maybe Hugo Quinn was just surprised to see someone crying.
After they finished eating, the girl stood up, though her body was trembling and she quickly collapsed.
Before Eleanor Hollis could react, she saw Hugo Quinn had already gone over and picked her up.
"Eleanor, let’s take her to the hospital."
Hugo Quinn spoke plainly, and although Eleanor Hollis felt uncomfortable, she understood Hugo Quinn was helping someone, perhaps she would have taken the girl to the hospital too if she had seen her faint.
She nodded, following them, only then seeing the girl’s appearance clearly.
Very pure and cute, like dew freshly formed at dawn, evoking a protective desire at first glance.
At the hospital, Hugo Quinn placed her on a hospital bed but didn’t leave, instead pulling Eleanor Hollis to sit down.
Eleanor Hollis’s doubts deepened, does Hugo Quinn know this woman?
But as far as she knew, apart from Grace Lynch, Hugo Quinn’s life never involved any interactions with women.
Even with Grace Lynch, under the old man’s coercion and enticement, he chose to marry, and Hugo Quinn had told her he never liked anyone before.
