The Long Road to Love: The Capable CEO Dad
Chapter 349: Cooperating with the Crawford Family
CHAPTER 349: CHAPTER 349: COOPERATING WITH THE CRAWFORD FAMILY
Serena’s footsteps paused; Eleanor Hollis’s words hit right at what she was most anxious about, and she dared not let Florian know.
Florian was a kind person, and if he knew she was hurting others for his sake, he would rather die than agree to the surgery.
"He won’t have the chance to know, and you won’t have the chance to live, Eleanor. Only your death can let him live."
Having said that, Serena left.
Eleanor watched her back, her mind suddenly in chaos.
Serena was serious. If she didn’t start thinking about escaping, she would probably lose her heart.
What about Hugo? She didn’t know where Hugo was now...
Eleanor suddenly calmed down, slowly sat on the ground, her eyes a little red.
If she hadn’t experienced this personally, she really couldn’t imagine going through something like this.
At that moment, Hugo Quinn was still frantically searching in this country; this wasn’t Serenford, and as an outsider, he was at a huge disadvantage.
Morvania’s local forces were many and very united, unwilling to provide him with any information.
"President, we have located Florian."
Lan Yancy suddenly said, holding his phone, his face full of joy.
Hugo immediately stood up, ready to head to that location, but gunfire suddenly erupted around them.
Morvania does not ban guns; citizens here, once of age, could apply to the local government for firearms.
They quickly took cover, unable to discern who was behind this sudden attack.
After a long exchange of fire, Hugo suddenly took out his phone and called Xavier Crawford, knowing only by relying on the Crawford Family’s power, could he find Eleanor.
Upon learning Eleanor had disappeared, Xavier immediately rushed over, leaving Frost behind.
With the Crawford Family’s involvement, the forces secretly attacking soon retreated.
Xavier paused upon seeing Hugo.
"Are you trying to get yourself killed?! Don’t you know someone has put a bounty on your head, a billion, just posted a couple of days ago? The moment you set foot in Morvania, every assassin will be after you, Hugo. Haven’t you been keeping up with the news here?"
Xavier gritted his teeth, knowing if something happened to him, what would they do about Eleanor?
Hugo was stunned; no wonder since entering Morvania he’s been under attack, thinking it was local forces, but it seemed it was the assassins.
Xavier was an assassin himself, naturally more informed about this.
"I haven’t been keeping up, I’ve been worried about Eleanor disappearing."
Xavier told them to get into the car and drove to the Crawford Family estate.
Cole Crawford was in the villa at the time, frowning deeply at their arrival, clearly unwelcome.
Hadn’t they already returned Eleanor home before, why the return?
"What are you doing here?"
His tone was poor, thinking about the dog named Frost left at home, and his expression darkened further.
Hugo sat down indifferently, ignoring him, instead talking directly to Xavier.
"I need to find Florian now; he needs a heart transplant, Eleanor’s being forcibly used as a donor, they’re going to take her heart, so we need to move quickly, and you’re familiar with the area."
Xavier nodded, indeed worried about Eleanor.
But as he stood up, Cole called him back.
"Didn’t you promise last time not to get involved with Eleanor’s matters again?"
Xavier’s steps froze, "Brother, do you want me to watch Eleanor die? If she dies, I’ll never be happy."
Cole pursed his lips, silenced by the rebuttal.
"Brother, just wait here, lend us some men, isn’t Florian your friend? You must know where he’s hiding?"
Florian was indeed Cole’s friend and did have a heart condition.
The heart transplant expert was introduced by Cole.
He furrowed his brows; Florian was his friend, of course, he hoped Florian could have a successful surgery. Once over, Florian could live at least another twelve years, but Eleanor was his brother’s love interest, caught in between; he was truly in a dilemma.
"Forget it, brother. I know it’s difficult for you; we’ll find him ourselves, just lend me a few people."
Leaving these words, Xavier followed Hugo out.
Cole rubbed his temples, seemingly involving Eleanor Hollis in everything was a recipe for disaster.
Lan Yancy had located Florian’s position, but breaking into that place was extremely challenging because those buildings were in cahoots with the local government. Hugo, already a target, would risk everyone’s lives if they angered the government.
"Let’s wait here. This is the main thoroughfare; even if Florian goes to the hospital, he must pass through here. We’ll just follow him once he passes."
Xavier stopped them, knowing if he didn’t, Hugo would likely charge in recklessly.
"Are you certain?"
Hugo didn’t want to take risks; Eleanor had been missing for several days; he didn’t know how she was now.
Having been attacked continually upon entering Morvania, locating someone was difficult, yet Eleanor’s whereabouts remained unclear.
"Yes, he’s my brother’s good friend; I’ve been in before with my brother. The woman around him is very cautious, already knowing about Eleanor and me, so I can’t enter now."
Hugo glanced at him, tempted to ask what business he had with Eleanor, but now wasn’t the time for bickering.
It wasn’t until two o’clock in the morning the next day that a car drove out from inside.
"That’s the one."
Xavier placed down the binoculars, calmly noted, and had several cars follow.
Florian indeed sat in the car and watched as Serena, since moments ago, was visibly uneasy, finding it amusing.
"Serena, don’t worry; I can’t bear to leave you. I won’t give up easily."
Serena pulled a faint smile, not worried about the surgery but about Hugo coming to find her.
She had known Hugo had come to Morvania days ago, and though she had Grace Wexler spend money to place a bounty on Hugo’s head, given his skills, he could only be delayed temporarily. Once he recovered, he would undoubtedly come to rescue Eleanor.
"Florian, I’m just so happy. Don’t think about anything later, just cooperate with the doctors. Once the surgery finish, you can see me. I’ll personally make soup for you, so you’ll recover quickly."
Florian’s eyes filled with longing; because of his illness, he hadn’t spent time alone with Serena for a long time. Thinking of the future chance to be alone with her warmed his heart.
