Chapter 53: Misjudged Someone
CHAPTER 53: CHAPTER 53: MISJUDGED SOMEONE
Her footsteps paused, and she said with some concern, why is this person kneeling here? Did something just happen?
Nathaniel Quinn kept his head down. After Mr. Lynch and Eleanor Hollis disappeared, he stayed here alone.
Seeing Eleanor leave with his uncle, he felt very upset and didn’t even know why he felt this way.
Hearing Grace Lynch’s voice, he raised his tearful eyes, which turned red.
"Nathaniel, what’s wrong with you? Get up quickly."
Grace pulled him up and noticed he looked unwell. She quickly reached out to feel his forehead.
"Are you running a fever? Stay here, I’ll get some fever medicine."
She acted very attentively, her fiery red dress swaying gracefully, making her look enchanting.
Tonight, she was dressed to the nines, exquisite from head to toe.
The fiery red dress wrapped her perfectly. Normally she was dignified and gentle, but at this moment, she was like a passionate flame.
"Nathaniel, here, take this."
She fetched the fever medicine and fed it into Nathaniel Quinn’s mouth.
Nathaniel indeed felt very uncomfortable; he’d been suffering from a severe cold before attending the banquet tonight.
Adding to the entanglement with Eleanor and the recent kneeling, he was all muddled.
"I don’t want to stay here."
He said hoarsely. Thinking of Eleanor Hollis’s words earlier, his heart felt like a big hole had been pierced in it, the cold wind pouring in.
Grace’s eyes lit up, was this person forgiving her?
"Alright, I’ll take you away."
She immediately helped him up and left through the back door.
After all, the identities of her and Nathaniel Quinn were special; if seen, it would probably spark gossip.
She helped Nathaniel into the car and climbed in herself.
Nathaniel Quinn was somewhat feverish and muddled, his mind full of Eleanor Hollis.
One moment he was recalling Eleanor’s tender demeanor, the next her ruthless coldness.
The face before him slowly blurred, then turned into the image of Eleanor Hollis.
Grace wiped his sweat, feeling smug seeing the man being so compliant.
She thought he could hold it out for longer, but within half a month, he came to seek reconciliation with her.
Indeed, over a decade of feelings aren’t something one can just let go of.
Nathaniel was in chaos, realizing Eleanor was by his side and caring for him made his face break into a gentle smile.
"Actually, you still care about me, right?"
They had spent five years together; how could this woman suddenly be so heartless...
Grace was even happier hearing him ask this, it seemed he was always afraid she would abandon him.
She immediately snuggled into his arms, "Of course I care, Nathaniel, we’ve known each other for so many years, how could I not care about you."
Hearing her say she cared, Nathaniel’s cold heart gradually warmed.
He cradled her face, staring earnestly at her features.
He had always thought Eleanor looked too plain, but now he found every feature appealing.
Her nose was high, her mouth small, and her skin was very fair, just a bit slender.
"I was wrong before. Can we start over? I’ll treat you well; maybe I’ve fallen for you. Please don’t leave me."
Grace was a bit excited, glad that he realized he’d been cold to her lately. She gave a deliberate pout, sounding like she was acting coquettishly.
"You’ve been too cold to me recently, making me think you didn’t care about me."
Nathaniel’s face flashed with panic, and he immediately pulled her into an embrace, explaining anxiously.
"I’m sorry, it’s my fault. Can you forgive me..."
Seeing him like this, Grace knew she couldn’t be too pretentious, and immediately placed her hands on his waist.
"I forgive you. I do care about you. Where should we go next?"
Her fingers skillfully traced his waist, her intentions clear.
Nathaniel swallowed hard. Eleanor had been proactive with him before, but in five years of marriage, he had never touched her.
Now he felt a twinge of regret.
Tonight, he wanted her.
Badly.
"To the hotel."
He softly whispered in her ear, holding her tighter.
Grace’s eyes twinkled with a hint of laughter, this man still as passionate as before, her lips curling, "Sure, let’s go to the hotel."
Just as they reached the hotel’s room door, Nathaniel immediately shut the door behind them, pushing her against the wall with force and kissing her.
Grace enjoyed his passion, eagerly cooperating with him, and she also felt excited.
Nathaniel knew that tonight Eleanor was very mesmerizing, as graceful as a princess.
She was meant to be his.
Thinking this, he directly picked her up, and they fell onto the big bed together.
Nathaniel clasped her waist tightly, "Eleanor..."
He called lovingly.
"Eleanor, you look stunning tonight."
Grace, who was just immersed in it, froze upon hearing that name, feeling a chill wash over her as she instantly sobered up.
"Eleanor, I’ll treat you well. I love you."
The man continued to murmur sweet nothings in her ear.
But the more affectionate he was, the more she felt like falling into an ice pit.
Turns out he mistook her for Eleanor...
Grace’s chest heaved in anger, her nails digging into Nathaniel’s skin.
Yet Nathaniel remained clueless, continuing to whisper intoxicating words of love.
"Nathaniel Quinn!! Look carefully at who I am!!"
Grace pushed him away, furious at him calling another woman’s name while with her. This was an insult to her.
She couldn’t accept this! Especially when that other woman was Eleanor Hollis!!
Nathaniel, pushed away, became momentarily clear-headed and saw Grace looking at him in fury.
He rubbed his head and noticed neither of them were dressed, and they were in a hotel.
There was no doubt as to what had happened.
"Did you mistake me for Eleanor Hollis?! Don’t tell me you’ve fallen for her!! Nathaniel, you weren’t like this before!"
Grace yelled, her eyes instantly reddening. Wasn’t this man in love with her? Why had he had a change of heart...
She never thought Nathaniel would have a change of heart; over the years, this man had been so good to her.
Even when she was abroad, he chased after her overseas just to celebrate her birthday.
When Nathaniel realized whose face it was, his face was full of disappointment, and he began dressing in silence.
"What do you mean by this?! Nathaniel, tell me clearly! Have you really fallen for Eleanor Hollis?!"
Grace, unwilling to give up, lunged forward, grabbing his arm to question him.
Nathaniel’s aura was somber, "Tonight’s events, let’s just pretend they never happened."
Grace nearly laughed in anger at his words.
