CHAPTER 78: CHAPTER 78: WE’LL SEE
"It’s my own business, I know what I’m doing, you don’t need to worry about me."
He ate a few bites indifferently and then got up to leave.
Beatrice Sullivan immediately grabbed his sleeve, "Aren’t you staying at home tonight?"
"No, I’m going to my own place."
Because Nathaniel Quinn suddenly became cold, Beatrice felt uneasy. What has been going on with this child lately?
"Mom, I think we need to go warn Eleanor Hollis, tell her not to shamelessly seduce my brother. My brother’s current mood is off, maybe it’s because he’s starting to care about Eleanor Hollis, and that’s what’s making him angry."
Beatrice’s eyes flickered, "Which hospital is Eleanor Hollis’ grandmother in?"
Joelle Quinn’s lips curled into a smile, knowing her mother had a plan.
...
The next day at noon, Eleanor Hollis went to the hospital to visit her grandmother and found that she was becoming more spirited, even able to walk around under the sun outside the hospital.
"Luna, look, my health is getting better, it’s time to go back to the countryside. When you have time, buy me a ticket."
Eleanor frowned, holding her arm.
"Grandma, I really don’t feel at ease with you going back to the countryside."
Bridget Sutton reached out and patted the back of her hand, "I have to see your grandpa. He lived his whole life in the countryside for me. I can’t leave him and enjoy myself in the city. Besides, the city really doesn’t suit me; it’s more comfortable in the countryside."
The old lady had lived in the countryside her whole life and did not like the atmosphere of the city.
Eleanor knew she couldn’t force it, and she saw that her grandmother’s spirit had fully recovered.
"Alright, Grandma, I’ll buy you a ticket for tomorrow. Tonight, you’ll go to my place first, and I’ll pack some clothes for you."
Bridget nodded, her face full of kindness.
When they returned to the ward, they heard Joelle Quinn’s voice from outside.
"Eleanor Hollis! Eleanor Hollis, come out! Have you been trying to seduce my brother?!"
Eleanor wrinkled her brows. She hadn’t seen this person in a long time. Why was she here today?
"Bang!"
The ward’s door was suddenly pushed open, and Joelle Quinn appeared at the doorway, arrogant with two bodyguards in tow.
Since Eleanor’s grandmother’s health had improved, Eleanor had let the bodyguards Hugo sent leave a couple of days ago, allowing Joelle to come in without any obstacles.
"Joelle Quinn, what are you doing?!"
Eleanor stood in front of her grandmother, fearing she would get hurt.
Joelle raised her chin, full of disdain, "Don’t you know why I’m here?! Eleanor Hollis, you agreed to the divorce yourself back then. How long has it been, and you’re already trying to tangle with my brother again? You’re truly shameless. I’ve heard you’re even involved with my uncle. Are you trying to have both men into your bed? How disgraceful!"
Her voice was loud, and all the passing nurses heard it. Seeing the bodyguards behind her, no one dared to step forward.
However, they couldn’t help but speak out because Joelle was accusing Eleanor.
"Miss Hollis isn’t like that, you must be mistaken."
"Miss Hollis is a good person, she’s filial to the elderly and beautiful too."
Hearing everyone around speak for Eleanor, Joelle’s face went pale with anger, "Shut up! She’s my brother’s ex-wife, I know what she’s like! She was arrogant at home, never respected us, always messing around with men. Otherwise, why would my brother have divorced her!"
Joelle relentlessly smeared Eleanor, seeing hesitation on the faces of those around them, her chin lifted in smugness.
"Joelle Quinn!"
Eleanor stood up, her gaze fearless.
"Is it me who fools around with men outside, or your brother who fools around with women? Your brother can even sleep with his aunt, and your family knows it but doesn’t stop it, instead comes here to vilify me. Truly, your family’s values are misplaced. You say I was arrogant at home, look at your behavior now, who’s really arrogant?"
The bystanders who were somewhat suspicious found their doubts dispelled by Eleanor’s words.
"Exactly, causing a scene in a hospital, so unruly."
"Your brother cheated, and you still dare to trouble his ex-wife, shameless."
"Cheaters are all scumbags!"
Most of the nurses were women, and after hearing Eleanor, their expressions towards Joelle soured instantly.
The hospital security had also arrived by then, standing before Joelle.
"Miss, please have your people be quiet here. This is a patient rest area. If you continue to cause trouble, we’ll have to ask you to leave."
Joelle had only brought two people, but there were about a dozen security guards in the hospital, and if things turned physical, she wouldn’t gain anything.
"Do you know who I am?!"
Since childhood, no one dared to treat her this way.
Seeing Joelle’s furious expression, Eleanor’s eyes carried a hint of clear mockery. The more Joelle acted like this, the more people would see her as arrogant.
Indeed.
"Such a hot temper at such a young age, isn’t it just because she was born into a good family, what’s there to be so smug about!"
"Stop putting on airs! In the hospital, everyone listens to the doctors!"
Joelle was so furious her chest heaved, damn commoners!
But with so many security guards present, she had no way to act and could only glare hatefully at Eleanor.
"Alright, Eleanor Hollis, just you wait, see what happens! If you’ve got the guts, just stay inside forever!"
Eleanor felt a chill seeing the malice in her eyes.
Joelle was a spoiled young lady, always pampered, now being targeted by so many people, of course, she was holding a grudge.
Who knows, she might have someone take Eleanor away when she walks out of the hospital.
"Luna, that’s Nathaniel’s sister?"
Bridget couldn’t help but speak, her eyes full of pain.
Seeing Joelle like that, she understood what kind of life Luna had in the Quinton Family all these years.
She couldn’t help herself and her eyes turned red, "That marriage really ruined you. If your grandfather knew about your ordeal, he wouldn’t rest in peace."
Eleanor noticed her grandmother getting emotional and quickly supported her.
"Grandma, it’s all in the past, and I’m doing just fine now. I won’t have anything to do with the Quinton Family anymore, don’t worry."
Bridget felt a strain in her heart, deeply uncomfortable, realizing Nathaniel even cheated during their marriage, and she ground her teeth.
"It’s good that you won’t have any ties with the Quinton Family. I think there’s nothing good about them!"
Eleanor smiled, fearing her grandmother might pass out from being too agitated, she could only help her onto the bed to rest, "Grandma, take a nap, when you wake up, I’ll take you to my place."
Bridget nodded, her heart heavy, letting out a long sigh before falling into a deep sleep.
After leaving the hospital, Joelle saw a sign behind her and gave it a few kicks in anger.
"Miss, where to now?"
