CHAPTER 37: CHAPTER 37: TRADING YOU FOR HER

"You go and bring back Grace Lynch, Eleanor Hollis. Grace got involved because of you, and you must go handle this, or I won’t let you off."

Eleanor Hollis was almost amused by his anger. She really wanted to know how thick-faced this person could be to say such shameless words.

"Why should I bring her back? Nathaniel Quinn, the news about you and her is known by everyone in Serenford. Doesn’t everybody know about your feelings for her? Do you think anyone would be willing to exchange me for her?"

After speaking, Eleanor Hollis hung up the phone. Her body still felt very weak.

She knew Nathaniel Quinn’s nature well, even if she didn’t go, she would probably be forcibly taken by that person.

She struggled to move her body and opened the door to the ward. Sure enough, a few bodyguards sent by Hugo Quinn were still there, she sincerely felt grateful to that man once again.

"If anyone tries to break in, stop them."

The bodyguards exchanged glances with one another and finally nodded.

"Miss Hollis, don’t worry. We have undergone professional training and will ensure your safety."

Eleanor Hollis breathed a sigh of relief, but still felt uneasy and continued to instruct.

"If there are a lot of them, you call Mr. Quinn and tell him someone wants me dead."

Hugo now needed her to treat Marcus, he surely wouldn’t leave her unprotected, regardless of how many people Nathaniel Quinn would bring over, it wouldn’t work.

The bodyguards’ expressions froze, realizing she might be facing a major incident, they instantly straightened up.

"Miss Hollis, no one will harm you unless they walk over our corpses."

Trained by Hugo Quinn, Eleanor Hollis nodded satisfactorily and locked the ward door, finally waiting quietly for Nathaniel Quinn.

Having lived with Nathaniel Quinn for so many years, she understood his character too well.

About twenty minutes later, Nathaniel Quinn showed up with a few people, seemingly intending to forcibly take her away.

"Mr. Quinn, what are you doing here?"

The bodyguards outside the ward knew Nathaniel Quinn and blocked him as he tried to enter the room.

"Get out of the way! I need to see Eleanor Hollis!"

Nathaniel Quinn was anxious; they only gave him two hours, and if he couldn’t successfully take Eleanor Hollis, Grace Lynch would be done for.

"Miss Hollis has instructed not to let anyone in."

Nathaniel Quinn was furious. These men belonged to his uncle, and he hesitated about what to do for a moment, gritting his teeth.

"I’m giving face to my uncle and don’t want a conflict with you all, but don’t obstruct me from finding Eleanor Hollis. I have important matters that require her cooperation!"

The bodyguards still didn’t compromise. Eleanor Hollis had made it clear that if anyone broke in successfully, her life would be in danger.

"Mr. Quinn, please step away from the door, or we will call the president over here. Miss Hollis is the little ancestor’s psychologist and must not have any issues."

It was the first time Nathaniel Quinn had been threatened, especially by low-level bodyguards.

His eyes reddened instantly, letting out a cold laugh, "You won’t let me? Then take action!"

The people behind him immediately rushed forward, quickly engaging in a scuffle with the bodyguards.

"Call the president!"

One of the bodyguards said, feeling Nathaniel Quinn was acting nearly insane, knowing full well they represented the president, yet still daring to act.

Nathaniel Quinn was truly going mad. Thinking about the potential danger to Grace Lynch, he paid no heed to anything else.

Even though earlier at the old house, Grace Lynch had caused him immense sorrow, given all those years of feelings, how could he just let go?

Hugo Quinn received the call while handling company matters.

This morning, he originally planned to take Marcus to the hospital to see Eleanor Hollis but was delayed by company issues and had been occupied the entire morning.

"Nathaniel Quinn has gone to capture Eleanor Hollis?"

His brows furrowed tighter, finally rising.

"Stop him, I’m coming to the hospital."

It’s only about ten minutes from here to the hospital; he wanted to see exactly what Nathaniel Quinn intended to do.

While the two groups were struggling, Hugo Quinn arrived.

As he stepped out of the elevator, the fighting immediately ceased.

The bodyguards spared no mercy, and Nathaniel Quinn’s men were injured to varying degrees.

Nathaniel Quinn’s face grew increasingly dark, especially seeing Hugo Quinn indeed arrived, his entire body stiffened, suddenly at a loss for words.

To outsiders, Nathaniel Quinn seemed exceptional; he had his own company and managed it well.

His looks were top-notch, surpassing many young masters of Serenford.

Yet, within the Quinton Family, there was Hugo Quinn, overshadowing all his achievements and making him seem ordinary.

People only admired Hugo Quinn’s excellence, barely ever noticing him.

"Nathaniel, what are you doing here?"

Hugo Quinn was Nathaniel Quinn’s elder, indifferent as he cast his gaze to the latter.

Although they stood on the same ground, Nathaniel Quinn inexplicably felt that this man stood higher.

"Uncle, Grace was captured. We need Eleanor Hollis to exchange for her."

He spoke coldly, suddenly remembering this man was Grace’s husband, making all his actions seem redundant.

"Does Eleanor Hollis agree?"

Hugo Quinn found it laughable; not only had this person secretly entangled with Grace Lynch, but after divorce, he still wanted to use Eleanor Hollis to ensure Grace’s safety. Where is the decency?

Nathaniel Quinn didn’t speak; clearly, the person wasn’t willing, but he wouldn’t allow her unwillingness!

"Uncle, Grace is very dangerous now. If we don’t send Eleanor Hollis over, they’ll kill Grace. Grace is your wife. Don’t you care at all?"

For so many years, Grace had been by this man’s side; how could he be so calm, so cold and heartless?

"Since she’s my wife, what are you, an outsider, anxious about?"

Hugo Quinn spoke quite rudely, choosing to stand on Eleanor Hollis’s side.

How unlucky Eleanor Hollis was to have encountered such a man.

Nathaniel Quinn, feeling utterly lacking confidence from his words, had approached with biased thinking, not wanting to tell Hugo Quinn about Grace’s situation at this moment.

As long as he used Eleanor Hollis to bring Grace back, Grace would surely feel grateful and might divorce and marry him.

What he hadn’t anticipated was that bodyguards were protecting Eleanor Hollis, and all his plans were thwarted.

"Uncle, Grace has been captured, and you’re not anxious at all. It looks like you don’t love her. If you don’t love her, can you let go? I’ve liked her for years, since she saved my life, I’ve been fond of her."

He was almost pleading, truly having feelings for Grace Lynch.
