The Long Road to Love: The Capable CEO Dad
Chapter 346: Wanting to Steal a Heart
CHAPTER 346: CHAPTER 346: WANTING TO STEAL A HEART
Although Hugo Quinn was unwilling, he finally listened to her.
Upon entering the hospital entrance, Serena Sutton quietly observed everything around and noticed Eleanor Hollis indeed hadn’t brought anyone along, her lips curled slightly.
There were six or seven men in the elevator, and upon entering with Eleanor Hollis, it seemed a bit crowded.
For some reason, when she saw those men, a trace of unease flashed through her eyes.
But they showed no abnormal behavior, perhaps she was being overly cautious.
The elevator made a "ding" sound, but the doors didn’t open, as if everything was frozen.
"What’s going on?"
Eleanor Hollis tapped the elevator doors and turned to glance at Serena Sutton.
However, Serena’s face was hidden in the shadows, making it impossible to see her expression clearly.
"Miss Sutton, don’t be afraid, it might just be an elevator malfunction, someone will come to fix it soon."
She thought Serena was scared and hurriedly comforted her.
A flash appeared in Serena’s eyes, and she softened for a brief moment but remembered Florian’s pale face, gritted her teeth, and signaled the men in the elevator to act.
Eleanor Hollis’s neck suddenly hurt, and she instantly collapsed to the ground.
The camera in the elevator was deliberately sabotaged; it was all a setup.
The top of the elevator suddenly opened, and there were people outside providing support.
Serena and a few men climbed up immediately, sat in a temporary makeshift elevator, and went straight to the hospital’s rooftop, avoiding all surveillance cameras.
Serena’s intelligence was considerable; these were people she’d arranged long ago, and using the elevator malfunction could stall for enough time to let the helicopter take off.
Even if Hugo Quinn wanted to investigate, it would take some effort.
The helicopter took off slowly, several people boarded, while Eleanor Hollis was placed in a corner.
Serena breathed a sigh of relief, thinking Hugo Quinn, no matter how powerful, would find it hard to assert himself against other families abroad.
Her mood suddenly elevated; she looked at Eleanor, feeling a bit regretful, thinking such a beautiful girl was going to have her heart removed.
Eleanor Hollis slept soundly, unaware of everything.
Meanwhile, Hugo Quinn was waiting for her at home. An hour later, he hadn’t received any call from Eleanor Hollis and suddenly became anxious.
What was the outcome? Why wasn’t she calling to inform him?
He could only take out his phone and call Eleanor.
The line was busy; whom was the other side talking to?
This was another trap set by Serena Sutton, leaving Eleanor’s phone at the hospital and having Serenford’s men use a phone booth to keep the call going with Eleanor’s phone. As long as the line stayed busy, Hugo Quinn would think Eleanor was safe.
It’s a misconception people hold.
Sure enough, Hugo Quinn hung up, planning to call again when the line was free.
Just thirty minutes later, he called again, discovering the line was still busy.
Hugo stood up immediately; Eleanor rarely chatted with others, even with her close friend Gloria, she wouldn’t have a thirty-minute call.
He hurried to the hospital, only to be informed the elevator was broken, and repairmen were fixing it, but those inside hadn’t been rescued yet.
Hugo pounded the doors loudly.
"Eleanor Hollis! Eleanor, are you inside?"
Yet there was no sound from inside. He went to the hospital’s surveillance room, only to find the camera in that elevator was broken, unable to see the situation inside.
Hugo grew anxious, reviewed the hospital’s surveillance footage, confirming Eleanor and Serena entered the elevator and hadn’t been recorded exiting. If not inside, it could only mean they’d vanished mysteriously.
Hugo immediately summoned many technicians, and when they opened the elevator doors again, none were inside.
For some reason, everyone felt a chill; it was eerie how a few living people disappeared just like that?
Hospitals are reputed to be eerie places, and it seems true now.
Hugo entered the elevator, looked up, and found the top door showed signs of being opened. He quickly requested a ladder to check the upper level of the elevator.
A rope still left there, along with scratches on the iron wire, indicating Eleanor and Serena had encountered trouble.
Hugo rushed out of the elevator, called Lan Yancy, and asked him to find Eleanor’s current location.
However, Eleanor’s phone was left at the hospital, making its location show as the hospital, aside from that, no other information could be found.
Hugo felt frustrated and reviewed the hospital surveillance again, finding no scene of suspicious vehicles leaving. Could these people abducting two women really fly away from the sky?
Fly away from the sky?!
Hugo immediately went to the hospital’s rooftop, sure enough, discovering dust blown to the edges, indicating strong wind had blown through, likely from a helicopter.
But considering two hours had already passed since the incident, chasing now would be too late, needing to first investigate their intended destination for the two women.
Very soon, Lan Yancy had new findings, placing a stack of documents in Hugo’s hand.
"Chief, this is the information you requested. Serena Sutton did lose a child years ago; she also has a lover a few years younger than her. Their relationship is good, but shortly after marriage, the man was diagnosed with heart disease requiring a transplant. Serena has been seeking a suitable heart these past years, but unsuccessfully."
Hugo’s eyes slowly narrowed, his face darkened.
"What about the man’s information? Find out what blood type he is."
The thought of that answer made Hugo tremble; these people dared plan on stealing Eleanor’s heart!
Damn it!
Thirty minutes later, Lan Yancy placed a new document before him.
"The man’s name is Florian, has RH negative blood type, and has about three months left."
Hugo’s expression changed, RH negative? Eleanor happened to have that blood type.
"Move! Head overseas! Find that man’s location, Lan Yancy, hurry!"
Hugo’s voice was trembling; arriving slightly late, Eleanor might have...
He took a deep breath, made simple arrangements, and headed overseas with his team.
Some country’s airport.
Grace Lynch just got off the plane and saw a fleet of luxury cars waiting outside, around ten in total, with all the bodyguards respectfully standing by the car doors.
Grace’s face looked pale, thin to the point of losing her human shape, her eyes full of envy.
Such a family, probably on par with Hugo Quinn’s assets now, she thought lamentably; she could never return to the Quinton Family, as that man treated her like discarded baggage.
