CHAPTER 332: CHAPTER 332: WHAT COMPENSATION DO YOU WANT

"Miss Sterling, please calm down. If a person dies, then there’s nothing left."

"Yes, Miss Sterling, President Quinn instructed us to keep a close watch on you. You absolutely cannot let anything happen to you."

Hugo Quinn’s status stands there, and who knows what relationship this woman has with him? The doctors dared not rest and took turns watching this person.

Meredith Sterling’s face was pale. Upon seeing Hugo Quinn walk in from outside, she suddenly became silent, curled up in bed without uttering a word.

When the doctors saw Hugo Quinn arrive, they quickly exchanged looks and then walked out.

"I have done all I can for you. Your misfortune is indeed largely due to me, but after you saved me back then, it was your own choice to become my girlfriend. Since you knew my identity was not simple, you should have stayed far away from me, rather than trying to tie me with a life-saving debt. Meredith, the matter back then was Old Master Quinn’s fault. If you want compensation, you can tell me."

This matter was a sin committed by Old Master Quinn. If not resolved, once Meredith Sterling reveals this matter, everyone will suffer, including Eleanor Hollis.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have the leisure to meddle.

Meredith Sterling still bowed her head, saying nothing, as if she had suffered a great grievance, tears continued to fall.

Hugo Quinn furrowed his brow, not saying any comforting words, and quietly sat by, waiting for her to set forth conditions.

"What compensation? Can this compensation bring back my father’s life? Can it restore my mother’s health? Hugo Quinn, when I was with you, I did indeed have some affection for you, but I am certain I caused you no disturbance. I am a self-aware person, knowing you would not fancy me, so I kept this affection buried in my heart. Even when the Old Master chased me out of the country, I never told you the reason, you only knew I was going abroad for further study, but not why."

As Meredith spoke, she was crying, but seeing this man unmoved, she completely lost hope, and slowly lay back on the bed.

"You may leave, I don’t want anything. I know your relationship with Eleanor Hollis is strong, and I don’t intend to do anything to harm your relationship."

Hugo Quinn stood up and casually took out a check, placing it at the bedside.

"You can fill in any amount, consider it as compensation for you, whether you take it or not is your business. I have given the compensation."

After finishing speaking, Hugo Quinn immediately left.

Meredith Sterling’s lips curled into a mocking smile. What she wanted was not compensation, but Hugo Quinn’s heart, she wanted Hugo Quinn to treat her like he did in the past.

Meredith Sterling got up, looked at the check, then put it in a nearby bag. If she can’t get anything in the end, taking a big sum of money and running away would be acceptable.

Her phone rang at this moment, looking at the name displayed, her eyes darkened.

"Old Master."

She said lightly, her tone somewhat detached.

Old Master Quinn was quietly playing chess with the butler, hearing her speak.

"How’s it going on your side? Is Hugo willing to take you back?"

Meredith Sterling lowered her eyes, her fist slowly clenched.

"He is still cautious about me, but as long as I keep working at it, it won’t be long."

Old Master Quinn nodded with satisfaction, his mouth curled up.

"As long as you complete this task well, successfully driving Eleanor Hollis away, then I will allow you to marry into the Quinton Family and find an internationally advanced team to treat your mother’s illness. Though gastric cancer is somewhat tricky, those experts might have a way."

A glimmer of hope flashed across Meredith Sterling’s eyes, she returned from abroad precisely because of the two conditions offered by Old Master Quinn.

In fact, her father didn’t die from depression at the time. Her father was constantly gambling, losing all the family’s money, and later, when being pursued for debts, he accidentally fell from a tall building and died.

After her father’s death, she and her mother lived a good life, but the good days didn’t last long, her mother was diagnosed with gastric cancer.

During her plight, Old Master Quinn’s phone call came, hoping she would stay by Hugo Quinn’s side, and faked a very tragic background for her, just to obtain Hugo Quinn’s sympathy. Now it seems everything is going smoothly.

"I understand. Thank you."

She hung up, a trace of resentment flashed in her eyes. She hated that the Old Master forced her to go abroad back then. If she hadn’t gone abroad, how could another woman have appeared by Hugo Quinn’s side, maybe the two would have already become a couple.

Hugo Quinn left the hospital, immediately drove home, passing by a mall when he suddenly remembered there was no yogurt at home, he promptly got out of the car and brought Eleanor Hollis a yogurt.

It was already the middle of the night, by the time he got home, it was nearly dawn at five o’clock.

He put the yogurt into the refrigerator, it was Eleanor Hollis’s favorite flavor, then returned upstairs to snuggle under the covers.

Eleanor Hollis hadn’t slept the entire time, hearing the car engine outside, she knew Hugo Quinn had come back, he returned quite early.

Her lips curved a little when she felt him get into bed, she quickly nestled into his embrace.

Hugo Quinn assumed she was asleep, cautiously hugged her, then fell asleep again.

Eleanor Hollis was completely at ease now, for she knew, no matter how many Meredith Sterlings there were, it was the same, Hugo Quinn’s heart towards her would never waver.

The two slept until seven in the morning, Hugo Quinn got up first and patted Eleanor Hollis’s back.

"I bought you yogurt, go downstairs and have some."

Recently, because of the Meredith Sterling affair, the two were often awakened in the middle of the night and hadn’t slept well.

Eleanor Hollis rubbed her eyes and got up, looking at him puzzled.

"Wasn’t yogurt gone last night? It’s still early now, the nanny probably hasn’t bought any yet, right?"

"I brought it for you when I came back last night, you can make a salad, Marcus has been clamoring for salad."

Hugo Quinn said while dressing himself, and went to the bathroom to wash up.

Eleanor Hollis, sleepily, followed him inside, slowly hugged his waist in front of the mirror.

"You’re so good."

Hugo Quinn paused the hand holding the toothbrush, his lips curved.

"Your mouth is so sweet early in the morning? Hurry and freshen up."

Eleanor Hollis hummed and washed up, then went downstairs to slice the fruit.

Marcus had school and got up a little earlier than them.

"Mommy, Daddy, good morning."

He sat at the dining table, his eyes darting around.

Eleanor Hollis made the fruit salad and placed it before him, leaving a kiss on his forehead.

"Morning, hurry up and eat breakfast, then go to school."

Marcus smiled sweetly as he ate; before leaving, he reminded.

"Mommy, the weather report said there’s snow today, it might be the first snow of the winter, you can go out for a walk."

Eleanor Hollis turned and looked out the window, only then did she realize winter had truly arrived.
