The Long Road to Love: The Capable CEO Dad
Chapter 79: Teach Her a Lesson
CHAPTER 79: CHAPTER 79: TEACH HER A LESSON
"Where else can she go?! Just wait here! As soon as Eleanor Hollis comes down, make sure to give her a harsh lesson!"
She really couldn’t swallow this anger, that damn Eleanor Hollis had actually incited those around her to embarrass her.
When she comes down, she’ll make sure to push her back and torment her.
Eleanor Hollis stood by the hospital window, seeing Joelle Quinn waiting at the main entrance, clearly waiting for her to come down.
She was a bit anxious; Joelle was already reckless by nature, and if she really fell into her hands, who knows if she’d come back alive.
She pursed her lips, took out her phone, searched through it, and finally stopped at Hugo Quinn’s number.
The only one who could restrain Joelle was Mr. Quinn, the Quinton Family’s fear-inducing King of Hell.
"Eleanor."
It was unclear when Hugo started calling her Eleanor instead of Miss Hollis.
"Mr. Quinn, do you have time this afternoon?"
As soon as she spoke, Hugo, even if he didn’t have time, would have to say he was available.
"What’s the matter?"
"I want you to come to the hospital and pick me up because my grandma is being discharged, and there’s quite a bit of stuff. I can’t handle it alone."
She didn’t mention Joelle waiting outside.
"Okay, I’ll be right over."
Hugo agreed readily.
After Eleanor hung up, she felt much calmer. It was strange, when did she start trusting that man so much?
It’s not a good sign.
Hugo lowered his head, finished handling the documents at hand, grabbed the suit jacket beside him, and was ready to leave.
Lan Yancy noticed he was leaving work so early and couldn’t help but speak up.
"Boss, it’s only two o’clock."
Usually, he’s a workaholic; why is he leaving work so early today?
"Hmm, got some things to do. Help me take care of the rest."
Seeing him looking urgent, Lan thought it was probably related to Miss Hollis, so he didn’t ask further.
It’s really strange when you think about it; following the boss for so many years, it’s the first time seeing him care so much about a woman.
And she’s a divorced woman, could it be that he really doesn’t mind Miss Hollis’s five years of marriage?
Any man should mind, right...
Hugo was already in the underground parking lot; since Lan had to stay behind to clean up the aftermath, he got into the driver’s seat himself.
Eleanor had called him, which made him happy; at least when this person faced difficulties, she thought of him first.
A subtle, shallow smile appeared at the corner of his mouth, inexplicably pleased.
Arriving at the hospital entrance, he saw Joelle Quinn and two bodyguards there and frowned slightly.
Joelle also noticed the car, her blood nearly freezing in fear.
Isn’t that the car her little uncle often drives? Could it be that her little uncle came to the hospital too?
If her little uncle found out she was looking for trouble with Eleanor Hollis, she’d be in deep trouble.
"Little uncle."
Seeing the man get out of the car with a cold demeanor, his shiny black leather shoes stepping onto the marble, exuding a kind of nobility.
"What are you doing here?"
Hugo looked at her, then at the two bodyguards behind her.
Shocked, Joelle quickly put on a smile, "I’m not feeling well, came to the hospital to check."
Hugo shifted his gaze, not bothering with her, and walked into the hospital chamber.
As Joelle watched him leave, her tense body gradually relaxed.
Among the Quinton Family men, the one she feared most was probably the man right before her.
She’d known since childhood that there’s one man in the Quinton Family not to be messed with, that high and mighty little uncle.
His abilities were strong, so strong that he didn’t need to rely on the Quinton Family at all.
"Miss, should we still wait?"
The two bodyguards cautiously asked, knowing that if Mr. Quinn knew about the trouble they caused here, they wouldn’t walk away easily.
Joelle’s face turned pale, "Wait for what? Do you want to be taken back and scolded by the little uncle?"
She gave the hospital a hateful glance, Eleanor Hollis, consider yourself lucky!
Hugo had already arrived at Bridget Sutton’s hospital, seeing Eleanor waiting outside, he smiled and walked over.
"Mr. Quinn."
Eleanor’s eyes lit up at his arrival, feeling somewhat inexplicably touched.
"The elderly resting?"
Hugo stood in front of her, finding this woman increasingly pleasing to the eye.
"Yes, she’s about to wake up soon. Really sorry for making you come."
"It’s nothing."
Hugo reached out and rubbed her head; her hair was soft, the way she lowered her head seemed like she’d suffered immense grievance.
Eleanor wanted to dodge, but thinking she’d troubled him and seemed rude to suddenly change attitude, she forced herself to tolerate the hand playing with her hair.
"Is it because of Joelle? Is she troubling you?"
He’d heard that her previous life in the Quinton Family wasn’t good, probably made an enemy of Joelle.
"Yes, seeing her waiting at the door, guessing she was waiting for me, I called you. You’re her elder; she surely wouldn’t dare do anything."
She knew Hugo wasn’t stupid; seeing Joelle at the door, he could definitely guess something.
"If you’re willing, you could also become her elder."
Hugo bent down and whispered ambiguously.
Eleanor’s face instantly flushed red, stammering, unable to say anything.
This person really changed, teasing her any chance he got.
Initially, he was cold to the extreme, even stingy with a glance.
Seeing her shy reaction, Hugo felt a warm sensation in his heart.
However, he knew his behavior had somewhat crossed a line. It’s fine to tease occasionally, but if he truly acted, she’d surely get angry.
So after saying that, he straightened himself and leaned against the wall to wait with her for the elderly to wake up.
When Bridget Sutton woke up, it was already half an hour later.
Eleanor bustled around packing up, and finally, the three of them got into the car parked below.
Joelle Quinn had indeed left, and Eleanor felt she was astute; thankfully, she’d called Hugo over, or else it could’ve been worse today.
"Grandma, sit tight."
Eleanor supported the elder, afraid she’d bump into something.
Bridget kept praising Hugo.
The car soon arrived at her residence, she helped the elder out, remembering Hugo had stayed at her place recently, making her uneasy.
Tonight, with Grandma here, Hugo had to leave; otherwise, Grandma would surely overthink.
Seems like she’ll need to find a chance to talk to Hugo.
At the entrance, Eleanor found a pair of slippers for Bridget.
Bridget sharply noticed that there were actually several pairs of men’s shoes in the cabinet, frowning.
Eleanor just divorced; she shouldn’t be developing that quickly with another man.
"Luna, did Nathaniel come to find you? Why are there several pairs of men’s shoes here?"
Hearing her question, Eleanor bowed her head feeling annoyed; she forgot to tidy up these things.
